  1. That's crap dude, being short is not a disadvantage. Jeff won our zhills distance contest as the shortest flyer in the finals, and I know plenty of people shorter than me who can outglide me, and I can outglide plenty of taller people than me. Also, if your short ass is at a disadvantage on your belly, howcome you're not at a disadvantage on you back? The only reason you aren't great at gliding is because you don't ever practice it. 2. Wrong again! Mexican Tony is NSEMN8R. Someone else flew the suit, who's name didn't get. I still can't fathom why Nick didn't just flying the thing himself. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  3. First, fly back to an offset from the spot, not the DZ. This will keep you away from canopies which may be open high, and still allow you to make it back. Then, just take your usable altitude and divide it in half. If you're getting out at 13,000 ft and pulling at 3, turn at 8k. Adjust for fatigue and wind drift. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  4. Tero was in round 2 with us as well, not Norm. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  5. Robi had a suit he was calling a VX that had a built up foam leading edge, a thinner airfoil, slightly larger leg wing, and extended grippers. The suit was pretty much in keeping with Robi's "More Speed!" design philosophy, and was faster than a V2 and more fatuging. It was my favorite suit to fly of the Boogie. 6. Congrats on a great event, Scott, and thanks to Robi, Rob, Chuck, and everyone else who made this work. I was really worried coming into this thing that it was going to turn into a grade A #1 cluster with the boogie and the bigway at the same time, but it all came off smooth as bits. I was on everything from a 48 way to a 2 way acrobatic jump, and flew 6 new suits from 4 manufacturers, and had a great time. Also, it didn't seem like we had a huge number more people than last year (maybe 15 more?) but the talent level was through the roof. Much better, cleaner, more precise and safer flying than 2.0. 4.0 is going to be amazing. Also, congrats to Jeff on the win. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  7. This is really not a very good idea. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  8. I'm getting into Tampa on midnight on Thursday, and flying out at 8:35PM on Sunday. I'd love to car pool if someone else is departing/arriving at these times. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  9. Awesome. Let me be the first to chip in a slot for whoever that sad bastard is. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  10. Al, is there any information available about container sizing for these, or how big they are in comparison to the standard PD reserves? If I have a container sized for a 126R, will a 143 Optimum fit in it? How about a 143 Optimum in a container for a 113R? Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  11. April 21st and 22nd at Spaceland, come join the fun! Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  12. Sounds like a good time, I'll be there! If anyone is heading back to Tampa on Sunday night and would like to split rental car/gas costs, I've got a flight out at 8:35PM. PM me. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  13. A Spectre 170 does glide better than a Spectre 120. Scaling is a difficult challenge. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  14. Not into the tech stuff? Why's that? Do you find it easier to design the 'highest performance wingsuit' when all of your data is subjective? Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  15. You really shouldn't need too. The Prodigy has a wide enough leg stance that you should be able to do plenty of running with it fully hooked up. I fly my Prodigy with a Velo at 2.2 and have never had any trouble running out the landing with my leg wing in place. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  16. Actually, I think we're all interested in it, but the "bang for the buck" just doesn't seem high enough. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  17. I've got an Acro, not a Phantom, but it's the same system and the suit is rock solid. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  18. Only the Vampires come standard with a BASE pouch, as they're the only suits which need it. There's no pull interference from the arm wing on the Phantom, so a BASE pouch is pretty pointless. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  19. The back vents are a must, but don't bother with the base pouch or mylar. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  20. Awesome. On the other hand, I may have to go to Norway with El Diablo. We shall see how my funding is looking. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  21. Ferry fee for the speciality aircraft. Tailgate, Powered parachute, maybe balloons, last year boasted Mullins and a PAC750 XL. The TShirt is free. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  22. Only if you're from Mexico. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  23. No, they don't, and that's the problem. Prospective students don't know how capable a prospective instructor is. You and I can jump with someone and make a judgement on their flying skills, and you and I can observe someone teaching an FFC and make a judgement on their teaching ability, but someone who has never jumped a wingsuit before, and may not have tons of skydiving experience in general, can't make those calls. They have to go on credentials, be it either an endorsement from experienced jumpers, or a rating. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  24. Check with Mikel, the owner of the Cafe. He's the most active wingsuiter in the area, AFAIK. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
  25. I believe she's rocking 500mm or 600mm Canon IS L glass. Spendy. I don't think she's using an extender. Little know fact: The white trail isn't smoke. It's actually a vapor trail forming because of all the heat generated by Voodew's ego as he passes through the air. True story. Ted Like a giddy school girl.
