  1. Is this whole issue really worth all the time u have spent on this thread? For heavens sake. Ring them up tell them of the mistake and put the rest of the roll outside your door in a bag and end of story. Time taken 2 minutes. I have learnt over the years that no matter what you do or say to some customers or how much you go out of your way to ensure they are happy, there are some people out there that will never be happy no matter what you do for them. Those people can get fucked if u ask me.
  2. get yourself a sabre if your on a budget, great canopies once u put a bigger slider on them. Get a diablo when u have 500 + jumps.
  3. maybe some cable ties threaded through to the outside will work.
  4. i wouldnt be jumping a 23 year old reserve no matter how cheap it was. considering i have seen 1995 model reserves for the same price.
  5. Having recently taken up wingsuiting with 7 jumps on my firebird i got a great deal on a mach 1 suit. Ill put it away until my instructor and i feel that i am ready to fly it. What i am curious about is how many jumps did others do before they upgraded to a bigger suit with more wing and what difference did they find when flying it? Do u feel u waited long enough or did u fly a bigger suit too soon and scare the crap out of yourself? Tell me your story. Thanks guys.

    Sabre

ive got a 1991 model sabre. love it.
  7. i would recommend u take the pd170 and get the guy to give me the sabre for free.....
  8. I know how u feel buddy. I flew a 215 until i had 180 jumps and i just loved being under canopy and checking out the view. People were asking me all the time why i dont get a smaller canopy and i just told them to get stuffed. I am now on a 170 and loving it but i dont regret spending my time on a bigger canopy.
  9. my address was new south wales (state) australia (country). so someone in the friggin south of wales is going to get an early xmas present.... hooray for the people at usps.
  10. Would like to give the big thumbs up to the guys at chutingstargear.com. I ordered a vigil2 from them that the blind workers at the post office sent to the wrong country. Mike sent a 2nd unit out straight away and i just received it in record time. You guys rock, Thanks for the excellent service.
  11. Why? because he is wearing a helmet that will actually protect his head if he stacks it? Yeah beware alright because when he does stack it he will stand up and walk back to the shed on his own...
  12. i had the same problem mate. get a rigger to make u a new slider that measures 33x 30 inches and your problems will be solved. i pack my canopy in no time and dont touch the nose at all and with the bigger slider it opens like a dream every time.
  13. Who uses a cx-12 out there? The web site says that this baby is capable of 10 mega pixel still images. I am trying to get into videoing tandems and the guys all use still camera like 450 - 500d as well as the video cameras and was wondering how the quality of the stills u can take off the footage using the cx12 are like. I understand that the 500d will take a better quality picture than the cx12, but i am wondering just how good the picture is and if its good enough to sell to the customers. thanks guys
  14. Is chutingstars $1169 US the cheapest price in the world on vigil 2 ? thanks for your help.
  15. wow how much did u pay for that mad high res camera... the clarity and size are amazing...
  16. people will probably want to know the dom of everything as well as the details on when the cypres was last serviced and when its due for its next service. having said that ill give u a grand for it....
  17. I dont mean for it to replace your current alti or your eyes but buying an audible alti is the best money u can spend. If AADs are going to be compulsory then i think audibles should be as well. Its a bit hard to forget to pull when you have a crazy loud buzzer going off that is vibrating your ear drum like mad.
  18. i reakon tube stows are unreal. I was changing a rubber band it seemed like every 3rd or 4th pack job and it was driving me nuts. With tube stows i can go up to months without changing them. best $20 money can buy.
  19. Finally did my first flight on the weekend. Have i wasted half my life walking on the ground like a chump instead of soaring like an eagle or what. Absolutely loved it. Was a bit nervous in the plane, but managed to have a great jump. Was a bit wobbly at first and not really sure if i was doing something wrong but figured that i would just ride it out and hope that when i pick up some more speed that i would get more stable. You can see in the video that my legs were a bit too narrow and i wasnt breaking any records but i was pumped that i was fairly stable and keeping a heading okay. The spot was way long and we just made it back okay but the 2nd guy that jumped after me landed safely off. Ended up doing 3 more jumps that day and concentrated on getting my legs wider and felt more forward speed. Many thanks to Greg and Elaine Cox who are Australias wingsuit legends and fantastic teachers. What a great weekend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8VZJ5MZotY

    Helmets

If your going to wear a helmet you might as well get one that actually protects your head when u do stuff up. get a bell bellistic mountain bike helmet. I know of a base jumper who owes his life to one of these.
  21. it seems like they both will do the same job. From my understanding the vigil has a 20 year life and needs no servicing which in the long run works out an aweful lot cheaper than the 12 year cypres life and 2 services in between.
  22. Work out with your instructor what size canopy they think u should be jumping and then buy the newest rig with the least jumps on it that u can afford.
  23. Are u talking about the pain of the leg straps during the whole canopy ride? If so i had the same problem and i got a piece of advice that was excellent. Under canopy my body was very upright meaning you could draw a straight line down my spine to my femur if u get what i mean. when u fly like this the legs straps ride right up in your crotch area and were killing me. i was told to bend at the waist and pretend i was sitting in a chair and i usually reach behind my legs and pull the leg straps down the back of my legs towards my knees. This moves the pressure of the leg straps from your crotch to the back of your legs which is so much more comfy. try this and i am sure it will help you.
  24. I have a sabre 1 also and got sick of having to stuff around with the nose when packing. Get a bigger slider made up that is 33 x 30 inches and your problems will be solved. I pack mine in no time and dont touch the nose and it has the nicest openings every time. best $100 i have ever spent.
  25. WOW this has never happened at any dz i have been to. Its always stuff the fun jumpers and get the tandems on the plane. Well done guys.
