  1. I like seeing them in skirts and high heels when they get off the bike though
  2. 0:8:0 5 H&Ps while putting out 15 S/L students. 2 coach jumps and 1 solo jump for me practicing sit flying.
  3. I say we put VB and O together and finally get all that tension out of the way. And we can find out if either one bites as well as they bark
  4. lol I really wanted to say that but also... the farm has 4 sleeper couches and a team room.
  5. First time landing at my DZOs house (has a small field and strip next to his house) I set up over the trees and aborted thinking I was too high and then realized I wasn't and now couldn't make it back over the tree tops. I flew over the swimming pool then turned a flat 180 about 100 feet up and started flying up the drive way. I made it to about 10-15 feet off the ground before my end cell clipped a tree branch and I fell. 4 stitches over my right eye and an extremely bruised ego. edit to add: I was returning to the party from doing my first demo that went amazing at a high school football field. I paid a lot beer that day. (first demo, first time at the DZOs birthday party, first time jumping into the LZ (of course I didn't actually make it on the LZ,) first injury, and 2 cases for the guy that did my stitches ) Most expensive free jump I have made.
  6. Yet if they have thought to lock down the bios, I'm sure they will have added an administrator password... my favorite is still people using WEP on their networks.
  7. shh... don't tell people to make their computers more secure.

    GPS Spotting

I know how to spot, I work at a 182 dropzone. Beyond that when I'm at a DZ with a GPS and set procedures I follow those. If red means "open the door" and green means "get the hell out," that is what I do. If you're first group out you should be keeping an eye on the spot before the door opens, and checking everything else before it turns green. You should be ready and leaving the plane within a 2 or 3 seconds. And for those that are waiting for a "better" spot then the pilot gave them. Get over it. Either it is WAY off, or it is good enough... if it's way off then say so. Otherwise GTFO.
  9. On top of those methods you can also boot to a linux live cd and delete the SAM (password) file.
  10. I can't see the video at work but from everyone's comments I'm assuming we're talking about lane splitting... I'm all for it if done safely. Miller let me give you an example you will understand since I was stationed at Hill with you. You know the traffic leaving the west gate EVERY afternoon. I split that almost every day. All the way to the stop light, then when the light changed I would split to the next stop light. I did it a lot on I-15 too. Think about leaving SLC in the afternoon or going in the morning. You know that traffic is at a standstill. I had to keep an eye out for cops though because it is illegal in Utah.
  11. Buy my GSXR 750 its the perfect beginner bike Seriously, I need to sell it though.
  12. Damn...And I could have sworn that oath had something about the Constitution in it-which the CIC only has a passing relation with umm... the oath I took went something like this: I, Ryan Lucus, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So my order of allegiance is as follows, 1) The Constitution 2) The President 3) My superior officers Now as long as any higher number doesn't tell me to do something that directly goes against a lower numbers orders, then there is no problem. And it has never happened to me. And changing a mission or canceling a mission is not "not being allowed to complete the mission" it is no longer the mission. Get over it. We get 2 times to disagree and anything other than those 2 times we're SOL, every four years when we vote and every other so many years when we are asked if we want raise our right hand and say that oath again.
  13. For those airplanes it is usually between 13 and 14 thousand costing between 23-25 dollars.
  14. It depends on how often you move and how long you were in your last home... as a kid I never lived in the same place for more then 3 years (not the same city and all but once, not the same state). As an adult, I've never lived in one place for a full year, (except one dorm room that was 1.5 years but was split in the middle by 6 months in Iraq, hell even that felt like home after a month)
  15. I think they were referring to the fact that is is spelled "dropping" Any ways of the 9 DZs I've been too... by far the best facilities in general is the Farm, with Skydive Oregon in a close second.
  16. Giving or receiving? umm... Cheach is a chick, I don't think it's called blow if she is receiving
  17. Yeah the book hrs can easily be beaten in some instances and don't come close on some others... In those cases we would over quote to compensate. We never charged more than the original quote, but we often charged less. (We also happened to be the only shop open on Sundays in Utah :P )
  18. I'd like to start with this smells of troll. But I'll feed... Compare it to a nice restaurant, you pay a lot of money and guess who gets the least amount from your bill... the very person who you interacted with the most and a waiter doesn't make a living from his paycheck. Now compare that to a Tandem Master, (which by the way, has spent ENORMOUS amounts of money and time to earn that position) He only makes at the most $20 from your purchase because skydiving is an expensive business (a medium sized jump plane like the Cessna Caravan costs $1,000,000) He has to perform the job of a tour guide, a teacher, and an entertainer. All while putting up with being kicked, scratched, head butted, and occasionally thrown-up on. Along with the extra physical abuse a tandem rig causes from regular gear. They do it for 2 reasons, they love the sport so much and love sharing it with other people or they can't afford to pay for a sport that they can't give up. They won't add in gratuity (like unfortunately some services have been reduced to being required too) They don't even expect it, but they damn sure appreciate it. Can you honestly not afford another $20? /rant No I don't even work in a field that could be tipped, but I think too many people in too jobs aren't being tipped when they should be. Pleasing people isn't easy.
  19. I don't remember seeing cutaway on that list... but I don't have it with me so I can't check.
  20. I used to help out in a small car shop in the afternoons for a couple years and it is hard because I see both sides... I could never pay someone $70-$90 an hour to do mechanic work because I know it isn't that hard. But on the other hand I'm not working on your (if your not my friend) car for less than $50 (at my house) because my tools are expensive and I've spent a lot of my personal time learning about cars. Same thing with computers and networks. Yeah %99 percent of your computer problems are very easy to fix. You know why? Because I have spent endless amounts of my personal time researching, tinkering, hacking, and fixing things. My short answers are free, plenty of information to get you on the right track to fixing your own problems. My tools are freely lent out, and I give my time away to anyone I consider a friend (but you damn better be willing to put in your time too i.e. car work) I apply this to skydiving coaching too... unfortunately for me I consider all jumpers my friend... so I've never asked any student to even cover my slot.
  21. We do this when our camera man isn't busy. They usually buy it.
  22. I knew 7 of them without looking it up...
