  3. QuoteNow, if you were to use a normal knife, wouldn't that probably do more harm than good in a risky situation?reply] The danger with a regular knife is that you could very easily stab yourself in the heat of the moment. never pull low......unless you are
  4. Get ready to hear every excuse in the book. Everyone it seems has always wanted to do it. It's nice when we can share skydiving with our friends. Just don't get too disappointed when they have to stay home and have wash grandma's dog on saturday morning. never pull low......unless you are
  5. Just have to put him facing out on bi-poles never pull low......unless you are
  6. First figure out what you need. You can also check coverage areas on their web sites. I picked Nextel because incoming calls are free. I get more calls than I make. The walkie talkie feature is useful to me. Sprint sounds good if you have a lot of friends on Sprint. Determine your own needs and then pick a plan that most closely matches it. One word of caution, going over your minutes can be very expensive. never pull low......unless you are
  7. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Spend the extra money and get a metal knife. I've only used mine once in 23 years. I had to cut a students jumpsuit after it became entangled with the brake caliper on a 182. never pull low......unless you are

  9. Yeah but, look at those big blue eyes. never pull low......unless you are
  10. I'm just an old belly flyer so I may be way off base here, but isn't sit flyng a survival technique for head downers. I was under the impression that you had to be able to sit fly so that you don't cork and kill somebody. never pull low......unless you are
  11. That is interesting - you would think if the "need to know" basis was on a per job basis, HR would not ask you if you currently had any sort of clearance. I think it shows that you can get one. They are expensive and time consuming. It probably sucks to have to fire someone when thier clearance doesn't go through. never pull low......unless you are
  12. I haven't had a clearance since 1991. Top secret,SAR (special access required). My memory isn't as good as it used to be.We also had people cleared "Secret" maybe that's what I was thinking of. never pull low......unless you are
  13. One more note. If you apply for a clearance and you had one previously, they only have to clear you back to the previous clearance. This makes it cheaper and quicker. never pull low......unless you are
  14. I worked for United Technologies on the Stategic Defense Initiative (star wars) during the 80's. I was required to have a top secret clearance. They hired the DOD to administer them. I filled out about 15 pages of info. They even went to my old neighbors and questioned them. It took about 6 months for my clearance to go through. As far as I know you are cleared for a job. You cannot get a blanket clearance just in case you need it. never pull low......unless you are
  15. Obviously there are several factors involved here . . . the amount of physical work you're doing at the time is pretty high up there. It is my understanding those times are for pilots at the controls of aircraft. That said, it's interesting to note how quickly things "improve" as you decend, so in theory, if you can get out and start heading toward the earth with a minimum of exertion, you ought to be able to do it successfully, but I certainly wouldn't want to make that the normal practice -- that would just be foolish. I only printed these numbers because I thought that they were of interest. High altitude jumps can be deadly. I would not recommend anybody doing them without getting properly trained. never pull low......unless you are
  16. Time of useful consciousness without oxygen at 30k is 30 seconds. At 28k it's 1 minute. At 26k 2 minutes:24k 3 minutes. never pull low......unless you are

  19. I get accussed of being pro Mirage because I own one. In reality I own one because I choose to. I had the option to buy any rig I wanted and chose Mirage. Used to own a Talon, good rig in it's day. I would buy another Mirage if I was shopping today. never pull low......unless you are
  20. Skydivers are more scared of not living than they are of dying. never pull low......unless you are
  21. Three gay guys are sitting in a hot tub. A big glob of cum floats to the surface. One of the guy gets angry and asks "ok, who farted?" never pull low......unless you are

  23. It isn't fear, it's the arrogance of power. This might sound like ass kissing, but they might want to try talking to papa sr. He's made a couple dives with the Golden Knights and his grandaughters have both made tandems. Maybe George Sr. can tell the SS to knock it the fuck off. I don't think that they had the typical drop zone 'experience'. never pull low......unless you are
