  1. bushs defence companies that somehow won the tenders for the contracts are the big winners. by going to war bush himself made hundreds of millions of dollars.. the guy should be hung
  2. i would not recommend buying that fury seeing as i want to buy it...
  3. you need 500 jumps and E license in order to be able to jump without aad in australia.
  4. I would like to thank the people that had a go at you, it was worth the laugh. Sorry if at your expense, but the question gets asked alot and finally people came up with some really good responses. GIVE IT UP.. oh where have i heard that before?? We WS fliers believe in tough love. Voodew1 just believes in anal. Actually if you read from the first post of the thread, the first person to "have a go" at anyone, was the OP himself (at me). Most people were polite in their responses, and while mine was blunt, it was not rude. However, it wasn't what he wanted to hear, so it didn't "contribute."
  5. I would like to thank the people who took their time to contribute something worthwhile to this thread instead of having a go at me.
  6. Can someone please explain to me where i said that i would fly wingsuit before the recommended 200 jumps have been completed? And peggs82 are you some sort of mind reader? I dont think i am some great skydiver dick head. I am the first one to admit at the drop zone that i am still learning and to ask for advice from the experienced guys. I was invited to a 5 way on the weekend and i explained to everyone that i was a beginner at a formation of that size and ended up having trouble docking with the group in my correct slot. I felt bad for the other jumpers and feel that i wrecked their jump even though they were cool about the 4 way they ended up doing. They asked me to go again and i declined and told them that i didnt want to wreck their dive with my inexperience. I get invited on quite a few jumps from the regular jumpers and i always tell them i would love to join them but i am only learning and am still learning how my body positions effect my flight in the air. I ask the guys how i went and how i can improve and what i need to do to keep with the group in tracking jumps and stuff like that. Anyway make up your own mind about how u think i am some hero skydiver who has 80 jumps up and thinks that he is as good as the owner of our dz who has 25000.
  7. whats up your ass buddy, i am asking a simple question, so fcuk off out of my thread if u havn't got something constructive to say. Regardless of how you took it, my comment was actually very constructive. The best thing you could do at this point is stop trying to buck conventional wisdom and get on the horse early (as you've done in now three separate posts in the past few days). The people who regret their first wingsuit jump won't be in this forum posting about it, because they don't fly one anymore. I have met a good amount of people at boogies who have jumped a wingsuit once, and are now afraid of them. In all those cases, they either got really poor instruction, and/or were not ready for it. /fucking off... oh santa please give this fool a calculator
  8. whats up your ass buddy, i am asking a simple question, so fcuk off out of my thread if u havn't got something constructive to say. I am after some feedback from people with regards to their first flight and how experienced they were and how it went.
  9. How many jumps did everyone have? who out there jumped wing first time with less than 200 jumps and did u regret it?
  10. we had some 15-20 knot winds on the weekend and i did a few landings that were like walking. Very soft and comfy. You may need just to not jump in zero winds and stick to around the 15 knot wind range.
  11. looking for a wingsuit if anyone has one lying around they dont need. Im 5'11, 200 pounds with muscular build. it will be first suit so go easy on the wing. Maybe a firebird, phantom or gti or similar intermediate suit. email me [email protected]
  12. thanks for the advice guys. im thinking that the mach 1 is a good deal but ive seen a few gti s for pretty cheap so one of those sounds like a better idea for me. cant wait to soar like a bird soon.
  13. so im looking for my first wingsuit. i have only 80 jumps thus far so i still have maybe 12 months before i hit the 200 jumps and can wing for the first time. i have found a guy selling a good condition mach 1 for $500, less than 9 months old. i understand that this would not be a good first suit to try but how many wingsuit jumps would the average flyer need before he should get into a mach one. i figure that i could hire something like a phantom to learn on and then jump the mach one. thanks for your help people.
  14. my dz has problems getting height clearance because we are near a major airport. the other day nearly all of the tandems jumped at 8000 instead of the 14000 that was advertised and that they had paid for. i think this is a rip off. i actually told a waiting jumper what was happening and suggested they go and ask the manifest lady to let them know when they have clearance for the full height.
  15. do a search first and then fire away with your questions. i am pretty sure that this is the correct forum
  16. This guy is nuts. New jumpers should be smart enough not to get caught up in the downsizing to look cool thing. ive only done 50 jumps and my 215 will do me for a long time thank you very much.
  17. i sent $1500 aud over to a guy in the states. it was no worries and i got an unreal rig at a bargain price 7 days later.
  18. you might have to ting them, doubt if they will mind. Call Rory on 0412 908 071 tell him winston gave you his number. cheers
  19. He buddy, the dudes from picton have a hanger at bankstown airport, u can take your rig to them there. Either craig or rory will look after you. Nice guys and great packers.
  20. Packing your own malfunction because you did a dodgie pack is one thing BUT paying a "professional" packer who is to lazy to do a simple line check is something totally different. If they couldnt be bothered to do their job properly and they endanger my life i think that is totally unforgivable. Fair enough if they did the best pack job they could do and ended up packing a mal thats tough luck and i wouldnt have a go at them. Really its not that hard to pack a good canopy, there are really only a few basic things u have to do to get it all true and straight and then shove it in the bag. Am i on my own here ?? Or is anyone with me?
  21. i have only packed 40 canopies in my life. But at least i know how not to pack a step through. If i paid a packer and he packed me a step through i would walk up to him and punch him in the bloody head. plus he would be paying for anything that i lost during the cutaway. To pay a professional packer who doesnt pick up a step through is a absolute joke.
  22. I would take the bigger dz any day of the week. i took the smaller dz choice for my aff and it took me 3 months to finish it. Where as the bigger dz can fast track the aff course in 3 days. I would much rather be jumping out of a skyvan than crammed into a little 182 cesna. After getting my license a few months ago i now jump at the bigger dz. if i go hard i can get 10 jumps in per day where as the smaller dz you spend half of your day sitting on your bum.
  23. i had the same problem when i was on aff. i got a bit of advice off another jumper that changed my jumping forever. under canopy i was flying with my body straight, kind of like i was on the ground and standing on tippy toes. this way the straps are right up in your crotch. Now after opening i reach down behind my legs and pull the straps down a few inches down the back of my thighs and sit back in the harness. Kind of like you are sitting in a chair by bending at the waist. this moves your weight off the straps in your crotch to behind your thigh and is alot more comfy. hope this makes sense to you. try it out. cheers
  24. It depends. i tried this but couldnt transfer as my first dz uses rip cord rigs and the 2nd dz uses throw out gear. So they told me i had to start from scratch.
  25. 182 s sux. too small for a big guy like me. give me the skyvan any day. 10 minutes to 14k oh yeah.
