  1. We have shipments arriving every week. Mike ChutingStar.com
  2. The Z1 size is usually marked on the padding. But if it's worn off, and it doesn't fit, then you can go off their measurements for ordering new padding. And yes, the padding can be swapped out. The Z1 helmets are one shell size with different padding sizes. Sizes include small (21 1/4 - 21 7/8 inches), medium (22 - 22 1/2 inches), large (22 5/8 - 23 inches), X Large (23 1/4 - 23 3/4 inches), and XX Large (23 7/8 - 24 1/8 inches). Mike ChutingStar.com

  5. I recommend an M4 for a 190, 170, 150 main canopy range. A 135 Sabre2 135 would be too soft for my liking. I've seen it done...but it's not desired. A 135 is a better fit in an M3, M2, M1 and M0. Mike ChutingStar.com

  8. They are sending out helmets with it side-mounted. We just received 6 of them. Rawa's top-mount CX100 box is different from its side-mount CX100 box. And the helmets come HypEye D Pro ready with holes for the button and plug-in cable. I'll have photos up on my site of the side-mount version sometime tomorrow. Take care, Mike ChutingStar.com
  9. Gilead (above) may have a photo as I just sent him one mounted to a Liquid Flatlock. But I will also have some mounted boxes/helmets from Rawa by Friday or Saturday and can provide some photos. Mike ChutingStar.com
  10. $25 USD. Mike ChutingStar.com
  11. The notch in that Flatlock is specifically for the CX100/105 cameras. And yes, that was just released by Cookie to center that particular camera on the Flatlock for top mounting with a thumbscrew using the Cookie CX100/105 Blackbox. Cookie makes different version of the Flatlock top plate to center cameras such as the HC 5/7/9, HC3, CX 6/7/11/12 and now the CX 100/105. The standard plate works for other video cameras and all the still cameras. Mike ChutingStar.com
  12. Below are some photos I took last night. The Diamond and Cookie lenses will fit without a filter, they just are recessed into the lens extension area. You would need to cut back that part of the box to match your lens. It is compatible with the HypEye D Pro, but it won't fit inside the box like Cookie's Blackbox. There is a hole cut in the side of the box for access to the plug in as well as the on/off switch. Of the boxes they shipped out to me in the first batch, some have the HypEye D Pro access hole and some do not. But it would just be a matter of cutting another hole in the boxes that do not have them. I'm going to make sure all future boxes have that hole cut. All Rawa camera boxes are $120. Keep mind they don't include any mounting hardware like Cookie's boxes. It's just the box and the closing screw for the box (plus two extra closing screws). Also a few of the photos below show a Liquid Flatlock to show a size relation as well as how it would sit if mounted to a flatlock. The Flatlock is not included with Rawa camera boxes.
  13. Finally took the time to jump a Cookie GAS full-face this weekend at a local 4-way meet here. A few things stood out to me that immediately made it my favorite full-face to date: Ease of putting it on and tightening the collar. The clip under the chin padding is connected to a line that tightens the collar as you clip it. Kind of like the Mamba, but the GAS has a separate clip piece from the chin piece. Nicely done and easy to setup and use. It's anchored with line through a Cypres disc that can be adjusted. Mouth vent is a metal grommet of sorts...and this keeps the padding a little bit away from your mouth so it doesn't feel like you're eating padding...and it also makes it clear on how the helmet should align on your head as your mouth is at the grommet area. Field of vision is excellent. absolutely does not affect line of sight from side to side...very well shaped. Location of audible...just forward of your ear so it doesn't sit directly on your ear and scrunch your ear. Anywho...I like... Mike ChutingStar.com
  14. You could direct mount a Rawa CX100 box to a Liquid Flatlock. The Rawa box secures the camera without a screw to the camera...just a screw closure for the box itself. We did receive Rawa top-mount boxes for the CX100, although it has a longer than necessary lens section that may need to be cutback depending on the lens you end up using. I'll get some photos up tomorrow or Monday on my site. Mike ChutingStar.com
  15. Contact Mike at ChutingStar, I believe he has some in stock. We've received top-mount boxes from Rawa for the CX100. The Side-Mount boxes are shipping to us this week from Rawa. Mike ChutingStar.com
  16. I have an 81 on order from April. Once it arrives and I get some jumps on it, I'll let you know what I think. I'll pass it around the Farm here to other swoopers to check out as well. It shouldn't be too much longer before it arrives... Mike ChutingStar.com
  17. Those stories aren't made up. Mike ChutingStar.com
  18. It was flashing cutter fired or something like that and I think the only way I could have read it with my IR reader was to replace the cutter with one from stock and restart the unit...and I didn't want to disturb the inside of the unit in case there was an issue there...so I just overnighted it to Vigil USA. A long way of saying no. Mike ChutingStar.com
  19. A-you're not jumping with a HypEye? B-you're not using extended battery? C-both? With HypEye and extended battery/FP90, the CX100 won't move at all. Otherwise, you might need foam in the back and side. Helped a local jumper with their top-mount CX100 Blackbox last week that was mounted to a ROK from Cookie. And it was a nice tight fit with the HypEye D Pro and lens. Mike ChutingStar.com
  20. Here's the scoop: This unit fired at Atlanta Skydiving Center at approximately 4000 feet. The jumper was making his first jump at ASC in Georgia after traveling from Colorado. It is possible the unit malfunctioned under proper operation by the jumper. It is also possible the unit was not operated properly by the jumper due to being left on from traveling and still recognized the Colorado ground as zero. The unit and rig were brought over to ChutingStar the next day, where we removed the unit and sent it to Vigil USA. Vigil USA sent it to the manufacturer. Right now, the unit is at the manufacturer being tested for both scenarios. The company also released the information bulletin today, which is posted here: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3572566;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Mike ChutingStar.com
