  1. If Im correct (which I think I am, but I might not be .....) The different color packaging is for different production years. I think the blue is the newer production. Check on Sonys web site about this. I think it is there somwhere.
  2. The short answer to your question (if you are busy like we are)is to start with a dual-format recorder (we use the Sony in Elsinore). Put your leader and labels on a bunch of DVD+RW's. Record your linear edit on just like you would use a VCR. This puts the edit into another chapter so they can skip the intro and go straight to their video. Quote This can also be done on the Phillips Recorder. Heres a link for some info Phillips DVDR75 Recorder
  3. I thought finalizing got the disc ready to play in a DVD player, and once done to either a -R or +R that it couldn't be added to later, ya needed an RW disc for that??? Quote this is true. But as long as you dont finalize the disc you can add things at a later time. Which is why i was saying that I dont think that the header can be on the same chapter as the rest. This is all on DVD "RECORDERS" I do not know about the burners I have not played with those yet. But since burners are for computers you can pretty much do what you want. You are not limited to linear editing with computers. But for making tandem videos, using computers takes too much time. thus we use the recorders.
  4. I bet the strip clubs are hiring. They like BOOBIES!!!!
  5. Ive been reading the ealier posts on how you measure differently. Could you give me the square footage of your canopy the way you measure it and the square footage of a competitors canopy the way you measure it? i.e. if yours is a 170 what would a compeitors 170 canopy measure under you measurement guidelines?
  6. I ran away from a blind date once.
  7. I am using the Phillips DVD recorder. I have to finalize my disc, but it does not take long. What I do is make the DVD, then while it is finalizing I take the film out of my camera and load another roll. I then put our logo on the case for the DVD. By the time I have done all this the disc is done, or very close. It only takes about 2-3 minutes for a tandem length video. Also, I dont think finalizing has anything to do with the length of the video. I could be wrong. But it seems like the finalization process is just writing to the disc the neccessary info to make it play in other DVD players. As far as putting a leader on, I dont think you would be able to make it part of the same chapter. But you could make it the first chapter and the DVD should play right through like normal. I will have try this to get a definitive answer though. Hope this helps.
  8. What are you using this for? I might have what you need.
  9. Damn are you goin around showin your BOOBIES to married men again? Home wrecker.....
  10. I doubt Jesus will find it funny Quote You know, people who get made fun of know its all in good fun. Seeing as God is all knowing, Im sure he understands this.....
  11. I think the funniest part is "Go ahead, throw the first stone!".........
  12. I can verify that this is correct. When I wanted to demo a Big Air canopy they wanted 75.00 for demo charge, plus shipping. It was going to cost $100.00 just to demo a canopy. Then they had thier demo in my size stolen and wants me to pre-pay a "down-payment" on another canopy to demo it. Basically I have put a down payment on a canopy and if I dont like it I can be refunded.????? Why not build another demo then let me demo that one? Whatever, I have money to spend, I guess it just wont be at Big Air. Too bad cause I was really interested in the Samurai.
  13. This is a pretty good checklist. I run through all of this several times before and in the plane. We should throw this at people who want to start with video just to give them some idea as to how many variables need to be thought of. And this is only prior to exit. Lots more needs to be done from air to ground yet.
  14. Yep, me to. I just heard from Icarus. They are still waiting on the demo to come back in so they can send it out to me.
  15. I read those web sites. Horror stories. That is why I prefer to buy from a store direct when spending that kind of cash. Unless I KNOW that the online store is reputable of which there are not many I know of.
  16. Yeah, I am going through this with Icarus right now. It seems like it takes them about a week to answer emails. However, Beezy from HIPER is always available. You know, customer service says a lot about a company......I will be demoing the Nitro this weekend.
  17. Yeah, I guess I wasnt really thinking about the freefly aspect of it. Good point though.
  18. I have not seen the still camera mounted on its side like that before. Is this a comon practice? I can see how it is fine on the digital cameras as the image can be rotated back to a "normal" view. But this would cause issues with a film camera right?
  19. Did you try adding a pocket to your existing slider? It can really do wonders and it's cheap. Quote I do not wish to simply mask the problem. Changing sliders, adding pockets, doing all this fancy packing is really only treating the symptoms. None of these solutions really solve the issue at hand. Therefore , and since I do videos, I will be simply purchasing something that is consistent.
  20. I have tried every thing that has been posted on this topic. Except a bigger slider. I have had MANY people try to pack this thing. I think I simply have the "lemon". So I am done with this canopy. I will be ordering a new one. I start demoing this weekend.
  21. Did you allow the faom to set up brfore taking out the camera. I think that was a pretty good idea. I have used spray foam before for molding things and have always had success. Describe the process you used when trying this.
  22. Actually I am getting a free (that is completely free) demo from HIPER. I will testing out the Nitro. Does anyone have any good info on this canopy?
  23. Stalling is fun, I do it all the time. Unless I am wearing my camera helmet. I can see all those lines getting snagged pretty easily.
  24. Yeah I have not had much luck with the night vision on my camera either. If I want to shoot at night I usually take a flashlight with me. I wonder why Sony would take something good and make it worse. Frustrating aint it.....
  25. From my experience with night vision on the PC-101, which in respect to night vision recording is pretty similar. I have found that with the wide angle lense, the light that the camera emitts does not use a wide enough spread. The light beam it projects is extremely narrow. Thus with the wide angle lense on, the viewable picture created from the wide angle lense goes outside of this light beam projected from the camera. Really, night vision works best with an external source of a low level light. Sony actually sells an external "night vision" light that projects a light beam that is wider and goes farther to help compensate for this problem. Like I said before, you really need to take off the wide angle lense if you are going to shoot night vision. Remeber, the wider the angle, the more pronounced this effect will be.
