  1. I feel your pain, quite literally... For me it started just over a year ago while descending in a commercial flight, and it has since been happening while skydiving as well to the point that now it's a given after 2 or 3 jumps. Pretty much like skymama describes, just like having a knife driven through my forehead once i reach about 5000ft. Loads of fun! Let us know what if anything works for you. I'll be trying some of the suggestions above as well.
  2. And for the scam they get a couple of canopies or a container they can't even choose the colours for? These guys are after money, and this scam using the fake paypal e-mails have been around for a while. They wouldn't pickup themselves, they are in Nigeria or thereabouts. They will tell you they will, then they tell you they'll send a courier, then the courier will ask for money. Give them a go to play with them. Set up an e-mail and tell them to pay into that via Paypal. You'll see how it all goes.
  3. They send you an e-mail from an address that looks like paypal's (@paypal-international.com for example) with a "user XXX has made a payment to you" type content. The payment is for more than the price of the shit you sell, they said it was an error and if you can please give the money to the courier before collection. The courier contacts you and asks to be paid via Western Union or something like that before collection.
  4. So what did you personally do to deserve anyone's gratitude?
  5. You know, it's understandable, what with that being the last time the US actually won a war you need to clutch at something to sustain your oversized ego, but it's nearly 70 years now and no one here had any part of it. The "my (gran)dad is bigger than yours" gets tiresome... 6. Are you really holding all german citizens responsible for the actions of this guy? Here, have a laugh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QrRurrsi74
  7. I jumped a 245 Troll MDV while wearing pink underpants and had a nice on-heading opening, then i jumped a Stiletto 107 while wearing fluoro green knickers and got spun up. That proves that wearing pink pants will improve heading performance and opening characteristics and fluoro green knickers are death on a stick.
  8. Are you looking at yourself in the mirror flexing your biceps while you are saying that? Snap back to the real world, this ain't Hollywood. There's been 2 responses to what i think is a reasonable viewpoint, which could be reasonably argued for or against or simply ignored, and both of these responses have been a somewhat silly attempt of a personal attack followed by an even more silly and naive statement completely bypassing the subject of the post. If this is representative of the cognitive level of your average gun carrying citizen then i'm not surprised accidents like this are happening. I'm out of here. Not that i don't find your arguments fascinating, but there's some grass growing in my back garden and i wouldn't want to miss such an exciting event. Besides, my dog is waiting out there and she's able to formulate more reasoned replies than you 2 sunshines. Have a happy new year
  9. Hahahahahaahaha!!!! Yeah right... Everyone of the 100,000 people that gets shot every year in the USA are doing so by somebody defending him(her)self. Now where did i park my unicorn?
  10. I think the problem with the "i have a right to have a gun to protect me/my family" is that everyone in the country could exercise that right. So if that guy that approached you at McDonalds and you pulled a gun to actually had the intention of attacking you, and had also exercised his right to owning a gun, you would about now be lying 6 feet under with a hole in your head. And the same is true for all the other examples given above of people pulling guns on other people. When you have the upper hand it'll probably work well for you, but when you are matched then it'll mean the difference between a broken nose and split lips or a wooden cask. A sort of civilian version of the nuclear arms race... For what it's worth, there could be a post in a similar thread on snooker.com about now, of a guy advocating the use of guns because while waiting at a McDonalds in Houston a guy was looking weird at him, and when approaching the driver to see what the problem was that driver pulled a gun on him, and so to protect himself from gun wielding lunatics he will from now on carry a concealed weapon. And there you go, gun escalation with potential fatal outcomes from a situation that could be difused with a simple "I'm just waiting to order for a double cheeseburger here, leave me alone, dude"
  11. Have you got the project set up to match your imported footage (4k, etc.) and are you capturing by using the 'export frame' button?
  12. And just remembered, some software like After effects have in the input fields a little triangle, that when clicked it opens a small sliding scale. One at the top and another at the bottom for zooming and aligning respectively in each scale bar wouldn't really take much space?
