  1. Strange but true. After the Judges went through all jumps from the day it turns out we got a 28 way! :) Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  2. It reads a bit confusing. It means 10% of the number of jumpers from 45-65 but then after that the number just represents the number of jumpers, not a %. So 50 allows 10% which is 5. But then 66 is 8. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  3. Aerodyne color marks their lines for this reason and it does make packing a bit faster and more confident for me. I will also add this. I never fully could visualize what I was doing in a pro-pack until I learned to flat pack where I could see what the canopy and lines looked like when laid out. It made a HUGE difference for me and can be done on a weather day. You don't need to put it in the bag from a flat pack you just see if in a different way. At least I did. 4. I guess it they were mounted in the leg wing it would reduce drag and get the spinny parts away from the critical body parts! Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  5. +1 on the drag, but I think it is all good stuff to play around with because the future is in there somewhere. Looks fun too! Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  6. I have exited rear float a lot and have a lot of video where someone has a bad exit. They tend to go shooting off in just about every direction but forward. I have not looked at all of the video in a scientific way, but it appears people can go any number of directions in unpredictable ways. If those outside the aircraft start turning 90, then those that get out late on a larger group will be turning more than 90 to go back toward the formation. That is a common flight profile for a bigway, and there is nothing wrong with it as long as everyone has the skills. I have seen some people present to the wind in a terrible fashion, trying a diving exit when they were not skilled for it. I agree with turning off of the flight line. I want to be careful not to do it too sharply and make things more difficult for those that follow. Surely there is a good balance in there somewhere. We need to find it. I think we are agreeing but just to clarify that "forward" isn't really where the formation is when existing on the line of flight. The group is below and behind. It's true that they could be spat out in any direction but one way or another they are going down at a high rate of speed. If the others already exited and flew a 90 then there is very little chance that a spinner out the door can hit them since the should be moving away from jump run in a hurry. Unless they also had a bad exit...then all bets are off! I can say that in all exits I have seen with a solid turn out the door I never saw a spinner come close to the formation at all. For those staying on jump run I have seen some close calls that scared the bejesus out of me. I have made the personal decision not to participate in any groups that don't make at least a 45 out the door, but preferably a 90. It is a bad setup for a formation flight anyways...let alone the dangers. If enough people refuse to jump a "line of flight" formation then we should reduce that part of the issue. 7. The examples I have seen very specific situations. I have seen advanced wingsuiters carve around non wingsuit groups. I have also seen acro pairs carve head down. Bust it out on a group jump and you likely won't get invited to join em again! There are a few that do it well and the rest aren't ready for it. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! 8. I don't think it is correct to use the word "failed" on a skydive unless something went VERY badly wrong. You logged a jump, you learned something and if you are lucky you have a reason to make another one to try and improve on the fun. Keep it up, all of us have a story of learning and as long as it never stops then the fun just keeps on coming. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 9. I like a solid 90. The reason a 45 could be justified in some cases is if the plane doesn't want to give you a long spot you might need to start on a 45 and carve it around. It isn't ideal but sometimes we have to work with what we get. You might want to avoid putting newbies or unknowns in that scenario. Trying to build a group up jump run really makes it harder for the guys getting out towards the back as the formation is below and behind them. It's much easier to just angle and dive on a formation than put on brakes. The goal is to get away from jump run and the next folks exiting. I have seen plenty of unstable exists and they all went down and with the throw of the plane, not very far either side of jump run. Since it is skydiving shit could still go wrong but I think it sets the jump up for lower risk in the approach phase. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 10. Just another few days before ticket sales cease! Also, very important, this is now an AAD Mandatory event. I sent an email to everybody that registered already but don't want anyone to be surprised. The dropzone itself is not AAD mandatory and you would be able to fly without being organized, but all organized jumps will require an AAD. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! 11. That makes sense, I was focused on being unconscious but a spin that you are fighting makes for a valid scenario. Thanks. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  12. That's a bad ass wingsuiter making a very difficult move look easy! Also, there were no other wingsuiters around to "pop" into, which is good. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  13. What is the evidence to show that a wingsuit AAD is needed for either of these scenarios? In one case the AAD fired and in the other there was no AAD. I know of wingsuit unconscious saves where the AAD functioned as designed. There was even a guy the other month that went head down on purpose to activate his AAD, can't remember the reason. If there is evidence of an unconscious wingsuiter still flying a suit outside of AAD firing parameters I would love to hear/see it. I will be happy to be wrong if I can see some facts. Loss of altitude awareness is where a wingsuit version could be relevant but I know of almost no examples of that being an issue in wingsuiting. The last one I can remember was in Moab and that was almost a decade ago. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 14. A tracker is pretty different from someone who has just fallen off and that scenario makes a lot more sense, but I still wouldn't use the word "easy". Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  15. I can't imagine why you use the word "easily" in this context. It is hard enough to stay with a rodeo let alone swoop down and pickup a non-wingsuiter. Maybe we are thinking of something different by "fallen" and maybe different suit choices, like almost no suit at all? Can you describe the scenario where you have seen this happen? 16. Not necessarily related to all of these incidents but I have noticed a bad habit amongst newer wingsuiters where they are not turning out of the door. It is my belief that a turn of at least 45 degrees and ideally 90 degrees solves 2 problems for a group: 1) Gets the group off jump run so that if an exit goes bad the group is not underneath the plane. 2) Sets the divers up for success so that they can actually dive instead of having to put brakes on to kill altitude and speed getting back and down to the base. I also think that we have a growing number of 3D formations that could be a factor but if planned correctly shouldn't be. In general we also have more wingsuiters, so therefore there will be more wingsuit incidents too. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 17. After thinking about it the shoe lace theory seems a bit of a stretch as I would think it should be contained in the bootie. RSL something seems valid... Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com

  22. The Pilot7 wouldn't be a wrong choice by a long way. I really enjoy it and I witnessed a lot of wingsuiters demo it at Flock n Dock and heard great things. For the record, I have a sponsored Pilot7 but I like it so much I purchased a second for my other rig. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 25. Each to their own. I ask you only one favor, the day you do have to chop it, please be honest and report back here. For anyone else reading this and considering a Stilleto I would advice reading the following. A few things went wrong in this example but the main canopy certainly didn't help. http://www.dropzone.com/fatalities/Detailed/502.shtml http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3823178 Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4!
