Archie Gates: The way it works is, you do the thing you're scared shitless of, and you get the courage AFTER you do it, not before you do it. Conrad Vig: That's a dumbass way to work. It should be the other way around. Archie Gates: I know. That's the way it works.

How many are mechanical and how many are operations? The $100 hamburger crowd obviously doesn't have to deal with jump run issues like canopies over the tail, loss of rudder/elevator authority due to floaters and other things that happen on jump run. I'm not arguing, I have always believed that the plane will kill me before I burn in on a jump. I'm just interested what YOUR read is on the issues. Thanks, Jeff

Thanks Chris

You're fucking joking, call things out at MY DZ? Shit! My jump prices might go up! This is the attitude of most jump sluts.
-
Is this measured in hours or cycles?
-
Is that price for a 1 or 2?

Your instructor will answer all these questions. Depends on the Country.

I have an OJ HI5 5 blade SS prop on my barefoot boat. I put a 2 inch crack in one of the blades and no-one would touch it. Just be happy, a new HI5 is about $700

Sounds like you need to mix it up a little. What type(s) of jumps do you usually do? If you are primarily a belly flyer start working on improving your sit and head down. If you are a freeflyer you could join a 4 way team or start getting involved in bigways. Learn accuracy, try freestyle, try style, go for your PRO rating, learn to skysurf or birdman, try speed skydiving. There are a ton of things to do in the sky, you may not get great at all of them but it's nice to have some exposure to as many disciplines as you safely can.

This was an assembly error, not a packing error. Hopefully any rigger doing the first repack would have noticed the assembly error. -
How to get from LAX to Perris on April 30th for P3 (Or share rented car?)
jsaxton replied to mdrejhon's topic in The Bonfire
dude, I can probably give you a ride. -
EXACTLY! The safe minimum pack opening altitude will depend on the type of jump.
-
That one's too easy: Because you just DROPPED the first one!

Missouri Women's State Record

AFAIK the 3 second thing went away a while ago. Now all you need is to show the grips (as stamped) in a picture. -
It all depends on the jump. BigWays (outside slot) 5 3 1.5 FreeFly 5 3.5 2 Small RW 4 3 1.5

And people complain about the AFF requirements now.

There is an old skydiving saying: "there are two kinds of jumpers, those that have had a malfunction and those tht will". So unlike SCUBA where you prepare for a POSSIBLE problem in skydiving you prepare for an EVENTUAL problem"

1) take all the booze (hard liquer) in the house and pour it into a garbage can. 2) completely submerge lamb in booze for 12 hrs 3) take lamb out and coat in kosher salt and FRESH ground black pepper. 3) bake until intermal temp is 145F allow to cool and serve with mint sauceand sprigs of rosemarry .

Go to College, get a good job, you're gonna need it for more things than skydiving.
