Well this weekend I had my second cut away from a violent opening backed up with a wildly spinning malfunction which left me on my back and unable to see anything as my head was pinned down. So I chop it and pull the reserve. You can see in the video I have the reserve handle in my hand and then throw it!!! Now the bad part is I have a broken finger from the whole thing and the reserve pins are on back order!!!!!!!!! And there is a boogie at my DZ this weekend....... Oh this sucks.

Ah yes, I just looked. I assumed that the college PC would have it but it does not. I have to wait till I get home now. Thanks.

Cypres, Audible, Long Aircraft Ride (long post)
lister55 replied to kjarv's topic in Gear and Rigging
This is a little off topic here, but I would think that the DZ or at least the pilot would inform people of such a radical difference in operations for this flight. I would like to know ahead of time that I was going to spend this much time in a cramped airplane. -
It appears that reserve rip cords are on back order for everyone. I need one for a mirage G3 M4 rig. The length needs to be 29". I would prefer a D ring but a soft handle in any color can be used. Please help!!!! Oh and I need it right away...

Is this bonus question too hard for 6th graders?

Well coming from another teacher I think it is a great "extra credit" question. I would not "DUMB" it down just because others think math is too difficult. Anything you can do do to challenge a young students mind is worth doing. Even if they dont get the answer correct, they will learn a lot in the process. -
I cant find a picture of what im talking about right now. But basically the sight comes with a set screw that has an allen wrench type screw. If you want to make it easy to take on and off, you need to find a set screw that has a big round "disc" shape on the end so you can tighten it by hand. I know some of you other people out there have this, if you can post a pic of what I am talking about here and let Indyz know where to go to get one. Here is a link of the swivel clamp I am talking about though. You have to get both pieces. Articulated Site Extender by Schumacher Precision Swivel Clamp Assembly by Schumacher Precision

Yep same thing with the canonon rebel. I have three bars of power and then all of a sudden nothing. Usually it will happen before I get in free fall though. If the camera will turn on at all it will usually last for a roll. If the battery power ever goes to two bars I go ahead and replace them and keep the batteries for ground type footage.

There is a swivel mount for the sights. However if you want to take it on and off get the thumb screw. I have started jumping with it on at all times. After a while you learn to look "through" it and you dont even realize it is there.

Thanks for the info. This seems like a pretty good idea. Although I think I need a digi camera to make it work out the best.

Ok. I am understanding that SHUTERFLY is some sort of online publishing service for photos. But I have never heard of it. Can you provide some more details as to what this service is and does for you? What are the costs asscociated with it? ect...

My nephew once opened his cookie and there was no fortune in it. I told him he got the cookie of death.

I had this same problem. Turned out that I has some lint on the inside of my wide angle lense. Try taking it apart and see if there is something inside it.

I think it's . . . BOOBIES!!! Quote Ah yes, Thanks Kelly. My Morning is now complete.

Ok, now I get the picture. Thanks. Makes me glad I started jumping now and not then!!

So were both main and reserve worn on the front? I having a hard time seeing how all this goes together. Since I only started jumping 2.5 years ago I am not familiar with the "vintage" equipment. And I dont mean to imply anyone here is vintage....

Anyone know what this is? Skydive Rig?

Could you imagine how much damage you could do in a pillow fight with "Insta-hardening pillows" ? Quote Of all the things we could do with this amazing technology and you want to have a "pillow fight"?

You can purchase tapes from Tape Resources for those prices everyday. Good company, I use them a lot.

I keep meaning to ask my local collage if they have anyone who would like to make some nylon or acrylic step rings so a riser strike would only take off the lens as opposed to front of the whole damn camera (ie the step ring is a sacrificial weak point in the system). Quote I like this idea. Especially now that this exact situation has happened to me. Luckily I have been able to tape the lense back on and keep going. But I do need to get it fixed.
