  1. if someone at my dz would be like that to me i'd be like: "Hey missy, go in the kitchen and make me some pie!" or "Screw you guys i'm going home!" Depends on how i feel like at the moment "George just lucky i guess!"
  2. And at least 4000m of air "George just lucky i guess!"
  3. Ugh you look even hotter than before Man, blondes are appearing from nowhere. Better reschedule flight to florida sometimes this summer while blond is still in "George just lucky i guess!"
  4. compulsory rounds are only 2 rounds ( round 2 and round 5). The rules were slightly changed for 2004 so scoring is even more complicated, though compulsory rounds now consist of only randoms. so if you make 5 points in one of compulsory rounds, by formula MAX(LN((Number of points turned+1) ^ 4) – 2,0) you get: MAX(LN((5+1) ^4) – 2,0)= 5.1670 = 5.2 so your points would be 5.2 "George just lucky i guess!"
  5. Well i tried my first eliptical at around 210 jumps. i went from PD 9-cell 210 (wl 1:1) to Impulse-alpha 135 (wl 1.55) I also tried spark 190, cobalt 170, impulse 150 a couple of times before, but i was regularly jumping square 210 and transferred to elliptical 135 which was my regular from then on. And that was instructors idea not mine. he encouraged me for about 3 times. before i finally gave up and tried that impulse 135. I'm still alive jumping cobalt comp 120 (1.75) but am still wondering if i made the right choice

HAHAHAHAHAHAH great vid uhh, i can't stop laughing "George just lucky i guess!"
  7. All i can see here is snow, snow, snow, and again snow. Oh did i mention, clouds are at about 200 feet for more than 2 weeks "George just lucky i guess!"
  8. Well since you're already working on your double fronts approach... You don't need to pull them down so much that the canopy will attain maximum speed that it can with double front risers pulled down. (Each canopy requires different front riser input to attain maximum speed. Some need 10 inches, others need only 5. Depends on the design, size of the canopy, wing loading,... If you pull your front risers too far, not only it will not produce any more speed, you will actually loose energy for speed and lift because you'd create a step in a canopy which is not very effective wing shape) Figure out how much of front risers is that (do that up high) on your canopy. And when you are learning front riser landings, you don't need to pull front risers all the way to that point. you can pull them only 20% to that point (yes that can be only an inch or two). That way if you do miss your "Window", the mistake will be barely noticeable. Of course the speed/flare will also be barely higher if performed correctly, but better to do safe baby steps, than break a leg in front of everybody. When you learn how to land perfectly with 20% double fronts 3 times in a row, go to 40%, then 60%... When should you let your front risers? I read somewhere that you let of front risers a few feets above where you would start flare-ing at your normal straight in landing. But again it depends a lot on how much front riser input you gave... Hope that helps a little "George just lucky i guess!"
  9. Because of that stupid white cold thing called snow that covered our country. it's at least 20cm of it everywehre. and it just won't stop snowing. Where is the spring, cmon SUN work with me. Melt this stuff away, scatter the clouds and let us JUMP
  10. All you Sony micro mv IP5 or IP7 users. Apart from the hassle of using sonys software to get your videos from the camcoder to computer and incompatibility with mini DVs, how is the quality of a video? Is it noticeably lower quality than that of Mini DV (for example PC 105). Or is it just the same? I think they both (ip5 & pc105) have 690K actual video. Also does MPEG-2 compression lowers the quality? "George just lucky i guess!"
  11. So is it right to say: -The longer the recovery arc is, more "negative" or "weak" it will be -The shorter the recovery arc is, more "positive" or "strong" it will be. Leave all the technical stuff like wing loading, design of a canopy, trim,... I know it all contributes to the recovery arc and how strong or weak it is. But let's say you are watching from 100m away, are those sentences above correct? "George just lucky i guess!"
  12. Sorry i forgot about it. "George just lucky i guess!"
  13. Try watching your canopy, but at the same time watch in front of you too. Somewhat like when you're driving a car. You always look in front through your wind shield, but you'll see any change in the back mirror if it occurs. so you're watching straight forward and in the backview miror at the same time Ty doing that at the opening, watch the opening and in front of you at the same time
  14. I Use oxygn without visor for swooping. Well i intent to, i got it just two months ago. I'll also use it for RW but with the visor. "George just lucky i guess!"
  15. You break at 6000 feet . Huh i have most jumps out of 9000 feet. so my altitudes are: first (break) 4500 feet second(opening) 3300 feet third (my hard deck) 1700 feet I just had to learn how to track well enough, to have enough separation in 1000 feets and if position to tracking is changed correctly the high speed (FreeFly) can shoot you away for 300 feet in first second 2500 Feet for separation seems like a waste of working time for me Unless you break at 5k every time. "George just lucky i guess!"
  16. Speaking of golden rules My golden rule is: do everything from billvons list 5 times in a row without mistake and some more drills. And then do 1000 or more jumps doing HP landings so you really can't get any faster with your canopy, no matter what HP maneuver you do. then downsize. In short: Downsize when you want to go faster and with more risk. p.s: Ugh, i guess i'm stuck with this 120 for the rest of my life "George just lucky i guess!"
  17. Experience and currency:10 Canopy information:21 Training experience:8 Together: 39 Ah daemn and i though i'll be in at least "Scary" category "George just lucky i guess!"
  18. How about www.skydivingmovies.com It's up and running now
  19. What do they look like Are they completely circular, like someone would made them, or do they look like small tears. Because if they are completely circular, then they are probably made by manufacturer. i know i have quite few of those holes through my whole canopy in numerous (specific not random) places. They are about 0.5 mm in diameter. But i'm not a canopy designer so i'm not sure.. "George just lucky i guess!"
  20. huh on my dz average number of loads per day is 3-4, so i really don't have a choice but to make 4 jumps a day But when i get to a boogie where they do 16 loads per day, i gladly do 10 jumps
  21. You forgot to add exit altitude . A lot of DZs don't have turbines and can gain only about 9000 feet, which really sux if you're a freeflyer. "George just lucky i guess!"
  22. HAHA Sorry, that i'm laughing but 3/4 of a second isn't a long snivel. What could then i say, that have regular 4 to 6 seconds of snivelling . Actually it snivels 2-4 seconds, and then "slowly" opens in the last 2 seconds. p.s.: Unless you ment 3 - 4 seconds, then i'm "George just lucky i guess!"
  23. I use silicone too, but it got me thinking. Isn't silicone made to stick on rubber/plastic sort of material and not on metal/steel like our reserve ripcords are. So does it do any good at all, if you rub the reserve cable with silicone? "George just lucky i guess!"
  24. Does any of you has the will to type this questionary here, for us poor souls that don't get a parachutist in a mailbox every month "George just lucky i guess!"
  25. I agree, but doesn't longer recovery arc mean more airspeed in a dive? I mean if you turn a canopy so it's paralell to the horizon and then let go of both front risers, won't you gain more airspeed with a canopy that has longer recovery arc? "George just lucky i guess!"
