  2. man, it took 3 posts... lol. you know i _have_ considered taking _that_ vow of poverty All that you need is a sign that reads "Will jump for food". never pull low......unless you are
  3. I agree. I don't think that a twin-bo dz is going to shut down a turbine dz. Wharton is a nice airport, but it's too far off the beaten path. never pull low......unless you are
  4. If so this is going to put one DZ outa business. I don't think the Houston area can support 3 DZs. Who knows really I could be awefully wrong. Being the fourth largest city in the US, I don't see why Houston can't support 3 dz's. If one dz goes under it will probably be due to their own mismanagement. never pull low......unless you are
  5. What's the penalty for polygamy? Two wives. never pull low......unless you are
  6. I've done the negative G exit from a c182, very cool. We also have used the negative G exit to launch a raft from the back of a Casa. Worked great. never pull low......unless you are

  8. We always sent the newbies after a packing tray. never pull low......unless you are
  9. I don't want to pay for my jumps any more than the next guy. I do think that most dz's do not charge enough for their jump tickets. Usually it's tandems and students that keep the doors open. Many dz's operate on a break even basis with experienced jumpers. This is in spite of the fact that the experienced jumpers use the facilities more than the tandems do. The jumpers whine about $18 jump tickets and then get pissed when the tandems get priority. While I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, I'm thinking that $25 per jump is reasonable. I remember when cigarettes went to $1 per pack there was alot of threats to quit but everyone got used to it pretty quick. If you want first class facilities, safe airplanes, swimming pools, etc. someone is going to pay for it. Skydiving might be a fun hobby for most but it's a business for others. Even at Disney World, Mickey Mouse gets paid. never pull low......unless you are

  14. On Saturday, Perris had over 100...yes! 100 tandem students! in one day! How does this apply to the price of your jump ticket? Do you expect the tandems to buy your jumps for you? When it comes down to it $20 is pretty cheap for what you are getting. never pull low......unless you are
  15. I know three jumpers with vision in one eye. One is a tandem master (and a jump pilot), one is AFF rated and the other does both. never pull low......unless you are

  19. My scariest ride was when we stalled a DC3 while climbing out on jump run. Bodies everywhere with the plane directly below us (50') in a flat spin. Nobody got hurt. Seemed kind of fun after it was over. never pull low......unless you are
  20. Quotealways good to have an optimist around as well:) Quote The problem with being an optimist is that it's impossible to be pleasantly suprised. never pull low......unless you are

  22. My home dz requires seatbelts until 1500'. On a side note, Does anyone else get nervous wearing a seatbelt with the door open? I worry about being extracted due to a premature opening while being belted in. never pull low......unless you are
  23. Most I have run across are usually mothers supporting a child that the wonderful male part of the biological component has taken off from. Just because the man isn't in their life doesn't necessarily mean that he took off. I think women can share the blame when it comes to the break-up of the traditional family. My guess is that some of them don't even know who the father is. never pull low......unless you are
  24. I could be wrong, but wasn't this country founded in part to escape religious persecution? Meaning that they wanted the right to openly practice whatever religion that they wanted? never pull low......unless you are
