  1. Your wish is my command. I cater to the individual. That rig suits him. Not sure who YOU consulted with your color choices! LOL. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  2. If there were multiple rigs ordered at 40% off, that must have been staff rates, because that is below most dealer costs. This industry cannot be compared to the computer industry. There are plenty of good cost effective options available. Feel free to PM me for details. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  3. It looks like the side laterals on the rig itself are too short for your body. That's pulling the cable pretty far back. If the rig fit properly, I would be willing to bet that there would be plenty of slack. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  4. A couple hours down the hill and you can go to Skydance Skydiving in Davis, or the Parachute Center in Lodi. Just a little further to Bay Area Skydiving in Byron. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  5. Any time after your graduate to solo status is appropriate. It does vary from person to person and situation to situation. Keep a couple of things in mind. A custom built container can handle at lease one downsize on the main parachute. Some even two depending on the manufacturer and canopy choices. Secondly, when your time comes to downsize your container, it's not like you throw the container away and start from scratch. You can sell your container and use that money towards a new container. Your main objective should be to get good, modern sport gear with the appropriate sized parachutes for your current skill level. The harness should fit you well for both safety and comfort reasons. Depending on your budget, this could be all used gear, a combination of new and used components, or all new gear. Feel free to PM me if you have any more specific questions, or just post them here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  6. As he said, without seeing it, it's hard to be certain. But consider an average of 20 year life span as long as it's been well taken care of and stored properly. It's been my experience for PD reserves of that age to sell for around $ 400 - $500. Five is the high end and dependant on supply and demand. The newer used ones are averaging about $700. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  7. 5'8" I dislike that I can't wear heels around my husband or I'm taller than him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

  10. We carry them in our store. But the postage might be a shock. Did you buy the Pack Tool at a local store? They might carry the replacement cord there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  11. I ran naked with my stapler because I'm sexy as hell! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

  15. Okay. So let's see how us over 40 chix fair. I'm still confused. Do we have to post the before pics now? Or do we post both at the end? I am quite white and fluffy at the moment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  16. None of the gear stores in Nor Cal have such a vast array of demo equipment that you can try "one of each". With a proper gear consultation, it will take some of the mystery out of your choices, and give you an idea of you options. At that point we/they can arrange for you to demo some equipment. Start local and work your way out. I would love to help you if Bill doesn't have what you need in the way of fit and function. Feel free to PM me with any questions regardless of who you buy from. Gotta keep all the Nor Cal Girls looking good and flying safe. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  17. I own the gear store at Skydve San Diego, and I can tell you that we sell Performance Designs, Aeodyne, Precision and Icarus. If you come in for a gear consultatin, you will receive an unbias comparison of your choices. No two jumpers are alike. The drop zone is not "Sponsored" by Icarus, but does have an Icarus dealership. They get great customer service from Wyatt who is the US Icarus rep. and on site several days a week. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  18. I arrived in San Diego in July. So I missed out on past politics. But we seem to have a great group of people here now. Not to mention weather and aircraft. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  19. Skydive San Diego has a bunk house. It's 30 minutes from Downtown and the Beach. We have two Otters. With all the military teams that train out here, we're turning loads 7 days a week. Oh. And we have a kick ass gear store! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  20. I know. To tell the truth, last week we had snow flakes here too. They just melted when they hit the ground. But the stuck to our sweatshirts. Brrrr. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  21. It's not snowing in San Diego right now. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  22. Bonehead makes one for $10. Available at all fine Bonehead retailers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  23. I just measured my head. 21" I have a narrow face. I wear an extra small Aviator. I can also fit into an extra small Bonehead Mindwarp. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  24. Wyatt Drews offers a great course at Skydive San Diego. If you can make the trip down it will be well worth your while. We are trying to arrange something with Wyatt in Nor Cal. If you have any dates on your wish list, PM me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
  25. Well then I fail to put my thoughts into written words properly. There are a lot of questions from those flying slower parachutes in regards to how they can protect themselves. I'm simply offering feedback on how to fly more defensively and intuitively rather than fly phat, dumb and happy and HOPE that the guy/gal behind you is doing what they are supposed to do. I never meant to imply that it is your resposibility as a slower parachute to concede the right of way to a higher canopy. Simply, it's in your best interest to fly both defensive and predictable to the best of your ability. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!
