And that... Is why restraints was only ever a one time experience for me. There is nothing more terrifying than having teeth down there and the inability to respond should they be sunk into your skin.
  2. Update is that he will be freed regardless of his sentence because of his age and health. I think it's a fair thing to do, putting him behind bars won't solve anything, not at this stage in his life. I'm sure his conscience over the years has already done more than prison would.
  3. Good on them. I have some friends in the U.S who also find it appealing to burn the U.S flag. I hate hippies more than the rednecks do, but for different reasons. Hippies are far too passive in their points. If you believe in a cause, while not provoking violence, you need to be willing to fight for it too. Sitting on the grass and smoking some weed will accomplish nothing. Burning flags is maybe disrespectful, but it is one's right. Why should one be forced to respect - respect is something that should be earned through admiration. And one shouldn't be forced to respect something merely because if you don't it'll be taboo. The fact that people get so upset over flag burnings is just re-enforcing the point they're usually trying to make by burning it. One can love their country without agreeing with everything it does, and if they want to burn it's flag in protest - so what? The fact that there were laws set-up on the handling and mishandling of the U.S flag just provides more reason why one would want to burn the flag. There is an attempt to keep people patriotic, so much so that there were laws drafted against activity that was deemed 'unpatriotic'. A flag is just a flag. To you it may represent freedom and liberty, to another it may represent merely a nations branding and to others it may represent greed, war and dirty politics. There is no right and wrong in what one sees in the flag. And one has the right to see what they want and express that feeling. I agree with the poster near the top saying that one has a right to burn the flag, but those who disagree also have a right to call them whatever they want, as long as it doesn't get physical. But chances are, if you go into a street and burn the U.S flag, you're likely going to get knocked out by some ignorant redneck, or some die hard patriot who's seen too many action movies who feels as though he should control the actions of others if said actions are unpatriotic. Pick a flag and burn away, they're just flags.

  7. So not only did he let a cat get the better of him, but he likely stabbed himself at the same time. *insert joke relating to the dangers of pussy*
  8. Happiness is that period where I manage to distract myself from thought and nostalgia. Or when I'm alone in nature with only me, animals and a camera. Also, that standing under a low precipitation severe thunderstorm, feel the warm inflow whip up into the anvil.

  11. Between dead family members and lost love, one thing is a difficult choice. Tied between father and ex-girlfriend. What a depressing thread :p
  12. Hah... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYiiqpy52J0 Best listened to when tucking, puckering and listening to a girl screaming in the basement. Silence of the Lambs was an awesome movie.

  15. It is something that may happen in future on the site, though it would likely be more of a 'thumbs up/thumbs down" style on the forums - if it were to take place. We've used several different post rating techniques on our sister site rockclimbing.com before. While slightly off-topic considering what you were suggesting, we will probably implement a facebook 'like' button on the site in future too though, so one can like articles, videos and photos. Another feature which we have been testing on basejumper.com

    Gas prices!

Good to see we're (South Africa) not the only ones having ridiculous raises in petrol prices. Currently here it's the equivalent of around $5.50

    Royal wedding

From what I've seen the declared economic loss was a lot more than the gain. I can't guarantee the accuracy of the reports, but the estimate was for a loss of several billion pounds, considering the day was made a public holiday. Here's another source stating a similar thing: http://articles.latimes.com/2011/apr/27/world/la-fg-britain-wedding-economy-20110428 Majority of the information indicates an economic loss dwarfing any potential economic gain.

    The Donald!

Back into the wild? That may be dangerous, I fear it may be carnivorous.
  20. Nope, I'm perfectly capable of understanding such terms and their meaning. Don't forget that majority of movies are American, and one is probably exposed to the ways of American dialect more so than local ones here. But you would be the first person I've ever heard claim that 'skinny ass' had nothing to do with their weight - or are you saying it's merely coincidence that Obama happens to be slim figured? Though that aside, for the most part it would seem people and republicans in particular do long for a fat, unhealthy president - being on the verge of death seems to be admirable too. Interesting, I wasn't aware I played much video games. In fact I sold my gaming console a while back and haven't played a game in at least 6 months. Want to try again? My weekend will involve pool, photography and walks in the local nature reserve. Doesn't feel very 'autonomic' to me? It's very flattering that you try to make deductions of what I do in my own personal time based on one or two posts though. Want to make out some time?
  21. God forbid the U.S have a president who isn't a fat, drooling redneck. It should be so obvious that weight is directly proportionate to one's ability to lead. Maybe you could start your search for candidates at a local pie eating competition, or maybe even a frat house, nothing says intellectual, diligent leader like one's ability to party hard.
  22. Yeah dude, the landscapes here look a lot like parts of the US, I had another American commenting on them on my facebook, saying how amazed they were how similar some of the landscapes are to the U.S. The Karoo area looks a lot like New Mexico, then as you head north you encounter more grassy areas which look a lot like the Texas panhandle area, then further north you approach the Free State which has lots of corn fields and looks a bit like Nebraska's landscapes. And then Knysna in the south east is a lot like northern California.
  23. Possibly the same type of rock formation, but that particular picture was of the 'Three Sisters' in the Little Karoo.
