Been there, done that, I went a month between jumps and than finally a good day came along. At my dz you do a comprehensive review and than your good to go. It all seems to work out when you go out the door,dirt dive your TLO's you'll be fine. good luck blue skies jerry

Greetings, Just started jumping a new 190 saber 2 and after a few jumps It seems like its flying a tad faster. Is this possible ? or is it the summer weather conditions of the last couple days? Anyone got an opion on this subject?

HI, know what you mean about (hot rod ) I jump a 190 saber loaded at 1.35 I stand up (run out ) about half my landings. I know the hornets and the sabers are pretty close in flight characteristics. I was having an off day and flared high on all three jumps. Got my ass chewed on for doing a carving 180 landing too close to the runway, I'm my own worst enemy. Jump 2 1st guy down sets up to the south, I set up to the south and everyone else goes north. No one knows who the first guy down was. Jump 3 flared a little too soon , waited a little too long to finish flaring , and got a nice grass stain on my leg strap.Other than that everything was fine. blue skies jerry

Its my birthday and I get to jump all I want too. Gee I wonder if there's some skydiveing tradition that goes along with ones birthday? would beer be a good guess?

HI , I bumped down from a 220 to 190 at about 30 jumps. I have a saber2 190 that I load at 1.35 and I can get one more down size on my current container, but that won't be for awhile. My advice is jump one and see how it feels, that is if your instructors give you the go ahead. Your really the only one who can determine your comfort level on the canopy you fly. I have no opinion on reflex as I jump a Infinity which by the way is a kickass container. And as always be wary of advice from the net. good luck blue skies jerry

Another twist, I think I read some where that once you take off you should never go below take off elevation, but I can't remember the reason any help out there. blue skies jerry

After being cleared from student status, I went to another DZ the student rental they gave me was rip cord. after an uneventful free fall I pulled the handle and nothing as I turn to look over my shoulder, wham and about a million line twists, by the time I get it kicked out I just barley made it back to the landing field. The handle cost me 15$ and if I ever see another rip cord rig it will be too soon. blue skies jerry

Hi ,my name is Jerry I'm a steamfitter, I like to play hide an seek for a grand a week. I work in the construction industries( computer chip factory, paper mills, ect..ect..) I have a business manager who pimps for me and I only work when I want to. On the other hand sometimes when I want to work theres no jobs, like right now in my local area. 1.65-1.75 depending on where you are at the time. Gas prices suck in Oregon, and they want us to start pumping our own gas. I say why beat some kid out of a job.

I'm just learning to pack -about 6 jumps on a new saber, half were my pack job. at this point I would not want to pack for anyone else. I believe I should pack my own canopy just to take a look at wear and tear. I think I should be the person responsible for the maintenance too. blue skies jerry
