Looked pretty good from the trail AC too! This picture was taken october 2007 on the first day of the POPS WR series. And no, Bill Von hadn't been called up from the Alpha bench yet

For injuries that have soft tissue swelling I use ice (15 min on, 15 min off) for the first 2-3 days along with ibuprofin. After that heat.

Re: [The111] Fatality - Texas (Spaceland) - 12 March 2008

There is nothing "safe" about this sport. The airplane could fail, the gear could fail, your instructor could fail, you could fail. If you participate in this sport long enough you will almost certainly be injured, possibly even die. -
I'll see you in a few years!

Beginner question: AFF and then what?
jsaxton replied to jjulio's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
At Lodi you will have a Rated USPA instructor AFAIK. This is all the USPA requires. I believe that they will accept any jumps in your logbook that are signed by a USPA instructor. Better check with your dropzone though to make sure they honor these jumps. The USPA requires all students (people who don't have their A License yet) to jump at least every 30 days. If they bust that deadline a "recurrency" jump is required. -
If that is your concern just ask each dropzone if they drug test their employees, I know that Perris and Elsinore do.

Beginner question: AFF and then what?
jsaxton replied to jjulio's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Completing the AFF course does not get you your "Skydive card" This requires the USPA "A" License which is a minimum of 25 jumps. Once you have your A License you are free to spend half your income skydiving! -

POPS complete new FL state record
jsaxton replied to jsaxton's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The old guys completed a new Florida state record of 76 on the 5th jump of a 15 jump event. The completed formation was held for 4 seconds and change. Thanks to Tim Web, Carey Peck, Carl Dourghty, Jim Alkek and Skydive Deland for hosting this event. -
not unless you have two audio cards, and probably not then

Awesome Twin Otter Formation Picture
jsaxton replied to Skydive2's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
It always seemed to me that there should be more people in the air in that picture, the doors appear to be empty so I guess everyone is out. Oh well, I got cropped out of the skydive (again)! -
I know a few coaches who shouldn't be on anything bigger than an 8way. Kallend knows what he's talking about, there's an old saying in skydiving: "show up and shut up, you MIGHT learn something"

I imagine AOPA has a lot to say about it too! -