  21. See below for a link to a new Vigil Information Bulletin: http://www.vigil.aero/files/images/Information_Bulletin___Airborne_Status_.pdf And copy/pasted: Brussels, May 2009 INFORMATION BULLETIN: VIGIL “AIRBORNE” STATUS and MANUAL First, we would like to emphasize importance of reading and understanding the Vigil User’s Manual before using the Vigill II AAD It is important to keep in mind that each AAD brand has its own specific features or methods of operation. The VIGIL II User’s Manual (latest version: VII.0.2) has been updated recently to add information related to the “AIRBORNE” or “ACTIVE” status of the Vigil II. This has been added to clarify some of the functional parameters of this life saving device. For instance, the Vigil II has a safety feature that will keep the unit active when it detects that the unit is Airborne. This is to prevent the Vigil from switching off after 14 hours if the unit is still Airborne. There are many documented cases of early generation AAD’s that have switched off after 14 hours even if the jumper was still in an aircraft or in freefall. The feature programmed into all Vigil II’s will prevent this and keep the unit on in half hour increments until the unit is back at its switch on altitude (this means in a zone of ±150ft or ±46m) or the reference pressure or the “Ground Zero”. We have summarized the information linked to this subject, as it is mentioned in our User’s Manual: Page 4: Your Vigil must be exclusively switched ON at the take-off zone (reference altitude or ground zero). If you want to change of drop zone, please switch off your Vigil before traveling and switch it back on at the new drop zone before take-off. Page 8: If the Vigil is airborne due to a difference in pressure equivalent to more than ±150ft (±46m) compared to the “ground zero” reference (pressure), it is highly recommended to switch off your Vigil after your last jump of the day. Be aware that your Vigil will not switch off as long as its “ground zero” reference altitude is not measured again (at ±150ft or ±46m) by the Vigil. Page 15: Important note: Please be aware that the original “GROUND ZERO” reference as well as the altitude correction will remain in the Vigil’s memory and will be applied to all following jumps, as long as your Vigil has not been switched off. Your Vigil must be recalibrated when you have landed at the other drop zone. By switching your Vigil off and back on again, the Vigil recalibrates itself and remember that the set “Alt Cor” will only be cancelled if reconfigured in the setup menu. Page 18: After switch on, the Vigil stays on for a period of 14 hours and will then switch off automatically if at “ground zero” reference. Once off, it will keep all settings in its memory for next jumps. I.B. “Airborne” status 1/2 Page 19: The Vigil is now ready for use and is in a stand-by status. The unit recalibrates itself every 32 sec. During take-off, the Vigil will go to an active status (8 measurements per sec.) when reaching 150 feet (+46m or 46m) above or under the “GROUND ZERO” reference in a time of maximum 32 sec. Vigil’s active status will be confirmed by five short flashes of the green LED and when the Activation Altitude is reached, the red LED will flash three times. Check the unit carefully for any implemented mode or altitude correction in ft or m before each jump. Page 20: See “Flight restriction for the pilot – Airborne” drawing. This is the only restriction for your Vigil. Inside this zone, the Vigil is in stand-by status, measuring every 32 seconds with recalibration and outside in active status , with a fixed reference, measuring 8 times per second. Vigil will work correctly even when used in a pressurized cabin, as long as the pressure differs at least ±5hPa compared to the atmospheric air pressure at takeoff. Page 21: As long as your Vigil is not measuring the switch on pressure or its “ground zero” reference (at ±150ft or ±46m) it will stay airborne and will not switch off even after 14 hours. This as long as the “ground zero” reference pressure (at ±150ft or ±46m) is not measured. Therefore, you need to switch off your Vigil before any move to another location and switch on your Vigil at the new drop zone to implement the new “ground zero” reference. Be aware that the implemented altitude correction will not affect the original “ground zero” reference altitude. It will just adapt the opening altitude in function of the set altitude correction parameters. After such a jump, you need to switch your Vigil off and back on again to implement the new “ground zero” reference altitude and to cancel the previous altitude correction. Page 22: You must switch the Vigil ON only once you arrive at the drop zone to get the correct “GROUND ZERO” REFERENCE. Adjust your altitude correction accordingly if needed. The Vigil will shut down automatically 14 hours after its start-up if at “ground zero” reference (at ±150ft or ±46m). Remember: you can always download the latest version of our User’s Manual on our website (www.vigil.aero). We thank you for your continued support and stay of course at your full disposal for any further information you could require ([email protected]). Blue skies, VIGIL TEAM I.B. “Airborne” status 2/2 ChutingStar.com
  22. The Ozone can only be top-mounted and you will need an Ozone Flatlock Adaptor (specific for the Ozone) and the Liquid Flatlock. We just received the Flatlock Adaptors for the Ozone yesterday from Cookie, and we have all the sizes of Ozone in stock now. Here is the link to the adaptor: http://www.chutingstargear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=17_33&products_id=422 Mike ChutingStar.com
  23. Our 1st shipment is leaving today from Cookie. Woohoo! Mike ChutingStar.com
  24. And I also have an OP143 going into an I4 in 4 weeks. So I'll have a better idea at that time if I think an OP160 or OP176 could fit in there...and hence a better idea if an OP176 or OP193 could fit in an I5. Mike ChutingStar.com
