  1. Good luck trying to get it classified as a racist symbol. Not that I care (best thing I ever did in life was leave Quebec), but you are poised to royally piss off over 8 million Quebecois with your desire to brand it as a racist symbol. Les Quebecois are bad enough right now with their language laws, do you really want to open up this can of worms claiming the most important symbol on their flag is racist? This should be fun. ROFLMAO. https://www.google.ca/search?q=quebec+flag&biw=1680&bih=957&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0CBwQsARqFQoTCI3Yx6Xx2MYCFUUYPgod6Y8B7Q Now there are a number of Pé·quiste who are indeed racists. but of course not all Quebecois are Pé·quiste. Oh and the Cajuns came from Acadia. They didn't come from Quebec and you can blame Les "mondi" Anglais for relocating the French speaking Acadians to Louisiana. 2. I am old enough to remember "The Snake". However I never really got to see him play all that much when he was at the prime of his career with the Raiders because back in those days growing up in Canuckistan, my parents did not have cable TV and the only way to watch an NFL game in Canuckistan in the 1970s was if you had cable. So while I was aware of the South Paw's prowess on the gridiron, it was only in the twilight of his career after leaving home and having cable with my roommates did I get to see Kenny play with the Oilers and the Saints. 4. Yup ... At the 2005 CPC Swooping Championships, during some challenging windy conditions in one of the speed rounds I spent too long flying the course on my rears and ended up stalling my wing in the middle of the turn (any wing can stall at any airspeed and at any attitude) and I slammed my butt into the ground hard and at a pretty high ground speed. I was kind of lucky I was not more seriously hurt. Now I was jumping the next day, but jumping under special circumstances. There was no way I could risk another butt landing but I really wanted to swoop in some fun pond exhibition freestyle events. So I would purposely chow near the end of each swoop in the pond and the crowds loved it. LOL I missed about two weeks of jumping as I healed and while I was not 100% when I did start swooping again, I was not out as long as I originally thought. 5. Please tell me I didn't misinterpret you to mean that her death wouldn't have been a waste if she wasn't beautiful. Oh good grief ... no her death would be a waste if it was the result of some sort of drug abuse scenario ... oh and yes she was also beautiful. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. Yes I remember her. I hope this does not turn out to be one of those self induced drug abuse deaths. It would be such a waste as she was beautiful. RIP Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

  8. Could you be anymore obtuse? could anymore arrogant? Obviously it would be up to the individual Canadian to do their own homework on the US Civil War as the subject is not covered in depth as much as it could be in our public schools. But there is a topic out there called History. Perhaps you have heard about it? Perhaps you have heard that if anyone regardless of where they are located in the globe was interested in historical events, that with a little effort, they could research a given topic and perhaps in their research they might obtain information from more than one source which might just might give them an unbiased view of a given historical subject? Has it ever occurred to you that Canada and the USA share a common history? Are you even aware of this history? Or does your education only stop at the 49th parallel? Perhaps you should be the one who is quizzed on all the events which occurred in North America these last 500 years? Perhaps it is you who will end up being the ignorant one? Funny how Canada became a nation immediately following the US Civil War. Were you even aware of this? Were you even aware of the reasons why Canada decided to pursue it's own bloodless independence from Britain at the same time that the US Civil War was coming to an end? Perhaps your own arrogance has clouded your judgment on your own neighbors? Question: do you always treat your neighbors with disrespect? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. Yes I agree America is going retard to support another Bush. But wait a second, where is the same outrage that America has gone retard in supporting Billary? Anyone who supports the Clintons are just as retarded as those who support the Bush clan. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. You are defending him because you know there is an explanation how someone of wealth can still only accumulate $4.57 in interest income. I say "No" to the Bush family. "No" to the Clintons, no to the "Kennedy" clan. I say "No" any of the career politicians. Unfortunately they all all career politicians and it does not matter what side of the fence they are on. They all suck. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. What do you know about 1981? Were you even around? 