Buyer/Seller Feedback (like eBay)
FrenchyDiver replied to murrays's topic in Suggestions and Feedback
Agreed, I too, just made business with a fellow DZ commer and it was a very positive experience. Also, on another forum I am a member, there is such a section called buyer/seller feedback where people can post their experience. Many times, in the case of a bad experience, other members were able to assist both parties in solving their issues. It aslo warned members about unscrupulous individuals that used multiple screen names in order to make an easy buck. JM Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2, -

I can't agree more with you. Same here, I quit for 10 years. Because we wanted to have a child, and I wanted to raise her. Now, whatever happens she will remember her Dad. I'm back and both my wife and daughter come to the DZ with me, every single time. They love it. My wife is more and more thinking about doing a tandem . Yep there are many reasons for which people quit. I agree with Winsor, too many to be listed. JM Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,

Would you let a non jumper pack your reserve??
FrenchyDiver replied to callmewhuffo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I sure did have a non jumper pack my reserve many times. Given that a rigger has to get certified in order to perform reserves packs, it is not my business whether he/she jumps or not. A rigger is a rigger. Go for it lady, if you get your certif, and if I happen to be in your DZ and need a repack, you'll get a pack job that day. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2, -
Case of Nerves - Happy Ending
FrenchyDiver replied to skygazer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Way to go and.....CONGRATULATIONS -
My daughter is now in 3rd grade but she started having homework since Kinder. Yes, there's this parent involvement thing now. She has now an average of 1:30 + of homework to do every day. It has also to be signed by the parent(s) too. I seat with her every day to help her, and somewhat I wonder how she can cope with it. Between her class hours and homework time she's putting more ours (around 9) than I do at the office (max 8) Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,

**STUPID NEWBIE QUESTION** What makes a parachute work?
FrenchyDiver replied to Nightingale's topic in Gear and Rigging
That will be the best and usually your instructor will be more than happy to explain it to you. There's a combination of different factors involved during the opening, such as packing techniques, slider, ect... Same with the cutaway, best described by somebody, perferably an instructor with rig on hands. The reserve has aspring loaded pilot chute. Basically whel pulling the reserve handle, the container flaps open and the spring (which is inside the pilot chute) jumps out of the container, catches the wind, and pulls the reserve out. If you have a chance of seeing a reserve chute repack, that will be very instructive in visualizing how it works. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2, -
$1.60/gal around my neighborhood. Most of the places are around 1.70 in average in NoVA. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,

I got a rig, I got a rig! :D
FrenchyDiver replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
But of the whole "rig' of course . You won't believe it fits you cuz you are wearing it, do you? You definitely need some fellow opinion there Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2, -
I agree with Skycuties. Plus, it has a Q&A at the end of each level that will enable you to study and get prepared for the quiz tests during your AFF progression. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,

What things have landed (crashed) near you?
FrenchyDiver replied to vonSanta's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Does a coconut falling in my buddy's plate count? I was having dinner with a buddy in Thailand when suddenly his plate was vaporised by a coconut fallen from a palm tree. I still wonder why he lost his appetite that eve Never saw him having such a nervous laugh Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2, -
