  1. My guess is that they meant "factually erroneous". P.s. Impressed that someone made it reading all the way to page 12!
  2. Funny you say that, as i currently live in your backyard and split my time between base jumping and speedflying. I also like to watch porn and go out with girls, but i don't appreciate getting flooded with spam about porn sites or girlchats when i turn on my computer to check the weather forecast. If i want to watch porn i'll visit a porn website, but chances are Jan will also have sneaked some of his videos in there tagged as "Shy teen goes for the flight of her life".
  3. There's one thing wingsuiters like less than speedflying, and that is videographer wannabees spamming unrelated forums with their shitty videos in a bid to somehow be famous, or something. Stick to the speedflying forums and stop spamming us, or if you really really need to do forum posts to get anyone to watch your videos then put them in the bonfire section. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?forum=1;
  4. Why don't you just tell us about it instead of just correcting what people guesses? It feels a bit like playing the "who i am game"... So far we have: - Is it possible to be used for normal jumps? - Yes - Is it a prototype? - No My turn for a question i guess - Does it come in pink?
  5. I had a slider breaking last week on a Tony. In my suit at least, looking at the back of the slider it says what it is (mine is a YKK 10c http://www.ykkfastening.com/products/zipper/slider/zipper_type/coil_zipper/10c/10c_dalh.html ) which is easy to just buy one online and get it placed by a rigger.
  6. i've had a canopy with exactly the same problem. Took me a while to figure it out, but the workaraound solution for me turned out to be to steer the openings by grabbing a handfull of risers just above the rings and counteract the turn(s). Harness or rears didn't really work that well, but by controlling the riser group i was getting on-heading openings every time. It may not be possible if you fly a big PFthough
  7. All good points, but that's not what i wanted to hear Oh well, the search continues. And nothing wrong with sharing mate's undies
  8. It does seem a bit harsh. Checking that table and doing some basic maths. Starting with a round canopy number (81kgs gets a 170 @ 400-600 jumps) it seems the maximum WLing allowed is 1.17 until 600 jumps Lighter people still have to jump a 170 unless weight goes down to or below 69kgs, at which point are allowed a [email protected]...
  9. Bet you that those people also didn't have any muscle mass or strength gains over 1% either. To get mechanical body adaptations you have to stress the part of the body you want to adapt, otherwise the body will happily just plow along and maintain the current levels. Anyway, to get back to the OP, the best way to protect the ankle/leg is to know your canoy inside out so that you can land it where you want and how you want every single. Breaking my leg was the best thing that could happen to me with regards canopy control, as ever since the landings got a hell of a lot more serious and the rewards for not shutting it down fully at the end of the plane out is a load of pain if i need to run it out
  10. P.s. Before it gets mentioned. Try before you buy not really an option as most likely i'd be buying from overseas. P.p.s. Suit wanted for performance. Already have an acro able suit which i'm keeping
  11. I've been on the lookout for a new (second hand) suit for some time now and it's becoming glaringly obvious that only lanky bastards take up wingsuiting and the not-so-logical part of me is telling me to buy something oversized and hope for the best. So before i make an expensive mistake, what short of height difference you guys reckon i could realistically get away with while still being able to max the suit and not lose out in control and range? Would 2 to 3 inches down from the original measurements be a bit of a push?
  12. Thing is, you really can't make an informed decision at this stage. There is more to wearing a full face helmet than "good visibility". For example, only a few weeks ago we did a jump in a cold humid day that got the dew point just right where you don't want it. One of us had his full face's visor fully fog up at 7000ft, and he couldn't see any of us or his alti through the clag. He knew he needed to get the fuck away from us, but didn't know which direction to track without causing a collision (good thinking brought in by experience). So he started waving his arms off rather manically to indicate to us to break off and to let us know he had a problem (good thinking number 2 brought in by experience). After we got a safe dstance away from him and kept watching him, he started doing a pull time wave off repeatedly to make sure we were aware he was going to pull (good thinking 3 brought in by experience). We were at around 4000ft when he finally pulled, and we then observed him flying downwind away from the dropzone for a good few minutes. His visor was still fogged up and couldn't see where he was, where we were, or where the PLA was, and he was having problems trying to open his visor with gloved hands that had no feeling due to the cold, so he decided to not do any inputs on the canopy again to prevent a possible collision (good thinking 4 brought in by experience). He was at just under 2000ft by the time he managed to take off a glove and open his visor, and at this point he was so far downwind from the PLA that he wasn't even sure where that was, so ended up landing off close to 2 miles from the DZ. Had he not had enough experience to make the calls he made, we could have had a mid-air collision, a canopy vs freefaller collision, or a canopy-canopy collision. You dont have to be hugely experienced, but be able to think and make decisions in the nick of time. Someone with under the 50 jumps required for a B license could possibly have had too many things on his plate to have dealt with it properly. Tjhen landing off in an unfamiliar place far from the DZ, you really want to have a modicum of accuracy if that's a posibility, and the CH2 requirement for a B license addresses that. I can assure you he was glad he had the experience he had (75 odd jumps and B license) when this happened, and the situation is not a one off "and there i was, thought i was gonna die" thing that happens rarely, but it's actually more common than you may think if you jump a full face in winter.
  13. The blue pull up cord don't match the colour scheme of the clothes/rig grayscale and red.
  14. You serious? Did they actually say that? Oh man, that's tjhe biggest load of crap i ever heard the BPA come up with.
  15. There's plenty other options for the discerning fashionistas like you out there. For example, this jumpsuit offers plenty of individuality and enhanced power and control at the feet with an alternative to booties
  16. Excellent pic! Permission to use it as my wallpaper?
  17. The connoisseur's secret weapon for optimal pressurization. If PF call their onepiece suit the Phoenix Fly Cassoulet i''l buy 3 of them
  18. Yes, thanks. I got hold of one of those origin-unknown sliders and it is indeed type 3 (1" in this case). Interesting that instead of the standard 3" tape in the corners for the grommet to bite into, like on the ones from PdF and that Outlaw slider, it has what very much looks like a 330 or 240 cordura.
  19. Basik or Abatros in Europe... Not helpful, i know!
  20. I've come across a few sliders that were made with 1" tape instead of the usual 3", but i've found no details of which tape it is. Anyone have any ideas which is it they use? The only tapes of similar tensile strength to the 3" tape as far as i can see are type 2 and type 4, but they seem much heavier than the ones i've seen used. Also the sliders i've seen using the narrower tape are reinforced by added tapes (PdF has 2 support tapes in an x pattern like a CRW spider slider, and others of unknown origin have 2 tapes running parallel along the span) sugesting the tape used is a different flavour. Type 3 maybe? Something else?
  21. Just change the .wav files in the folder keeping the size at around 4k. Once a friend asked to borrow my flysight, and i loaded the audio folder with fruits/foods names instead of numbers before handing it to him...
