  1. Wow. A lotta stoked chatter on this throw down. I might have to show up to check it out!
  2. Indeed, and you should check yours before posting a lie. The post itself was NOT a lie. It simply states the facts. Who cares who wrote it? It amazes me how the pot calls the kettle black. Day after day we catch Obama or one of his cohorts telling another lie or truly distorting the facts. Pull your head out of your ass.
  3. That can be argued. It depends on where the airplane is when it loses its engine and highly dependent on the actions or reaction of the pilot. I've lost an engine in a 182. And I've lost an engine in a large turbine twin. Close to the ground I think I would rather be in the 182. Have you ever heard the old saying about the second engine getting the aircraft to the scene of the crash faster? Unfortunately it has been proven many many times. Don't think that just because you are in a twin engine aircraft you are safer because there is a point in each flight that you simply are not. I'm not sure about the student situation in this case but I do know that in an emergency the PIC is considered god..period.
  4. Forget the helmet. Just strap the CX100 to the top of your head with an old goggle strap.
  5. Damn dude. You don't waste any time do you? Hurry up and teach me too so I can join in
  6. Very rarely is this the case. You get the level of performance and professionalism that the job itself attracts and not what the pay attracts. I have over 100 employees on many different "levels" and have been through this many many times. I guarantee you that if you double the pay to the same person almost nothing will change. In fact it's proven that most likely things will deteriorate. Its the person, not the pay.
  7. I'm not sure why it's different where I am but cell service does not exist much above 1000 AGL. I've never tried to use my phone under canopy but I do try to use it on occasion while piloting my own aircraft. In most cases it doesn't work.
  8. Really now. I think I need to show you something. I guarantee you will retract that statement.
  9. So tell us fireballgrl......How do YOU like them? Inquiring minds would like to know!
  10. Not yet so far. I will not say it won't happen but I will say it is very secure.
  11. This may be so but the whole Hypeye D Pro will fit in the box including the cable along side the camera and, I might add, nicely so. It therefore can be fully contained in the box. The only thing that goes into the helmet is the indicator LED.
  12. It's all custom stitched before the rig is built by Julio Ruiz @ Liquid Sky.
  13. This will be my third Infinity. I-43 with everything. I won't actually have it for a few weeks yet but this is what it's going to look like. Thanks to Tony, Kelly and Julio Ruiz!

I'll tell you again. Liquid Sky is the way to go. Not only is the quality first class but also Julio answers his phone, he responds to emails and is available to make sure you get what you want. I have been through many suits and companies. Some are better than others but LS IMHO is the best. Julio designed a rig for me too that I should have in the next few weeks. Here's what it gonna look like.
  15. Although I don't have a Deepseed myself I've seen a few around. They seem to be well built and I've heard no complaints. Liquid Sky is excellent as well as Tony Suits. Ouragon is really sharp but I have not heard much of them lately and they are very pricey. The old adage "you get what you pay for" seems to be the rule for jumpsuits and not the exception. I personally have been through many jumpsuits myself searching for the holy grail and my favorite is Liquid Sky.
  16. Contador won in 2007 on his own merit on the Discovery Team with Johan Bruneel as the Directeur Sportif. Landis was stripped of the title in 2006 racing for Team Phonak. The win was given to Oscar Pereiro. Landis supposedly tested positive for testosterone. Contatdor did not ride Le Tour in 2008 because Astana was not invited due to doping allegations from the year before but really has nothing to do with the team as it is now or as it was last year when they were not invited. That's a whole 'nuther story.
  17. I had the same problem but "relaxing" for me was still too rigid. I had to think about turning myself into a noodle but still keep leg pressure to keep from back sliding. I also had to refrain from fighting and just let go of the air and go with the flow. It worked.
  18. I can see the value in that for big ways, where a certain canopy experience level is expected. But for the average weekend day at the average dz? Or for a boogie? Don't see it working so well. What if the wind direction changes while people are landing? Should the arrow be changed as well? What if it isn't changed and someone gets hurt landing downwind? What if it is changed and two canopies collide? Far too many openings for liability for the dz and the person tasked with pointing the arrow. Why not be a big grown up skydiver and determine for yourself which way you want to land? Don't like the direction others are landing in the main landing area? Land elsewhere. Speak up and preplan a landing direction with the others on your load - before you get on the airplane. Fly your canopy such that no one else will be on final when you are and it shouldn't be an issue anyway. Refuse to be in the air with people that you know are sketchy under canopy, or in chaotic situations (ie boogies). Am I responsible for my safety or not? I think I am, and that includes choosing the place and direction that I think is the safest for me to land. With all due respect this approach will get you killed. This behavior is consistent with what is happening at my dropzone lately. Free for all land what ever direction you want cluster fuck. If the wind is light and variable EVERYBODY has to land in the same dircection. I think there should be a standard for this set by the USPA. I quit jumping on no wind days because I value my life and the fact that my dropzone refuses to realize there is a serious issue that is being neglected. Personally, unless there's some kind of direction indicator, I think the first jumper down sets the pattern. Any thing else becomes too complicated.
  19. Yes. Forget about filling those gaps and buy one of these instead: http://www.2kcomposites.com/html/ff2.html Or something similar...Please?
  20. You can call Skydive Houston to be sure. I know I was around that weight (body builder) at Skydive San Marcos going through AFF and I've seen several more big boys come through over the past few years.
  21. Very nice......tear jerker. I suggest you send this to Lance Armstrong. He would put something like this up on the LAF website in a heartbeat.
  22. Sony CX-100 with a Century .55 lens.
