  1. well i did, sort of. "Sort of" is because i'm still learning to swoop with PD 215 at 210Lb exit weight. but i remember of some days that i wasn't able to "swoop" even once. mostly because of traffic. At our dropzone discipline about landing pattern is very or should i say extremly low! although jump master is always angry about that. Luckily most of the jumpers jumps with big or lightly weighted parachutes. so there are only few hot shots with fast canopies that can get hurt because of traffic. but they are smarter (with more experience) and know how to predict the traffic, i hope we don't even have a pond or anything. in times far far away from now we will have one, but in that time i will be the master of the sky too. well i got little carried away from the subject, but what i was trying to say is that Yes i'm also aborting "swoops" very often. the solution is i guess to separate those non swoopers landing area from landing area of those who swoop - and have all the same landing pattern (what i'm trying to do at our dropzone). but what do i know, i'm still a newbie at this discipline . "George just lucky i guess!"
  2. if money is no problem than i'd say go for AFF. i learned with s/l but that's only because i can't afford aff. Plus in our country (Slovenia) i don't know any skydiving school with AFF program. All i know is that a s/l method is a cheaper and longer lasting method. you need at least 10 jumps before you can fall for at least 10 seconds. you won't be able to wait for your first solo freefal from 12000 feet, well i know a barely survived "George just lucky i guess!"
  3. even a better idea is to make a program, some sort of a messenger, that would be minimized in a task bar, and changed color when new message arives... that would be great, because i'm questioning myself right at the moment if my boss is behind me "George just lucky i guess!"
  4. i think that you are correct. I started with static line jumping at 1200m (3500 feet). and when i proved to my teacher i can hold the box position, he said hold it for 3sec and then open and when i got that righ, 5sec, and then 10, and then full speed - 20 sec. of course we went higher for 10 and 20 sec jump. And after about 20 jumps (10 of them on Static line) i was able to fall stable at full speed. It's a longer way to progress to first solo freefall than AFF but the rush i had at first 20 sec dive can't be described. At my 10th jump i couldn't wait to hear the sound of the wind that rushes near your ears, and feel the ground rush ! But when starting with AFF. first of all it's much more expensive and second. Maybe someone who never jumped before (not even tandem) and haven't fly with an airplane, isn't ready to do it all, feel it all, at first jump. Static line is more like slow and easy progress. and AFF is exactly what it's called Accelerated! "George just lucky i guess!"
  5. i'm accasionaly jumping PD 210, because i don't have my own parachute yet. I Never rolled or pushed the nose anywhere. when it's all packed and before i roll the tail, i put the slider in front of the nose and make sure, that it will grab as much wind as it can. when the tail unrolls - at opening. and then i roll the tail tight about 6 - 8 times. 6. hello i read from a post that the best way to clean a harness is by hand with a woolite. I am from Europe-slovenia and none of the schampoos or soaps is called woolite. I'd like to know what kind of schampoo or soap is woolite? is it for cotton,silk,white,collored,agressive,... thanks "George just lucky i guess!"

    Big way

Thanks for the tips guys. Unfortunately some guys with more experience didn't jump because they realised that 40-way, with only 20 experienced skydivers isn't reality. So we jumped a couple of times from one airplane in smaller groups (14 - 18). I'm glad that 40-way was canceled because skydivers who were jumping couldn't hold together even 16-way! "George just lucky i guess!"
  8. I have similar problem in my left arm. But not because of sit flying but because i'm learning how to swoop (making a lot of front riser turns up in the air and one final near the ground). And this requires strength (at least with parachute i'm jumping with...). So maybe it's not sit flying all. "George just lucky i guess!"

    Big way

Next weekend 13.7-14.7 we are trying to make somewhere around 30 - 40 way from 2 airplanes. Depends on skills of skydivers. I'm sort of a newbie to such a "big" formation. and i am a little worried that most of them/us don't have enough skills for such a big formation. What are the main things that every skydiver has to look for in a big way, and what are the best things to do to avoid accidents if someone screws something up? I was flying 15-way a couple of times and everything was fine. But 40-way is almost 3 times bigger! First we will be flying 15 - 20 ways, for organizer to see if we can do it? For those who will say don't go if you're not sure you can do it, I think organizer will see if i can do'it and ground me if i can't. Otherwise I'll ground me myself . Thanks "George just lucky i guess!"
  10. What do you think about buying a full face helmet for freeflying. Someone said that when he took a full face helmet on freefly jump, it was harder to fly because of all the drag helmet produces in freefall. Is that true? "Do the monkey with me!"

    Flyng on my back

Can anyone please tell me to how fly on my back. Tracking on my back is no problem, but how to move forward, turn and change my fallrate. For example if i'd like to shoot a video of a formation from below. Any answer/advice would be helpful, thanks. "Do the monkey with me!"
