skybytch 259 #1 January 27, 2003 4 big garbage bags filled:0:0 No jumpee, spent most of the weekend cleaning house instead. My kitchen looks marvelous! Went out to the local Indian casino on Friday night. They have a craps table! But, it's only used for a tournament on Thursday nights... apparently craps is illegal in California. WTF is up with that? So I played some Let it Ride for awhile, then dropped myself in front of a nickel "Wheel of Fortune" slot machine. Slots ain't my game but that machine is pretty fun. Overall, spent an hour and a half there and only gave 'em $5; it was fun, I'll go back (on Thursday night... for the craps tournament!)

mouth 0 #3 January 27, 2003 15:0:0 15 hours watching my daughter dance and compete at the West Coast Dance Explosion. My throat is sore from yelling and I may never get all the glitter off of me. Three golds and a silver later we are all happy. No jumps thus no beer. I did go down to the hotel bar for a beer Sat night, but only had one because it was $5.00 a bottle. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit. wmw999 2,122 #4 January 27, 2003 I just don't post because the numbers have been 0:0:0 lately... So: 1:2:0 1 Rolling Stones concert 2 weekend days at work 0 jumps Wendy W. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. skymama 35 #5 January 27, 2003 4 layers of clothing worn:4:1 There was some snow on the ground, but I still managed to do 3 jumps in Raeford with my teeth chattering. Went on Katie's 100th, brought beer with me for my first trip to Raeford. I also stopped by the new Jacksonville dz on the way home and jumped out of a helicopter with plfxpert. A great weekend! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
happythoughts 0 #6 January 27, 2003 Awesome weekend. Did a 21-way and a 17-way. Jumped out of the B-17 with Johnny Gates and another old Muff Bro friend. I haven't jumped with him in a while and it was cool to just hang out with him. He taught me 10-way speed DC-3 exits back when I was a newbie. Super Bowl party with bbq ribs, etc.
Vallerina 2 #7 January 27, 2003 it took only 98 cents for my friend to get a buzz:0:0 Since I'm doing my whole "only 1 beer" thing, my friend tried to convince me to down a nice "high gravity" beer with her. One 24 oz can was only 98 cents! And, it had the alcohol content of 4 beers! (Yes, she is a poor college student.) I may try to squeeze in a jump or two this weekend...temperatures don't look too bad for the Midwest later in the week...we'll have to see what those silly clouds do! My only other excitement this weekend was that I went running.....OUCH! My quads are still really sore! I thought I had been getting "in shape." I guess not. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
Deuce 1 #8 January 27, 2003 Last weekend not jumping on purpose. Assisted with a first jump course for the first time on the way to my coach rating. Got my name in the first page of the local paper for the first time (but they mispelled my name, maybe they're not talking about me)
jceman 1 #9 January 27, 2003 95 tandem students babysat:2:0 Spent the weekend at the first weekend of the PIA/Grand Opening Boogie of Jacksonville ExtremeSports. We got most of the bugs worked out of the manifest/student system by Sunday. Things should be a bit less hectic until Friday when we start up big time again. Got a bunch of tandems booked for Saturday and Sunday again. BTW, a group of tandem students Saturday got the right idea quickly -- they left the DZ after their jumps and returned with a keg 'o' beer. They have shown great potential. We all appreciated it. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

dave610 0 #11 January 27, 2003 1:0:0 1 job interview scheduled for this Friday, WOOWHO, because I hate my current job. Everyone Cross your fingers please. No jumps, clouds and rain suck, therefore no beer owed, but drank a lot .
Scoby 0 #12 January 27, 2003 My last three trips to the DZ have resulted in exactly one skydive. I thought this wasn't supposed to happen in SoCal? The worst part was blue skies almost the whole way to the DZ, then thick clouds as we came to the valley. Of course, the skies were nice and blue on the drive home too after the day was called. I think I'm going to go to Perris or Elsinore this week one morning before work.
happythoughts 0 #13 January 27, 2003 Forgot to add, while we were on the b-17, a P-51 Mustang was flying next to us. A fighter escort. We were in the radio room and stood up through the observation hatch. We had helmets on and stuck our heads out and waved to the Mustang pilot. We were at 2000 ft and were looking down towards the tail at the ground. The plane has 4 radial engines, so it rumbles. Think DC-3 times two.
riddler 0 #14 January 27, 2003 1:5:0 5 jumps, despite the cold weather and lack of jumpers. I dunno why some types of gambling are legal and other ain't. I think there's a stigma about some types being "dirty". Last time I checked, roulette was not legal in Colorado, although blackjack and slot machines are. They say it's to keep the stakes low, but that's BS. You can keep stakes low in roulette, and they have slot machines that you can win a million dollars at.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. CanuckInUSA 0 #15 January 27, 2003 1:3:1 1 new girlfriend in the works (so maybe I can actually include humps numbers in the not too distant future). 3 fun jumps made on Super Bowl Sunday. I would have liked to have made more, but 3 is better than none. 1 case of beer (already bought and consumed during the Super Bowl) for jumping a camcorder.
