My advice is you want to invest in a Flysight to get the best idea of your performance. You will get some advice on how to set your alto...but nothing beats the raw data you get from a Flysight. It isn't a cheap event, but neither is skydiving. It is a great theory if you have somewhere to go with all that energy. Too many people have boxed themselves into corners where all that energy can't be used to outfly the landscape. The danger is when you have it going on you feel like you can outfly anything, but you often can't. It's a trap. I don't think people are dying because they fly too close and hit the earth. Granted I don't have anything like as many jumps on the Colugo as on my old Vampire but I still think the V-series leg pouch is the quickest way to get rid of a PC. Yes, the Colugo is easy and reliable to reach, but you have to reach further and you have to reach in a certain way. Grab-and-gone from a leg pouch can happen in a eye-blink. I bet they said the same thing to Bill Booth when he first played with the hand deployment. I can see a use for this in BASE but I also am a big fan of having a single deployment method. Either way I think it is good to see people experiment with options. Rarely does the first plan work but often you learn something along the way. I am seeing similar experiments with canopies that are within the leg wing. All interesting stuff but I would rather watch for now! S-Bird is a wonderful suit, I am biased, for the longest time I preferred the performance of an S over any of the bigger\faster suits available. Apache Scorpion is now my goto suit but it is modeled on an S. You have to ask yourself "why" you want another suit. If it is just to have another then go for it but if you have something in mind better to speak up. An S has a lot of range, it takes everything the R does but does them better. It doesn't do anything that the R doesn't already do, it just does them better. If you want to do aerobatics and back fly you should look elsewhere. In my opinion, performance on an S is directly relative to the time you put in on a smaller suit before you upgrade.