1981 was the year I graduated from High School and of course in 1981 I felt I knew everything I needed to know about the world. Of course in retrospective I was massively mistaken in that regard. Anyway yes in 1981 interest rates where extremely high. Good if you had money in savings, bad if you had debt. 1981 was also a year when a massive recession hit North America and as a result in 1981 there was extremely high unemployment. People lost their homes because they could not afford the payments thanks to high interest rates and no job. I am sure there is an explanation for Jeb Bush's small $4.57 interest income in 1981. I am sure it is something along the line of "He just did not keep a whole lot of money in the bank, and that any money he did have, was tied up somewhere else that did not earn interest income". If you knew anything about 1981, you would know that it was challenging times, where there were just as many unemployed people as there are today. But I am sure you could care less about anything like this. You have an agenda here and nothing will stop you from pushing this agenda. Looking forward to the thread you start detailing the financial status of Billary in 1981. That should be entertaining. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. Hope you don't mind if a bunch of Calgarians get a huge laugh out of this. There is a local alternative rock radio station I listen to when I commute to and from work each day and they are always going on about how messed up Florida is. Now there is no guarantee they will use this story in a future broadcast, but I did forward the URL to them and it is right up their ally for the materials they use. ROFLMAO. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. Good deal. Live and let live. I may be a fiscal conservative but I am also a "Live and let Live" social libertarian. This is the right thing to do. Kudos to the Supreme Court for the correct ruling. Now if only people would stop discriminating against the TG community, society could take a step in the right direction. Lately I am so sick of politics as I think people on both sides of the fence throwing stones from their glass houses are sickening. Some of the morals coming from the right are good morals everyone should follow. But some on the right show nothing but intolerance to people who are different from them. But it's not only the religious right here. Some of the tolerance coming from left is the proper thing to do. Gay, Lesbian and Transgender people should NOT be discriminated against. They did not choose to be this way. They were born this way. But some people on the left still feel they are entitled to dictate to others how they are allowed to think on a huge variety of other topics and this middle fence seems to get smaller and smaller with all the political wedge issues both sides use. It's sickening. Live and let Live I say. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. I must have watched this video at least 20 to 30 times since this thread started yesterday and it brings nothing but a smile to my face on how much fun this little girl was having. Oh and great idea on turning her infectious laughter into a ring tone for your daughter. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

  16. Hey Turtle this is pretty absurd. I hope you are just trolling here. I want governments as well as the special interest groups governments they cater to for votes (from both sides of the political fence) to have less control of our lives not more. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. When reviewing history, it's best to view it from as many points of views as you can. Only getting one side of history is not an honest representation of what actually happened. I have viewed the history of this war from the Canadian, the British, the American point of views as well as yes the Russian, German and Japanese perspectives. Of course I already knew the huge toll the Russians sacrificed in the war, I did not need this internet video to educate me (I did watch it and it's not a bad video). Anyway part of the reason why so many Russians lost their lives was because their entire nation was under attack and they mobilized almost every able bodied person male and female, adult and adolescent child to fight the war. But another reason why Russia lost so many people was because they just threw human wave after human wave at the Germans. Superiority by numbers won the war, with the industrial might of the West lead by the USA that was able to produce weaponry faster than then Germans because American industry was not being bombed every day. It was a team effort. But Hitler also made many mistakes in this war. Opening up two fronts too soon and not going for the British jugular when he had the chance. The war could have turned out very different had Hitler actually listened to his Generals. I would not say I am a World War II expert, but I have studied various time lines of the war on more than one occasion and I can not imagine what life must have been like for those who lived through the battles. Massive armies running around Europe shooting very lethal weapons at each other and too bad if civilians got caught up in the cross fire. But if you can take anything good out of the war (I know this is a stretch), it's that the war did advance technology at a rather accelerated rate. 19. Gay, Lesbian and Transgender