  13. A few options that may or may not be implementable. I know what sounds simple could be a real nightmare to produce... As a starting point, there could be user defined default parameter scales under the preferences dialog, where you select your preferred "starting ranges", with the options to either enter a unit for Min and Max or chose "automatic scale" So for example one could select to always open the tracks with: - Altitude: Automatically adjusted to max alt. - GR: Min;0 Max;4 (for wingsuiters) or Min;0 Max;2 (for trackers) - V Speed: Min;0 Max;120mph - etc. And then whenever you open a track that's the scale you get. Then for in-GUI on the fly adjustments it could be that the topmost scale unit (if i open the viewer without importing, it would be the 4.8) could be clicked and it turns into a box where you can enter a value. You enter the new max unit for that parameter and that becomes the top range. Same thing for the bottom one (normally 0) to align the scales, and the same for the horizontal axis so that it can be scaled independently of the y axis. Other option could be to simply 'pinch' the same top (or left) values of each parameter with the mouse and simply drag up or down (left/right for the x axis) to 'zoom in/out', or being able to pinch any of the values and then the zooming could be centered on the value you are dragging. Pinching and dragging the actual scale bar could simply allow to move said bar up and down to align it. Or even, pinching on the parameter's legend (or a little icon after the ft/mph/etc), and dragging the mouse right/left could zoom in or out that parameter, whereas dragging up/down would move the whole bar and associated graph up/down. Ah, and you know what would be awesome? Having an android version so that flysight data can be viewed anywhere/anytime with a rooted phone
  14. Yep, and if you ever lend your flysight to a mate i thoroughly recommend replacing the audio with random words (just keep the name of the files). Nothing like getting them to hear things like "baguette - twat - five - banana" every 10 seconds for the length of the dive
  15. I've noticed that when reopening the window to import another track, the one that is already opened is selected, so for the purpose of opening tracks in order it works as a workaround. i've used the viewer quite a bit now and it is excellent. Nice job and thank you. Came across with what could be a bug (or my pc/flysight/sanity). It turns out that according to the viewer i've been doing halos all along and jumping from 25k ft. (same issue in the horizontal distance). And with regards the scales, i know this is free software and not directly your business, so i feel bad for asking, but since "if you don't ask you don't get"... How hard would it be for it to get the scales readjusted? The glide ratio at the moment goes from -2000:1 to 3000:1, and though there are some good flyers out there that is kind of overkill and it means that the normal bracket of 0:1 to 4:1 views only as a perfectly straight line. Then horizontal speed tops at about 100mph, whereas vertical tops at about 110, meaning that in a hard dive again it just show as a straight line at the top. Zooming in with the scroll wheel changes the scales, but it has a very strange and seemingly random behavior (or i'm just thick) and units that should be linked like V and H speed go haywire and out of sync both in unit size and centering. All said though, still an excellent piece of software which is coming in very useful
  16. If you'll have it, a little suggestion... Would be good if somewhere in the GUI it could name the file that is open, so that it's easy to review a number of tracks without trying to remember which is it that you just viewed. Probably not an issue for people that is organised, but me being a disaster i'm finding myself opening the same file(s) over and over trying to guess which is it that comes next. Excellent program nonetheless!
  17. When trying to launch the new viewer i get "could not find or load the the qt platform plugin for windows" "Available platform plugins are: Windows" Downloaded it twice and it's all the same. Any ideas? (Win7 64 btw)
  18. Oh yes, it will. You are welcome to try but i wouldn't recommend it unless you want to know what a terminal opening with no slider would feel like. That's the reason the closing of the nose cells came along, and it was a stalemate of the early attempts at crossbracing.
  19. I'll be interested to see how this camera comes out, but won't be one of the early adopters since i was very disappointed with the xdMini. First impressions were all good, until i actually got to record stuff and saw how god awful the image quality is. 720 mode is unusable, and 1080 still comes grainy, bland, can't deal with any sort of movement, and it's unable to make its mind on light settings. The "wide" angle of the lens is also not great unless you use a ringsight so as to capture what you want. A same because it sounded like a good camera on paper. Lets see if the new model can solve the issues.
  20. Anyone knows where i can get hold of one? Cheers
  21. Is that right? Only asking 'cause i have a 2001 Speed reserve 170 which sort of packs like a 170...
  22. Bargain! Unfortunately i'm a bit tied up now applying your business model proactively and am about to order a top end Ferrari. If i do 50,000 miles a year for 10 years i'll only be paying 40c a mile. Not bad for a Ferrari! I just hope my bank manager understands my logic is right
