    Pets?

Her aggression is confidence driven (lack of) or so we have been told. Thankfully we have been and are working with one on one training to hopefully improve her confidence and teach her appropriate behavior... she isn't so bright however and it sometimes takes a while for things to sink in... she is a sweetie however at least with people... and in a comfortable environment (such as at home...) Pets?

Always been a dog person... had a family cat growing up but mostly gravitate to female dogs. After losing my 10ish year old Catahoula/Lab mix last year due to a pancreatic insulinoma (pancreatic cancer). My wife and I adopted a pit mix from a local rescue organization. Her name is Izzy (Isabelle) and she can be a challenge at times (due to being aggressive towards other dogs) but she does really well with us and we have probably the perfect environment for her to be happy. In the attached photo she is watching us get ready for work on a Monday morning and really doesn't want to get out of bed. Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  3. I can completely relate as we had to put my girl down over the summer as well... We went a completely different route and although she is a handful (due mostly to the challenges of her history and her lack of confidence) our pitbull rescue is a as completely different then my previous dog and at the same time is a great addition to our family dynamic. She has been and will likely be a lot of work to get her where she is able to be out and about without it being a challenge but she is a great girl with a lot of personality. 4. It's pretty severe, at least at The Farm. Years ago some young dude accidentally dropped a can of beer from under canopy, and it went whistling down, impacting near the hangar, IIRC. They caught the perp, made him sit in a chair, and gave a speech about that sort of thing, and had two guys give him a power slap to the inside of both thighs. I saw the video. Looked painful as all hell. I think he was talking about dropping a joint under canopy... thankfully that wouldn't likely hurt anyone (unlike a beer can)... but the penalty might still be moderately severe. 14. And gee, one would think that sicker populations would have higher healthcare costs. . So why is the population sicker if the healthcare is so good? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that health "care" doesn't equate to less "sick" people. educating people and having those people actually follow the recommendations is the only thing that will help reduce the number of "sick" people... and that is difficult to impossible to do. 15. better glass is more critical then updating the body (in this case) if you were considering a 5D MkIII then it would be a different story... but in this case with the smaller frame (APS Sensor) you probably won't see a substiantial difference between the 400d and the 600d. 16. Ultimately, in our current job market companies are able to pay less for the same person that they could several years ago. I suspect that in a number of cases companies aren't highering unless they find people that fit what they are looking for exactly... and the companies are often the ones with the cards... I do tend to agree somewhat with both sides of the arguements here as I think inovating in and of itself is very rewarding... I know I like solving problems and coming up with new ideas it excites me... However inovation also often yeilds additional profits and can (and probably should) be rewarded as long as the innovation is truly profitable... having said all of this... being closed minded either going in with the idea that one should definitely be rewarded for innovation or going in assuming that innovation is par for the course and should be assumed that everyone will innovate of their own volition despite the lack of a reward... is in my thinking a bad idea... Of course I say this knowing full well that I'm very soon going to be an engineer looking for work... and hopefully I'm able to find a company that is interested in me for who I am... and what I believe I can give to them... 17. I suspect it has something to do with this: "Marine Security Guards focus on the interior security of a diplomatic post's building(s). In only the most extreme emergency situations are they authorized duties exterior to the building(s) or to provide special protection to the senior diplomatic officer off of the diplomatic compound. MSGs carry a certain level of diplomatic immunity in the performance of their official duties." to clarify additionally: "The primary mission of the MSG is to provide security, particularly the protection of classified information and equipment vital to the national security of the United States at American diplomatic posts." This makes sense based on my experiences overseas and interacting with the state department. Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  18. I've used the Tokina AT-X 17mm and now use the Canon 10-22mm. The 10-22 is much better then the 17mm by a long shot. I agree with the first response that the Tokina is pretty soft for a prime and the CA is much greater on it then with the 10-22. I would recommend the Canon 10-22 long before the Tokina 17. 20. Pick music that your wife and you will both enjoy. I've used just about every style of music both slow and fast for skydiving videos. Making the music choice work is more about the editing then about anything else. Edited to add: Congratulations!!! Scott Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  21. The price of Gasoline/Oil in the US is more dependant on US monetary policy then it is on oil discovery/production policies. US monetary policy is driven by the Federal Reserve but for all intents and purposes the FED wants Obama to be relected because the Romney/Ryan (especially Ryan) doesn't particularly agree with current Fed Policy... But $4/gal gas is NOT benificial to Obama's re-election... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  22. I know there's been a lot of discussion already but... the quote from Mitt Romney was that he wasn't interested in watching the presidents speach unless the president was willing to admit not keeping his promises. Mr. Holman took that to mean that Mr. Romney wasn't going to watch the speach. Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
  23. He's still jumping a Scarlet and a 5D... or was last weekend... He also has a CX100 on his helmet... The Scarlet and CX are on top and the 5D is mounted on the front (upside down). Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...

  25. I built this system just about 2 years ago and it's still pretty darn solid... you could get a more current Motherboard, a newer i7 and more ram. More then one hard drive is important for video editing and in fact I use more then that... one for raw footage, one for rendered footage and a solid state drive for the OS. Editing footage is very efficient on this system running windows 7 and Sony Vegas 11. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4058366;search_string=sandy%20bridge;#4058366 Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
