There's an old story. A jumper is talking to a Wuffo, the Wuffo says "How much does it cost to jump?" The Skydiver says "twenty bucks a jump" The Wuffo says "WOW, that's not so much!" The Skydiver says "Only half my paycheck for the rest of my life ;)"

Private pilots flying jumpers
jsaxton replied to BillyMongilly's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Ah, so this would seem to cut out students and tandems (and observers) and the pilot has to pay for a lift ticket each load he flies. Well that sucks! It _may_ not cut out an unpaid observer, or even Tandems and Students. If the observer is not paying (not contributing to the pilot financially) this excemption _may_ still apply. If the Students are "members" this _may_ still apply. It the club does Tandems as a "fundraiser" for the club this _may_ still apply. The requirement I believe is that the PILOT dose not benefit financially, not the "club". Can anyone clarify? -

I believe that it's OK under (not a FAR violation) under some conditions (Private Club,...). Can anyone clarify this? -
Does anyone you jump with actually CARE if you're Jewish?

Sue him for damages in small claims court.

Hopeless probably but you can go after him for the deductible in small claims court.

I don't see any "shortage" like there was in the 70s if you are old enough to remember that. Hell I can buy all the petrol I want as long as I can pay for it. There isn't any shortage.

High Winds: Putting theory into practice
jsaxton replied to FlyingBlueJay's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
13-24 is dangerous no matter your experience level. That is > 10kts gust. While I may be comfortable jumping in 25kts (I learned at Byron) the winds must be steady for me to do that. A 10kt differential is too high to be safe. -
you don't HAVe to work there

Cutting corners? DUDE! ALL the tandem rigs are Brand New SIGMA The Otters have been recently overhauled. Free snacks and rubber bands. I don't see any corners being cut.

Why don't you instead get some more experience and let this thread which contains incriminating evidence die for a while before you try it.

I seriously doubt if they are doing any deep packet inspection on your VNC sessions. They should be able to see that you're using VNC to your home, but that's about it.
