  1. as you can see those helmets are useless for any sort of impact protection and a waste of money. Every cookie helmet comes with a warning sticker saying that they "offer the wearer NO impact protection". If you want protection get yourself a bell mountainbike helmet that has 1 inch of high impact foam protecting your skull.
  2. get them to pay via paypal, very safe and easy. i would recommend that u tell them you are not sending the item without fully insuring it as well which doesnt cost that much. Otherwise if it gets lost they may try and say that u didnt send it. cheers
  3. i had same problem buddy. This is what u need to do. try and sit back in your harness abit like you are sitting in a chair and reach down and pull the leg straps a few inches down your leg towards your knees. This is alot more comfy than riding your canopy with a straight body. That moves the weight from the straps away from your crotch and to the backs of your legs which is alot less painfull.
  4. well done buddy, come down to picton and well go for a jump.
  5. Did you do aff 1 at picton sydney last year? i read the article in the aus skydiving magazine about the crusty demons doing their aff 1 there. Thats where i jump.

    Sabre

I recently brought a sabre 1 with 200 jumps on it. It opened hard for my liking so I had a bigger slider made up that measured 33 x 30 inches. Now the openings are very very nice. It was the best $150 I have ever spent. Now I can trash pack it in 5 minutes and it always opens very softly. The flare in it is great and it does some great surfs. Very responsive in the turns (170 loaded at 1.3). Man you can pull some crazy gs in a hard turn.
  7. Man 10 feet sounds way to close for my liking. I try to work out alot higher like maybe around 1000 - 1500 feet where everyone is and how they seem to be setting up their landing approach. I think noticing that another canopy is getting close while you are on your base leg proves that you didnt really pay enough attention to others positions while you setting up to start your landing pattern. I am no experienced jumper but i am pretty paranoid about having a collision during the landing pattern and try to prepare for landing pretty much as soon as my canopy is open.
  8. LMAO! greatest comment I have seen in a while. Hahahaha. that is dam funny.
  9. After jumping my butt off the past 6 months i finally hit my 200 th jump tomorrow and cant wait to get my firebird out and do some flying. trying to organise the ffc in the next few weeks. Will let you know how it goes.
  10. i quite often jump in clouds here in australia, i love it. I put alot of trust in the pilot to get us over the dz when there is 100% cloud cover. Obviously if the cloud is really low like 1000 feet i wont jump.

  13. So i have been doing a fair bit of tracking lately and have the problem of sinking too low on big way tracking jumps which ticks me off big time. Seeing them up there having fun and im down here on my flamin own. I ask the others for some advice and they explain to me the correct tracking position and roll your shoulders and get big and blah blah blah. I appreciate their input and have tried all the advice that i have been given over the past but from memory the only person to actually critique my track has been my b rel instructor who told me that i go like and rocket when i track and he says i have a very good track. My theory is the weight thing again and that no matter how good at tracking i am or will be in the future i will never be able to track at the same glide ratio as another jumper who is my height but 20 kgs lighter. On the weekend i did a little test on a 3 way track with 2 other jumpers that are good trackers. i sunk low again and i normally get the shits and just end the track and do a sit or something like that. So i dont cause a problem with the other group by having someone else in their airspace but lower than they are expecting anyone else to be. As i went low i just tracked the best i could for the entire jump just to see if i could keep with the others even though i was scott malone on my own a fair bit lower than them. When i hit around 6k i flipped over and saw that i had actually past them and was a fair distance in front of them. I then peeled off while i was watching them to get away from them. So i must be doing something right if i covered more ground than the others. I am in the process of getting a big guys suit to slow me down a bit, so maybe this will help. So what do you guys think? Am i missing something here? If you have 2 guys with 10000 jumps who are both excellent trackers and both 6 foot high. One weighs 90 kgs and one weighs 70kgs. If they both do their best track, surely the heavier guy will always have a glide angle that is steeper than the lighter guy? Or is it that i am just a shit tracker and should stay home ??.
  14. Never say the word 'first' at a drop zone. Its always your second jump, or your 101 or 201st jump. No i didnt chop it must have been that other guy...
  15. You can never do too many jumps in a day if u ask me. My record is 10 in a day and that was a short day and packing for myself, full height. Will try for more in day light saving over summer.
  16. Well done buddy, ill pm you my address so u can send some beer over. Just curious that break off and deployment seems to take a while (1500) feet. Did you learn any lessons from this? Will this change anything in the way you jump in the future? I tend to break off at 5000 and deploy at 4000 just to be a bit safer and give myself more height and time for when i do have a problem. Plus i like the canopy ride and the serenety of it all.
  17. mate i would recommend that you just ask someone to watch your next few packs and make sure you are doing it right. I am sure you will find Someone to help you out.
  18. Crikey man, if you are looking at that video and checking the plane out you need to get your testosterone levels checked...lol.
