  1. This is nice. Looks like a lot of research was put into those lines. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  2. Agreed but due to their weight it might be a goal for them to get to a larger suit where a lighter\smaller persons goal would be a smaller suit. By larger I don't mean HUGE. I think the inverse is also true. A lighter jumper in a huge suit is actually trying to drive fabric with drag beyond their ideal WL. There is such a thing as WL in wingsuits for sure and surface area\size needs to be respected just like canopy progressions should be. Just like canopies there is more to it than just sq ft. Once the tail goes below the feet such as an S Bird things suddenly can get more radical, just like a large elliptical canopy does. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! 3. I had a P2 and switched to an R-Bird...just saying. Doesn't hurt to beg, borrow or rent to try a few suits. Would you buy a canopy without trying one? Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com

  5. A P3 and R Bird are both all around great wingsuits, you see them everywhere for a reason. There isn't a single wingsuit that is great at everything, one day you will have 2 or 3 in your closet. If you ordered either suit you will be just fine. Its like deciding whether to get a SabreII or Storm for a first personal purchase canopy. 7 or 9 cell? Different but both just fine. 6. Oh, how I wish that were so. Check the attached pics of a brand spanking new S-bird placed over my old S-bird. You'll note it has innie-outie zippers. That isn't an S-Bird or Bird series. It is the Apache Scorpion which was called an S2 during prototying. Note, no Bird in the S2. If you get an I Bird, T Bird, R Bird, S Bird or X Bird you won't get the innie option and there will be zippers attaching the arms to the body. and yes...it is very confusing! 8. It doesn't sound like a step backwards, it sounds far more secure. What if you could combine both somehow? Use a zipper to quickly set the suit/harness relationship to where it should be, but then use cables or tabs with snaps to somehow lock it in place securely, the same way the old cable/tab systems locked things in place. That would give you the speed of zippers, but the security of tabs. It would work for a lot of people I think. I know on my rear zippers there is velco\tab to hold it in place but 9 times out of ten opening forces move it up. You need that "give" to prevent damage to the suit. One of the things to consider are the forces at work on these zippers during opening. A few have blown out maybe from opening or maybe a defective zipper. I think it looks better also because it can match the color of the body instead of just black or white options. Looks are what matters right? Don't get me wrong, I am not a designer, I just know this subject because I went through a lot of modification to my handle system until I was very satisfied. 9. For TonySuits NONE of the *Bird series is changed at all, the design of the wings to body doesn't even lend itself to the benefits. Only the Apache series of suits has this design and then you only need it if you are going to use it for skydiving. It used to be that I preferred the X3 over the Apache* because of the handle solution, now with the cable I prefer the Apache as I find really puts the handles in a prominent position. 10. The best innie\outie I have used to date doesn't use zippers but instead has tabs\cables. Sounds like a step backwards but it works, by skipping a tab and putting the harness through it becomes far less likely that a handle can get sucked inside. I had problems getting my zippers to stay snug around the harness and never felt really confident in it. I also like how the cable can expand during opening and reduce chances of a riser hang up on the suit creating line twists. All in all with the tabs I feel more confident in my handles being available than when I use suit\rig combos that aren't tailored perfectly for each other. When I get my suit back I will put up a photo. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  11. Just wanted to mention that Tony is touring around Europe right now and has some bad days getting on email. That would help explain the delay in him getting back to you personally. 12. I went from a P2 to R Bird and got big gains. Partly because the more jumps you put on a suit before you go up in size the more you can milk out of the larger suit. I think in BASE a better but still not huge suit to aim for is along the lines of S Bird or the new Apache Scorpion. You wouldn't want to get straight on an S but you could progress to it quickly. You would also want to jump it out of a plane enough to be able to get it stable quickly. The Apache Scorpion is the same size as an S and it performs at a similar level to the huge suits if flown correctly. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. 13. What a shame, I much prefer the form factor and button on the Contour to that of the GoPro. I guess I will have to treat mine with more care now! Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com
  14. My personal interest is to measure BASE starts in far more detail than a video or gps can currently provide. At 3 seconds exactly how far have I traveled and how much altitude have I burned? What about 5 seconds and 7 seconds. To answer your question that would mean that the "where" does not have to be exact but the details of performance would need to be trustworthy. * I am not saying that this is to measure MY starts...but it is to measure starts! 16. I was lucky enough to meet Jim on a visit to Gold Coast in 2008. I was doing a HALO jump and he was one of the guys on the load. Such a mellow fella that sent relaxing vibes through his eyes and smile, while at the same time being a wealth of experience. I visited again last year and he was one of the locals that instantly made me feel like I was at a home DZ. Sad for the dropzones that I know he had such an influence at. 19. I know that a buddy of mine (Kyle) was going to send his Raptor in to get the Bird modification. He tried a R Bird first and was so blown away he decided to get a new suit instead of just the mod. I have been having a total blast in the new TonySuit Apache Scorpion. It is a mini-Apache that is about the size of an S Bird but with the performance of an Apache\V5 suit. More agile and more forgiving in my opinion. At one point this was the S2 but it has been rebranded because it is really using more Apache technology than S-Bird. I expect it will be on the order form very, very soon. 20. What we are asking is that all wingsuiters turn up with a minimum of 15 wingsuit jumps. For fresh wingsuiters there will be the weekend and a few days before the event to get some quality jumps in. Everybody that registers has to give us jump number details so I am keeping an eye on those to coach individuals. However, the bigger change we are making is to add a lot more organizer slots so that we are able to have smaller groups for that that need\want more focused experience. Flock n Dock is a great place to grow your wingsuiting experience but it is not a good place to become a wingsuiter for the first time, too much going on in the air to have a lot of solo's flying around. So that we can keep the organizer:jumper ratio under control we are also limiting registration to 100 jumpers...and 41 are already taken! PS. Sorry for the delay...in Europe at the mo and not always much of an internet connection...seems to depend on the clouds and troll activity. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! 24. Last time I turned up at Elsinore I had a wingsuit briefing. Although not obvious I feel that it is a form of "interview". If the person you are briefing doesn't "get it" then clearly they have other issues. It is all about balance. They didn't ask to see my logbook, I expect they do in some cases. I have a stamp I used to use to give a FFC entry in a logbook. There is no reason I couldn't do that on a card to be carried instead of it being in a logbook. A FFC doesn't guarantee someone won't break your dropzone, just like a D doesn't guarantee someone won't hook in...but it is better than nothing. This is all interesting, but at the end of the day I do support the DZO's right to "refuse service". I wish we could have a reference list of dropzones and their special WS rules including bans or limitations. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month.
