  1. Which is exactly what they've done... and if they don't resolve the issue (which they still might but I'm not holding my breath) Then my only real recourse is to call toyota customer service and give them a poor rating... because frankly it was unclear what they were selling and that is a poor business practice and doesn't warrant a positive reward... in the least bit... 2. FWIW the tow hitch is only available as a dealer accessory... there is a toyota accessory and then there are a large number of aftermarket options (it's my understanding that this aftermarket option doesn't void the warranty, or so I was told...) The issue I have is that they weren't clear as to what I was purchasing... I suppose I could have been clearer as to what I was asking for... it just pisses me off and now I have to live with them being shady... and me being stupid. 3. On a related note... am I wrong to believe that if I buy a tow hitch from a dealership for a new car purchased through the dealership that the tow hitch should in fact be the car manufacturers part in lieu of an aftermarket part? even if it isn't spelled out that that's what is being installed? and of course I don't know this until after the job has been done... 4. I'm not a conspiracy nut, this story has received wide coverage. I guess it still might bea design flaw, but I'm betting on a chip malfunction or poor algorhythm from what I have read. In modern cars the accelerator is not a mechnical linkage to the gas, it is just signaling a chip. I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at but... I believe many modern autos have eletronic throttle systems in lieu of simple cable connected to the gas pedal... I don't know the specifics of the accident in question... so anything i would say would be purely speculation... but I highly doubt there is any sort of conspiracy... 5. I would be willing to bet that they do... my current car has two hooks and I believe my previous car had at least one hook... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  6. The burning question of course is that if it had resulted in an accident would you have taken responsiblity for your own actions or blamed someone else... However I'm glad you were smart enough to correct the problem without it resulting in an accident. Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  7. Agreed... Wholeheartedly!!! Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  8. So blame the attorneys... or more accurately blame the stupid people that sue the car companies when they're using the GPS while driving and cause an accident and then instead of taking responsiblity for their actions they sue the car company... again I don't blame the manufacturer... it's stupid people that are at fault... (not anyone here of course... just to clarify... ) edited to add: there are other ways to address the problem such as putting a disclamer on the screen at startup (which they also probably do) This sort of thing is also one of the reasons I lean away from factory Navigation systems... above and beyond the problem of updating maps... 9. Oh, I know what you are saying... and what you intended in your original post... I'm just giving you grief... mostly because I love a good double entendre... I do realize what you said was not exactly a double entendre but it did two meanings... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  10. In lieu of removing the floor matt what are they supposed to do? do you really believe that a toyota is the only car that this might happen in? My guess it that the floor mat wasn't installed properly... or more accurately that the mat was incorrect for the vehicle model... and thus didn't fit properly... interestingly (and not suprisingly) Toyota sales people are no longer installing the drivers side floor mats... (even carpet floor mats specifically designed for the vehicle.) and I don't blame them since we live in a society that would rather blame someone else then take responsiblity for our own actions... granted this is someones fault but blaming the manufacturer isn't the right answer... 12. so is that anything like sending her to get a beer and a sammich while you're watching the game? Sorry... I couldn't resist... no no....not at all. though extra points will be given if she brings me coffee while I'm watching the F1 race. Beautiful women have an aroma about them. perhaps I didn't emphasize what I was getting at nearly enough... Your post said nothing about the scent so I figured you were talking about getting a beer and a sammich... or coffee whatever floats your boat... I'm just making sure i understand you... 13. the "dive flow" for videographers on AFF jumps at our DZ specifically requires that the videographer isn't in the students FOV during the "working" portion of the jumps... we are asked/expected to stay up and out of view during the practice touches. (generally I'm high and watching the student's pull side) then once they are finished we can move in to get a photo of the students face... then its back out of View (again usually I move up and to the right side of the student for the bottom of the sequence...) then after the student deploys (or is deployed) I get scared because AFF instructors have this bad habit of tracking towards me... Need advice!!

Wow, pretty in depth article there. Not sure every man is going to be able to absorb that kind of information. Lemme see a black belt AND a brown one? No. Sorry. That's way over my head. Seriously. Who wrote that piece of crap? Seriously, besides the article failed to mention that it is necessary to wear a black belt with black shoes and a brown belt with brown shoes... sheesh... 16. I haven't seen it but I do know "of" the movie... maybe I'll netflix it... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...

"As God Is My Witness, I Thought Turkeys Could Fly" - from tv series WKRP in Cincinnati after a Thanksgiving stunt that went horribly wrong where 20 live turkeys plumeted to their deaths after being dropped out of a helicpoter by a Cincinnati Radio Station... 18. I did keep one for a few years... I haven't done anything with it for a while however... I don't know that I'd mind if people read it... I've never said anything bad or incriminating in it... besides I would imagine most people would be unable to read my handwriting... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  19. Yup... it's me... I'm standing next to a sign that has some sort of warning on it to stay back because of the ledge... Scott Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  20. I can't say the same exactly... I'm generally very embarased in the women's underwear section... especially if I'm left there alone while she's trying something on... I guess I'm just strange like that... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  21. I certainly don't have a problem buying just about anything for my wife... including this... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  22. and when that happens to me I look at them very matter of factly and simply state... "Oh, I assure you I am CRAZY..." and leave it at that... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  23. So Terry... where can it be purchased? How Much? and can it be mounted on top of an FTP? (I assume the last one is a yes... but figured I'd ask... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...

  25. actually, I kind of understand what you are talking about... I'm an introvert and interestingly often you'll see extroverts trying to "cure" many/most introverts of their shyness by trying to convince them they should go out and be more social when there isn't actually anything wrong with them... It would probably surprise many of the people that know me really well that I'm actually an introvert... because once I'm comfortable in an environment I tend to become much more outgoing/vocal but it generally takes some time for me to warm up to others.
