  2. I'm not sure why every one wastes their time telling you to search the forums. Most of that information is old information. Things change. You can expect to pay upwards of $6000 for new gear. Used gear can be anywhere below that. Most places don't offer financing. I know a lot of people that take out personal signature loans but for the most part I think people just save up for it.....or sell their car or something. Bigway's deal sounds pretty good but I think he is down under so if you're in the states that might not work out but I really don't know. There probably are other places that will work with you but probably not very many.
  3. I would get the 1450 for the CX100. It would give you plenty of room to bury the camera and also store the charger, cables extra batteries etc. It's roughly the size of a brief case but a little deeper. I have one for my Bose Soundock Portable. I use a much larger Pelican for my camera helmet and other stuff. The Pelican is an awesome way to transport and protect your stuff. Especially cool is the "pluckable" foam to custom fit what ever it is you want to fit.
  4. Since the Rok doesn't have a flat area on the side I think you're setting yourself up for snagging a line. You could bolt the box on there somehow but I wouldn't do it. Buy a helmet that's made for a side mount. Something like the 2KC FF3 or the Tonfly CC1. Be safe.
  5. I've had no image stability problems with the CX100. Any camera with a hard drive is NOT an alternative for skydiving. Hard drives don't work with the fast pressure changes involved with skydiving. Save yourself a lot of hassle and just go out and buy the CX100.
  6. I've had both. Go with the N3.
  7. The whole movie from beginning to end is simply bad ass.
  8. good thing you saved all that money by not using a box.
  9. Did you actually jump it like that?
  10. I'm just kidding......kind of.
  11. What are you talking about Pilot T Shirt? WTF? I'm going to have to put in an emergency call to Sandy for this. Nobody ever asked me if I wanted a Pilot T shirt.
  12. Yeah that looks a lot better. I really like the all black thing you've got going on there. Looks good!
  13. How come I keep hearing otherwise from so many people...? I wonder what you hear and from whom? I know many people that have demoed the Pilot and every single one bought one. There really is no comparison to the Sabre 2 or the Safire 2. Of those the only thing I came up with better is the butter soft opening of the Safire 2, but the Pilot has a very similar opening. I have heard only a few bad things about the Pilot. The interesting thing is it came from someone that's never jumped one. I have 2 myself. One for each rig. The second one I got wasn't quite right. It just didn't have the "performance" that the first one had so I sent it back after 20 or 30 jumps and they gave me a new one. PD would never have done that. I've since bought a third Pilot but this one is ZPX. I have not flown it enough to make a determination on any differences. It sure does pack nice. It is my understanding that I'm the only person that's jumping equal sized Pilots in ZP and ZPX on a regular basis.
  14. Really? I think you may need a lesson in aerodynamics as well Mr. Billvon. Your statement would only be true in a vacuum.
  15. Ditto what Virgin said.
  16. Paying it forward doesn't mean don't ever charge for anything ever again. Most people that are great skydivers don't do anything else. Skydiving IS their job. I think you're being a little too literal and harsh. Coaching for a living and selling your skill are two completely different things in the context that Vertifly is using. Read his post again.
  17. And a 19 year old girl does? Hmmmm.
  18. You should explain a canopy transfer to someone with only 100 jumps.
  19. I'm thinking of putting something together on the island in the near future with a Caravan. It would be experienced fun jumpers only and on an exclusive prepaid basis. I'm thinking of limiting it to about 12 or so people and keep it fun for 1 or 2 days. Pay by the day instead of the jump. If you make all of the loads then great if not then oh well. We would shut down between each load and give everyone plenty of time to pack and dirt dive or whatever. This would be a no profit private hire deal. There's several from SSM that have expressed interest. Sean will be back in March doing tandems again so I'm thinking of right after Christmas. If you're interested PM me.
  20. I was able to get one jump in yesterday and hopefully a few more this afternoon. If you are relatively close it is worth the trip just for the view only. One word: awesome.
  21. There's a few riggers in San Antonio that don't work at SSM. If you want to get a hold of one of them send me a PM.
  22. Yeah I kinda got scared myself!......Here's a little preview so everyone can see what you're talking about Jeff. Yikes!
