  1. I'd never argue that one has a choice over who they're attracted to, gender, race, hair colour, size. I think what gets you grief from people isn't the fact that you prefer skinny girls. It's that most of the time you're bringing down the big girls while you state your opinion and the fact that you seem to state it a lot. I haven't seen many threads by gay dudes saying that girls suck and they long for some good old cock! At least that's my assumption as to why you get bashed by people.
  2. Yes, yes it is. You have stated your opinion, I feel you should be willing to state how it makes any sense. If you're not willing to defend your statement with logic and rational thought, or back it up with any thinking what's so ever apart from what you believe you should say as a Christian, that's fine too.. Just don't expect posts that hold no validity to be taken seriously. Basically what you've shown is that you said something because you felt you should, and yet you have no way to back up why you believe that outside of the reasons why you want to believe it to be so. If you want to insult people, at least make sure you can finish up the insult with reason to your conclusion.
  3. I fail to see how self control even works into the topic. You don't have to be sexually active to be gay. One can control actions, one cannot control thoughts. Is your God against sexual activity between homosexuals or towards their longing for someone of the same sex? I'm straight and even I'm offended by the term - "It is simply a matter of choice. Choose to be normal or choose to be abnormal." It's obscenely ignorant. You've dodged the point, do you think you could be gay if it was 'normal'. If you had the exact feelings you have now, but instead of heterosexuality being normal, homosexuality was - do you think you could choose to be gay, in an attempt to be normal? Do you think you could lose your attraction to females and gain one for men? If you answer that you would be able to, that shows that you already have suppressed feelings towards the same sex, no biggie, no one here will judge you worse than you would. Or you can answer that you couldn't give up your attraction towards women to have one for men. In which case you forfeit the statement that it's a choice. It actually makes me so pissed off when I see people claiming homosexuality is a choice. Yes, I'm sure those thousands of people who killed themselves due to their sexual orientation just loved that their lives were filled with suffering, humiliation and self-loathing.
  4. +1 It's definitely not a choice, it's a feeling you get. A sexual or psychological response. I could try to be gay now as much as I wanted, but it'd kind of be a problem since I don't find the idea sexually appealing and I'd constantly be thinking "this feels wrong", not in a morally wrong sense but in the sense that it's wrong for me, it's not who I am. It's the same thing for gay people, they're sexually aroused and psychologically attracted to people of the same sex. And you can try to make them straight, some attempt to (thanks to judgement on the issue) try to live straight lives, but they will constantly have that feeling that says "this isn't me, this doesn't feel right". Just turn the switches and you'll understand exactly how it is, picture homosexuality as the 'norm', and that you were told you should be gay. You'd feel odd, and you'd lack the sense of connection and attraction. If you think you'd feel otherwise, you may well be a repressed bisexual.
  5. Thanks for the information. I have already contacted Name Media and asked them to sort out the issue with the choice hotel ads, again. They're going to be in contact with the ad host and try sort it out. The ad issue will be fixed, and hopefully shortly - unfortunately the timing is out of my control, but I'm hoping by the end of the week it will have changed. I've requested that they try remove the ad completely and if they feel the need to allow expandable ads, that these ads expand in a way that doesn't interfere with the content of the site at all.
  6. You can follow the discussion on the choice hotel ads here - http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4138657;page=unread#unread
  7. Thanks for the screenshots. I now recall the situation with these ads - they are annoying and I'm still rallying at getting them pulled altogether. Though I was told that these expandable ads have a 1/24 frequency cap on them, that is - that users should only get that ad once in a 24 hour period and no more. Judging by the fact that you have been able to post 2 images, I assume that this isn't the case? Are you guys seeing them more often than that? If so, I'll put forward an urgent request to get that frequency issue sorted.
  8. Really? You're still getting these choice hotel ads? Or are you referring to another one? Please take screenshots and post them in this thread - anyone who gets any ads. Though even being able to identify what ad it was will help remove it quicker. These ads are really difficult to replicate and I've spent days browsing now without seeing any, so it makes it more difficult to fix, it was my assumption that the hotels had been taken off. I've been in daily correspondence with the ad team and they too have been in daily talks with the ad-host in getting them removed. As far as I was aware, the choice hotel ads had been removed about a week ago now. And we're currently working on getting the scorecard crap taken off too. It was difficult to track them down as they eventually appeared to be tied to a beacon tag.
  9. Anyone who has ever been into Jackass either from the MTV days or the movies, will know Ryan Dunn. Unfortunately he passed away this morning in a car accident. The world has one less crazy in it, that's never a good thing. RIP http://www.tmz.com/2011/06/20/jackass-ryan-dunn-dies-dead-car-crash-accident-pennsylvania/
  10. The following scam has been reported. Note: If you have been contacted by this seller, cut all contact immediately. These users will typically send a fraudulent cheque. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.This username has been disabled.

  12. Reminds me of the Beavis and Butthead episode on the situation... "I have seen the top of the mountain Beavis... and it is gooood."
