  1. Travel enough, even with the the correct documents and you will still end up having to open it up or check it. I have had the TSA require me to open the main tray and in Australia they forced me to check it simply based on the weight. I know people that have had to open the reserve. As a rule I will just go ahead and check it unless I am going to a critical event. I carry on my Wingsuit and helmet which are impossible to borrow off someone else. It is all just part of the adventure. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  2. No chance! At least for these reasons: - you can easily lose GPS signal - there is no warning that the battery level is low I actually have a "pull that shit" alert on mine but that is more of a joke as I also have 2 audibles. 4. What I think makes the biggest difference is when wingsuiters and TI's talk prior to the load and agree on the holding area for tandems and the opening area for wingsuiters. The wingsuiters can normally go more or less upwind. It starts to get complex when there are also a lot of wingsuit groups on the load, and in that case they are better off on a fun jump load with no tandems. 5. Skydive Arizona is your best bet for weather. But where is youur rig being made? Going to the shop where your rig was made is always fun. Florida mainly Deland has a bunch of shops within walking distance. The funny thing is it is sometimes cheaper to pick up gear from the state where it is NOT sold! Shipping is often cheaper than the taxes you would pay if you pick it up. Strange but true, depending on the state and value, etc. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! 6. I would suggest a nice winter trip to Zhills for some world class coaching from US Gold Medalist Travis Mickle! We also have lots of suits available there. Also you should put Flock N Dock on your calenendar as it is a great event to learn jumping with others. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 7. There were a handful of these at US Nationals last week and they did well in the hands of capable pilots. I fancy taking one out for a spin! Nice finishing touches and attention to details. Edit: Oops. Just saw the promo posts about this! My bad. It looks a lot like a Jedei which probably explains why some pilots crossed over so easily to it. 8. If we can accept that handles getting sucked in is a real but rare possibility then what is the appropriate wingsuit body position for an AAD fire do you think? Head down? Instability? I think I would pick head downish to avoid line twists. It would be a slammer but they are designed to open at terminal. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 10. all of them If rigged incorrectly then any suit can eat your handles. I have done that more than a few times when rigging for a short call. I always found it on my gear check after gearing up but it is easy to do and highlights why multiple checks are important. Assume you rigged incorrectly and check. It is also worth checking under canopy to see how often your handles might be moving or getting trapped without you realizing it until you need them. Personally I much prefer the cable design over the zippers for these kind of suits. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 11. Up to 25% of the people not flying in their slot. Thats so ridiculous... I thought that not crossing that virtual line was the challenge, and part of the skill and fun. :-/ I guess I don't understand how that is in any way an improvement over the grid that had a bit of overlap for all flyers. It just seems to be a way to reset records and start everything over again. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 14. When selecting your main size you want to consider dropzones you might visit and not just your home DZ. It is a piece of cake to land a 150 over and over again at a sea level DZ with a big landing area, take a road trip to the mountain states and jump into a smaller landing area and you might be regretting a smaller canopy. Most skydivers end up hitting a few boogies and you will see a lot of injuries once people get away from what they know. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 15. The Foghead is rooted in the R Bird which in turn is a modified Raptor, they all are in the same family. If you are current and confident on a Raptor then a move to a Foghead should be pretty seamless. my problem is I'm 6 foot 4" 260 pounds without gear. I just get left in the dust on the Raptor. am I going to see enough performance increase with a fog is to make it worthwhile The Foghead has slightly bigger arm wings than the R Bird to balance it out. Travis dominates in it and he is shorter and only slightly lighter than you, which means with the extra surface area you would have from your height it should work our nicely. The Raptor just isn't a modern wingsuit anymore and a new generation suit of the same scale will perform a lot more. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 17. If you have been mostly flocking then I would just stick with the Havoc for now and get used to "maxing the crap" out of it. Only move up to a bigger suit when you are getting consistent and even boring results from the suit you already know. A smaller suit makes you really work for it and feel what every part of your body is doing. When you get to the bigger ones a lot of that becomes a more blended feeling and you won't know what subtle changes to make to get the most out of it. 19. I think it is a shame that such a subtle change in the grid voids so many old records. We had a blast running around the country setting state records in the "old daze".

  21. It will help if we know where you live, that could make a big difference to the recommendations you get. You might still be advised to travel somewhere but at least you will get closer options. 22. That's the thing, I *think* the energy has to go somewhere. If you flare and get a very slow vert then you will probably find you have a pretty decent horizontal speed. In my mind you are always splitting about 100mph between vertical and horizontal. I think of pulling in full flight as being similar to pulling out the door of a King Air and not a C182. 23. I read something recently, I think by Matt Gerdes, about angle of attack during deployment. I thought he made some good points about keeping speed up during a full flight deployment to reduce burble size. I have personally witnessed a HUGE flare with a freepacked, slider off deployment that still resulted in line twist. I think keep the speed up (less flare) and you have a better chance of a clean opening. The problem is you can't do too many of those in a day. One day in the future we will have wingsuit specific containers that will be designer for full flight opening, until then it is all a comprise. disclaimer: my openings along these lines are still a work in progress and are far from recommended for beginner or casual wingsuiters. 25. Sorry for the late notice, I spaced on posting this. We have a Paralog Performance Camp at CSC this weekend. It is aimed at all levels and will include detailed explanation of each task with coaching. We are going to try and film some runs. Suit doesn't matter for this as it is about strategy and technique rather than winning. Travis, Feather and Simon will be coaching. The other benefit is that those planning to come to USPA Nationals will get a chance to scope out the DZ, which is awesome. http://events.skydivecsc.com/wingsuit-performance-flight-coaching-camp Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4!
