  2. QuoteI see a lot of people say that you can pretty much count on changing crowds, losing non-jumping friends, etc.. . Has this been the case for the majority? What was your experience? Just curious. reply] In the beginning, when I would come home from the dz I would have 20 messages on the recorder. After a while I'd come home and there wouldn't be any. It wasn't intentional, I was just consumed with skydiving. The whuffos got tired of hearing about it. Skydiving is a way of life. Most of us have tried to bring freinds in to the sport, but most of the time we meet our freinds at the dz. never pull low......unless you are

  7. But hey -- that was mostly in Texas. Maybe we all are just safer here Wendy W. I've seen 4 cypres' fire since I've moved to Texas (1996) never pull low......unless you are
  8. I've been jumping since 1981 and have never been on the dz during a fatality. Not bad since I spent about 8 or 9 years working full time in the sport. I've had friends die skydiving however. never pull low......unless you are

  10. Until the Arabs stop blowing up innocent civilians (especially children) I'll think of them as the bad guys. I don't care what their motives are, they are wrong. never pull low......unless you are
  11. Its not the tearing down of the fence... but FINALLY someone might use the HUGE amount of money we give to Israel as a way to twist arms that have needed to be twisted for a long time. Its the most ignored but potentially highest rewarding carrot and stick in our foreign policy arsenal. Short of packing up and leaving, I don't think that there is any thing that Israel can do to bring peace to that region. In fact if Israel did pack up and leave they would just fight each other. never pull low......unless you are
  12. Does anybody still "ride the rotating beacon" at airports that have them? Used to do that at night and leave your signature on it. They still ride the beacon at the dz's that I jump (naked, of course). never pull low......unless you are
  13. Thank YOU! We have the purse strings and the ability to force a solution to this thorn in our political side. Its about time we use it. reply] I find the Mid-East problem as frustrating as the next guy, but how does tearing down a security fence solve the problem? never pull low......unless you are
  14. I've heard that sabre2 opens soft. Nice stable canopy for a beginner. never pull low......unless you are
  15. You are absolutely right. Horse shoe and PC in tow are probably the 2 mals I am most afraid of. I have tried the latter and must say it is scary shit. This is why people are saying - practise your emergency procedure and stick with it, even if it is not ideal. As there is no perfect solution, go for the one that is in in your "muscle memory" IMO. The best way to deal with any malfunction is to avoid it. Maintain your equipment, pack it properly and get a real gear check before exit. never pull low......unless you are

  21. 1. Yes they are refering to intentional breakaways. 2. Yes you should remove your hands from the toggles to prepare your rig. Remove the gloves if they are a problem. 3. I would only loosen my leg straps an inch or two. never pull low......unless you are
