I fear the law of unintended consequences. The 270 turn, HP landing developed as a SAFER alternative to lover degree turns done at LOWER altitudes. I am afraid that in an attempt to develop the same speed as a slow carving 270 people will start doing quick snap turns at lower altitudes, and take us back to the "Whippy the Toggle Monkey" days of the 90s. (make that 1990s) I don't have an issue with restricting HP landings, regardless of the size of the turn, when landing with traffic. But if a swooper(s) wants to get out last, open high, and land last or have a low pass (on the way to altitude), I just cant see why anyone would have an problem with that.

I think we should get rid of all of the bullets an bombs and have laser tag systems hooked up to everybody. But instead of having an alarm go off when you get hit, you would be given a lethal injection. No blood no pain just lay down go to sleep and die. Being burned and shot is just too uncivilized.

I go to the WFFC to jump with friends, and meet new ones. The problem is that a lot of those people don't show because there is no jet, no bell jet ranger, no mig flybys, no golden knights, no team extream, no vendors, no carnival....you get the idea. I have only missed one year in the last 10 and have witnessed a slow, steady decline, and each year is smaller than the previous. It is very sad. If you can get it rockin' again like it was 5 years ago I would be there in a heart beat. Take a look at the '98 video to see what I mean.

Then you would have loved it this year. No big parties in the party tent. Very small crowd but HUGE facility. The first year the convention went to Rantoul, I thought it could use about 1000-2000 more people just to make the place feel full. Of but that was back when they drew 3500 or so. Bring back the carnival, it provides a good venue to mix with the locals who seem to like us.
