  1. Getting fixed isn't as bad as it sounds. A little pain. The worst memory was the smell when they cauterized the tubes. Consider it a permanent procedure though, reversal is rare and expensive. never pull low......unless you are
  2. Whenever I have a student with a confidence problem,I show them my first logbook. When they see that their instructor wasn't a "natural" either they usually relax and do a good job. never pull low......unless you are
  3. People have a tendency to shorten the bungie when it gets old. If you shorten it too much it becomes a string (not allowing the pc to inflate).I also don't think that the 40mph calibration is very accurate. never pull low......unless you are
  4. Always go for the "cool points" instead of function. never pull low......unless you are
  5. Every business has plateau that you must cross. It's a big step from 2 Cessnas worth 40k each to a turbine for a million dollars. never pull low......unless you are
  6. When asked if you can talk in freefall, I always answer yes, it's just that nobody can hear you. Don't forget to tell them that we don't go through clouds because we'll drown. never pull low......unless you are

  9. Why would anyone want to hit a perfectly good golfball? Why would anyone want to cath a perfectly good bass? etc,etc never pull low......unless you are
  10. I'm not trying to sell digital altimeters but,I was wondering how many jumpers have actually used one? They are easier to use than most people think. I've sat in the airplane and watched three digitudes clicking off the altitude in sync the entire way to altitude. I don't think that any of the analogs agreed. 13. When the Digitudes first came out I was skeptical. I finally started using one when I went to an AFF certification course. They recommended them because you are expected to remember what happens when on the dive. I was suprised how easy they were to use. Also we used the for our AFF students when I worked at Skydive USA. I'll have to vote digital. never pull low......unless you are

  16. First 38 jumps: RW Paracamander First rig: XL Cloud, Wonderhog (with a blast handle), 26' navy conical reserve. Paid $850 (about 50 jumps on rig) including matching Brand X jumpsuit. never pull low......unless you are
  17. QuoteIMHO, skydiving was to weather dependent and political to count on much of a living. It's worse than being a farmer. I had a lot of fun during my "full-time" years though. never pull low......unless you are
  18. One con would be watching your partially inflated canopy floating away after a cut-away. I love my Vengeance however. never pull low......unless you are

  21. I don't see the need to use a RSL myself.I've pulled a few reserve handles in the last 22+ years, so I feel confident that I'll pull it the next time. I feel that my cypres is all of the "stupid insurance" that I need. I'm not anti-RSL, it may be appropriate for someone under different circumstances. Rick never pull low......unless you are
  22. My first jump instructor told me that he was nervous on every jump. He had about 1100 jumps at that time. He also said that the day that a person stops getting nervous they should quit jumping. I take good care of my gear. I do thorough and frequent gear checks on myself and others in the plane. As an instructor I teach safety procedures weekly, keeping myself very current in these matters. I don't get nervous anymore, but I don't feel that it makes me less safe than the person who is. People get hurt in auto accidents everyday, but I don't get nervous when I drive. 24. Falling out of your harness is a very real possibility. It has happened before. I don't think that the "you're dead" statement was that much of an overstatement. Rick never pull low......unless you are