people did not choose to be gay, lesbians or transgendered. They are born this way and there is no cure. We just need to accept these people for who are and let them get on with their lives. They are not hurting anyone. Plus what about the straight heterosexual person who all of a sudden finds out that their spouse is transgender and wants to transition? Does this mean that the straight heterosexual person loses all their rights through no fault of their own? I do believe religious people should be given the freedom to practice their beliefs, but these religious people do not have the right to tell everyone else how to live. For crying out loud, live and let live. But it's not just a Religious Right Wing thing (though some will claim that it is) because there are plenty of people on the other side of the fence who seem to think that they too are entitled to dictator to others how they are allowed to think on certain issues. I have no idea why this is, but there does not appear to be a single "Live and let Live and yet still be fiscally responsible" government out there. I guess this is because people who flock to government are power hungry and desire to have complete and total control over the lives of everyone else. Seriously leave me alone. Let me live my life the way I want to live it. I am not harming anyone. And in return I promise I will return the favor and I won't tell anyone else how to live their life. I am still confused why more people don't think this way. Perhaps I am just not normal. But what is normal? Certainly jumping out of aircraft or off of fixed objects would not be considered normal. haha Edited to add: I voted "nuthin' much" + "boobies" because nothing much will happen and boobies are a beautiful thing. 20. I was there. But I wasn't holding an FNC1 (though surprisingly 4 years later not only did I get to shoot the FNC1, I also got to shoot the FNC2). Anyway I grew up in Montreal and at the ripe old age of 12 the Summer Olympics came to town and I got to go see a few soccer games at Olympic stadium, some indoor cycling at the velodrome, judo also at the velodrome, some swimming and rowing events, oh and I also got to see a waterpolo match. I got to see Olga Korbut perform her magic in women's gymnastics during one of the preliminary events. But the big highlight for me during those Olympics was that I got to go to the women's gold medal volleyball match at the old Forum. That was an amazing event. I was astonished at how well those girls could play the game. Of course Bruce Jenner's decathlon performance was amazing on TV, and yes I actually remember the name of East Germany's best swimmer without needing to google it, Kornelia Ender (okay I'll fess up, I did look her name up to make sure I got the spelling correct) as Kornelia kicked butt in the pool aided of course by steroids. But the bitter sweet moment for us Canuckle'heads during the 1976 Summer Games was when Greg Joy came out of nowhere to win the silver medal in the men's high jump, on the last night of the games. But by failing to win the gold, Canada (repeated again in Calgary in 1988) has been the only host nation to never win an Olympic gold medal as the host nation. Of course we redeemed ourselves at the 2010 winter games in Vancouver where we not only won our first gold as the host nation, but we won more gold medals than any other nation in 2010. Oh and clearly this thread was started to make fun of Bruce (err I mean Caitlyn) Jenner which is rather sad. Let's hope that as skydivers we can show that we can think outside of the box versus the rest of the judgmental world. Whatever normal is, I assure you I am not it and I am pretty sure no licensed skydiver is normal as well. By the way what is normal? Oh who cares, we're not it. haha Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. I met Dean when he was taking his AFF classes in 2003 (or was it 2004) in CO on his way to advancing towards his BASE jumping career. Then I met him again at Jimmy and Marta's place in Moab while we were all there to jump the magical cliffs of Moab. While I did not know Dean the same way his friends knew him, his attitude was definitely a good one. Humble but confident. The things he did with his rock climbing and highlining are just mind boggling. Obviously Dean pushed the enveloped much further then most of us and BASE jumping and Skydiving are just one of those rare sports where our odds of getting into trouble increase as we gain more experience because we try to do more risky jumps. The margin for errors is minimal out there in Skydiving and especially in BASE. The smallest mistake can take even the most experienced, has taken the most experienced (ie: Jonathan Tagle, Shane McConkey, etc, etc.) BSBD Dean, I am sure you had a heck of a ride. 25. Since only rich people can afford the "new" 911, why not talk about it here. Class warfare is in season here at the Dork Zone. PS: I don't think I will ever get to drive the "new" 911. But I am told it is one of the most incredible cars ever made. Of course if you really want to experience what the new "911" can do, you need to have above average race track driving skills and of course you need to drive the "new" 911 on a race track.