  13. I've cut my own hair for the past 8 years or so. Saves a lot of money. But back when I used to go to the hairdresser, not so much the cutting part, but the shampoo and wash part just prior to the cutting... Nearly fell asleep every time, even when they're tugging and ripping like savages. I know few men are care about their hair-cuts so to most it's just a process of like 30 minutes sitting doing nothing with no happy ending (no pun intended). But for most of the females I know it seems to be something they look forward to, so instead of sitting there thinking "yawn... how much longer" they're all "Leik omg!!11 I caNt waIt 4 ThE ReSultZZ!!11" :p It is quite a sleep inducing process though
  14. Exactly why I don't believe the term 'Agnostic' holds any place, it's for mainly used by Atheists too scared to be ostracized. There is as much evidence for unicorns as God, and as much evidence against them as there is for God. There is not any evidence disproving their existence, and yet not any evidence proving their existence - though one doesn't state they 'may exist', for the most part you will find that mythical legends are dispelled by the lack of logic or evidence for their existence. Again, I've said this before but - You're using the idea that everything needs a creator, you seem to find it odd and illogical for something to exist without being created, why is your God not subject to this frame of mind? If the universe can't exist on an infinite timeline, why is it that God can? Why is it that when the idea that matter existed without a creator it's unbelievable, but when a magical spiritual being existed without a creator it makes sense? All you're doing is making your thought process fit by using ideas of magical powers. Someone can ask you, "Why is it that God could exist from nothing?", you can simply reply with "God is a magical all-powerful being that has the ability to exist outside of science" - though using this thought pattern you're already assuming that God is real and the teachings about him in the Bible are true. Take away the assumption that God is what the bible says and then re-ask the question. "Why is it that God can exist without a creator and the original matter of the universe can not?" You'll find that God becomes no different than the idea of original universal matter existing without having a starting point. I fail to see why the concept of infinity in regards to science is any different than the concept of infinity in regards to religion. It's all very backwards, in order to make the existence of God make sense or differentiate it from the idea that matter existed without a creator - you already have to assume he exists and bestow upon him, the powers which the bible gives him. The idea that it 'started itself for no reason' is one that involves random activity within particles. Quantum mechanics shows that it's quite possible that the activity in low level particles follows behaviour which isn't set on the path of relativity. The universe as we know it today is quite possibly the reaction of a vast time period and the actions and reactions of particles.
  15. Thanks, I've disabled that username now too.
  16. So you're saying you need to be enlightened for the bible to make sense. Yet, the bible is supposed to be the source of the original enlightenment. Is it not? If it is not, and you're supposed to find god on your own accord, to such a degree that you're willing to dedicate your life to it, it just doesn't seem to make sense since. It's like signing a contract before reading it, and being told you can only read what it says when you sign it. How are you going to find God without the map? I'm fairly certain that most churches promote things the other way around, that you read the bible, and understand what it is you're going to be basing your life on, and from there you invite the holy spirit into your life. Not blindly calling for something you don't know and THEN deciding to read what it is that your religion promotes and what it has to say. Without doing that, you'd be relying on the word of man, which in most cases strays so very far from what the bible teaches.
  17. The best kind of blows are low And because you challenged my moral values. My agreement with abortion is based off moral values themselves. One's which extend much further past a fetus. It is based on the idea that if humans continue to reproduce the way they are, it's not just semi-developed beings that will be 'harmed', it's the entire planet and everything on it. One less birth is one fraction more time before complete overpopulation destroys nature as we know it. I just see humans and animals as one and the same, apart from the fact that we have destroyed many of their whole species existence and abuse our top-of-the-food-chain position. Though that's quite a different topic.
  18. Aw cute, I touched a nerve. That sounds like the response of someone who has been smacked down by the cruel hand of logic. Wait, you Christians don't believe in logic, right - I forget. And you post such replies and then wonder why I'm okay with abortion.
  19. To address something a few pages back in regards to using the bible to treat depression and using it as a source of healing. John Edwards is a lying, scamming, dishonest celebrity joke - but what he does still brings closure to people. Just because his lies are helping some people, does that make his fictitious dishonesty of encouragement right? If you answered yes to that question, that just goes to show that truth means nothing to you and your primary goal is just the result. Which would explain one's willingness to 'believe' the bible. If you answered no to this, then using the bible as a tool of treating depression or other mental illness should be just as immoral.
  20. To be fair I always found it quite bias that there is a thread for boobies which saw a majority of merely cleavage shots, yet there is a fully nude, and erect thread of men, yet there is no direct equivalent of women. Just saying... Girls have got it better in Bonfire.
  21. Thanks for the screenshots... Yeah, I'm not happy with that. Sangiro always made sure that the ads weren't obtrusive, and these definitely interfere with the usability of the site. I'll speak to both Sangiro and the ad department and try to see if we can get these roll overs removed as well, it'd be more understandable if they didn't obstruct the page content, but I can see how that'd be annoying with the way it is now.
  22. Exactly. Well garlic pita. Pizza has to be the grossest food one can eat. I'm a culinary rebel.
  23. Everything... Nothing should go on a pizza... Not the tomato paste stuff, not the melted cheese... If anything must be on one of those god awful satanic creations, it must be just a bit of garlic.
