  1. Over the past few months I've seen George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, and Carlos Santana. All were great shows. Next month I'm going to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  2. It's been a damn good couple of days!!! My project from the weekend - the Sack Sak "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  3. I've had a similar experience except that I know exactly what caused it. I made a series of stupid decisions that led to me landing 20 feet behind a row of trees in strong winds. My canopy collapsed when I was about 10 feet off the ground and I was lying on my back before I could do anything. I hobbled back to the hanger before they made me lie down while they called an ambulance for fear that I could have damaged my spine. I got lucky and had no injuries besides a sore back and bruised ego. Since then, I've been a lot more careful about jumping in strong/irregular winds. 4. That's incredible. Thanks for sharing. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  5. If you're in the air at the same time as him, you do have to deal with him under canopy. Canopy collisions are a major problem and having an inexperienced canopy pilot flying a canopy that's too small and too fast for him/her is a danger to everyone in the air. 6. You'll know its winter in Florida when there are a lot of skydivers from the northern parts of the country. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  7. I know what you're going through. Until this season, I lived in California and had great jumping weather all year. Now I'm in Oklahoma and am not looking forward to what may be a slower winter. I plan to take plenty of trips to warmer weather. Good luck. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery

    Question #3

Skydiving was something that I had talked to my friends about but never thought I would actually go through with. Then one day a friend called me and said that she was going skydiving and invited me to join her. I thought "Why the hell not?" and went expecting to do one jump and be good for the rest of my life. Before my feet hit the ground I knew that skydiving was something that I needed to do again and again. I'm so thankful to my friend for inviting me to go because it opened a new world full of great times and some of the most amazing people I ever met. Do you regret??

I recently made a big life change. It hasn't put me exactly where I want but its allowed me to meet a lot of great new people and experience a different way of life. I don't see myself staying in my current situation for very long, but while I'm here I'm going to make the best of it. No regrets. 11. They won't take away your passing levels. You will likely have to do some refresher training on the ground in addition to the coach jump. Welcome back! Have fun and stay safe! "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  12. ***It looks like the only "always" phone carriers are the lower jump number jumpers who dont trust themselves to land on DZ. I trust myself to land on the DZ, but I've listened to enough horror stories from the "good old days" to learn that sometimes shit happens and I want to be prepared. 13. I usually carry my phone with me just in case I land off. I'd rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  14. I just started flying a wing suit and want to get a longer bridle. Should I contact Mirage or are there other options? Thanks. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  15. Good for you! Best of luck! "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  16. I had similar issues when I was getting started. I started doing yoga and it helped a lot. I became a lot more aware of how I was positioning my body. It also helps you breath and stay relaxed when you are under stress. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  17. Start with an RW suit and build your belly skills. If you decide to start freeflying later, you can get a freefly suit at that time. I fly a Bev Suit and have been very happy with it. Tony Suits also make a great product. I'm pretty sure that flat grippers is an option that you can get on either suit. Contact the companies and they can answer any questions you have. 18. Baseball players are a lot more athletic than most people give them credit for. Games last about 3 hours and are played just about every day for a 6 month season. Running, sliding, hitting, and throwing all take their toll on the body. All that being said, there are some baseball players that are not in peak physical condition and I think that tips the scale (no pun intended) towards hockey. 19. My parents were not thrilled with me taking up skydiving. I invited them to the DZ to watch me jump and that helped a lot. They were able to talk to some of the instructors and get some questions answered and they watched me have two stand-up landings (probably the most pressure I've ever felt to stand one up). After they spent some time at the DZ, they told me that they were more comfortable with it because I knew what I was doing, I was surrounded by experienced instructors to give me advice, and they saw just how happy it made me. They still weren't excited about me jumping out of planes, but they were okay with it. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  20. Talk to your instructors. Their opinions are the ones that should really influence your decision. Having said that, I would wait to buy gear. You should get gear that is right for you now and the gear that is right for you now is probably not going to be right for you in 50 jumps. 21. I got to demo one a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed. It was very comfortable and I like how securely it closes. I ordered one and am hoping to get it in the next couple weeks. You should demo any full face if you have the opportunity. If you don't, at least try it on and make sure that it is comfortable for you. A helmet that fits me nicely might be uncomfortable on you and you don't want any distractions when you jump. 22. I usually wear shorts and a t-shirt under mine. In the winter, I'll wear Under Armour Cold Gear and that's usually enough. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  23. Best I've seen is Skydive Switzerland in Interlaken. After that is Skydive Santa Barbara. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  24. Great job both in completing the level and sharing it with the rest of us! I really enjoyed the canopy with line twist. I always keep an eye out for your new posts. They really brighten my day. You should start posting this in the Bonfire so that more people can enjoy it. "I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
