  1. That's a nice pic Bob. Thanks for sharing it. I met Dan the weekend before last. We had long great chats during the weekend. To say the least he was a great guy. I'll never forget him. Rest in peace Dan. Blue Skies for ever Frenchy Le Grand Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  2. Ditto, I'm with you on that one. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  3. It's like any other relationship. It is not about what we do, it's about how we feel about each other. I am married to a non skydiver. My wife is not interested in jumping, but she is not opposed at all to me doing it. It works fine for us. As in every relationship, it's all bout respecting and accepting each other decisions/activities. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  4. Around #64. D-bag lock. Round reserve ride. Problem: the last 2 elastic bands before the bag opens did not let go the lines. Cause: most certainly a packing error. I was the one who packed, btw. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  5. Well today, I went to Hartwood and had a great time. Really cool gang there. Tehe is no doubt, I'll be back, whatever the jump cost
  6. Pssstt..It's called love But you already knew that. I went through the same situation. I quit skydiving for many years when I got married. It was my choice, BTW. Then last year I decided to get back in the air. My wife had also her own way of reacting to the news, so had my daughter. Yes she knew that one day I was going to jump again. Nevertheless, I'll told them not to worry. I went, did my refresh jump and called her once I landed and took my equipment off. Also brought them a vid tape of the jump for them to watch. A few weeks later, I took them with me to the DZ so they could see it by themselves what it is all about. Didin't jump that day so I could be with them introduce them to the gang etc... They loved it. She never jumped and probably never will. It's not her "thing" and that's fine with both of us. Think about calling her after your first jump. then if she's never been to a DZ, take her there and be with her, introduce her to your buddies, tell her what people are doing, make her feel part of it. Good luck
  7. Send me a PM, we might have something for you. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,

  12. Your profile says you live in VA, so do I (NoVA actualy). Send me a PM and perhaps we can meet if we do not live too far from each other. If it is feasable, I will be more than happy to assist. JM Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  13. I agree with AggieDave, group suport is a great thing. Not a bad idea you have here on suggesting a place for students. And I too, usually read what students post about their experience. It reminds me when I was there struggling through my firsts jumps. Keep posting
  14. Hi Kris, I bought one three weeks ago. I am very happy with it and haven't noticed any motor noise on the sound track during playback. I use it for whuffo stuff only. Although I've read that a few have used it in skydives as well and are happy with it too. So I will jump with it someday in the future (right now I am far from being ready for it). Both my wife and I are very happy with the DCR-HC40. I like the way it feels on my hand. Small and light. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  15. HISPA is an international brotherhood of skydivers of all levels, with members in the USA, Switzerland, Spain, France, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Panama, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay. It did started originally when the Spanish forum was created here in DZ.com back in September 2003. However it has never been limited to Spanish speaking members. The mission of this brotherhood is to use the skills and knowledge of its members to give back to the sport as much and as many times we can. As well as having fun while we are together. Our members range from people who have just got their A license to people with over 3000 jumps. From the absolute newbie to Coaches, Tandem Masters and the whole range in between. As with many brotherhoods, an initiation jump has to be done with one of our delegates and a number will be given to the new member. Blues skyes Frenchy Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  16. It really is a matter of choice. As it has been stated, IMHO, it depends on what you do on your jumps, such as camera, CRW, ect... I have one and I will keep it. It's my choice to have another backup piece of equip. Besides, if I ever do cre or camera jumps, or other high risk of entanglement, then I'd simply disconnect it. FWIW, I had a cutaway some years ago, and still want to keep my RSL. Make the decision you are the most comfy with
  17. Take a break. Seriously!! Been there myself a few years ago. Similar situation, kept going to the office. Then one eve, we were having diner at a neighbor's place, next thing I remember I woke up in the alley between the house and the ambulance parked at the curb. My personnal advise is to disconnect from work rather soon. A few days, even a long weekend can help a great deal. Just take a day or two off, and try to relax, forgetting the rest of the world. Keep it simple, enjoy being with your wife and kids (if any) and forget about the rest. That's what works for me. Take care JM Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  18. I was there as well... It is a great loss for the skydive community. My thoughts and my prayers go to his family and friends Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  19. Hey, glad you had fun hermano. Was a pleasure to meet you too. Stay tuned, we will try the 12 way again. Don't forget to come and say hi to the Hispas in the Spanish forum Frenchy Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
  20. Welcome back, and guess what? You can still go to the DZ and hang out with your sky buddies. Besides, you can still learn a lot of stuff, such as packing, wich can be turned into money down the road. Then you can help with manifest and other things at the DZ. And all of this can become jump money down the road And one more thing "Welcome Back"
  21. I used tohave an old French rig. It came with 3 cards, one for the main, one for the reserve and one for the container itself. I always found that it was an excellent idea. Hispas Brothers President HISPA #2,
