    Landing Out?

Ya know, you coulda followed the two girls that landed before you. I didn't see either of them hitting beans or having a problem with the wind. Too bad I turned my camera off, I had a good view of it You just have this thing for those beans in Illinois or something.... Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'

    Line stows

DB's got some good stuff there, all I can add is: One of the reasons I like rubber bands (over tube stoes) besides the fact they 'grip' the lines better, they should break before you get a bag lock. About one loop getting over another - what is sometimes suggested is that you make your stows progressively smaller, but make sure you still stay in recommended lengths. So if one loop does get over top of another, it'll be one later in the sequence, and by the time it's its turn, whatever it got itself around is already unstowed. It's late... I hope that made sense. 4. Mike, I've heard of people doing this a few years ago, and most people I've heard talk about it strongly discourage for that reason - getting it kinked and/or the cable getting pulled into the grommet. I really don't know how it could offer more/better protection. Get a good pin check on the plane, keep your loop tight and in good order, and there's nothing wrong with a good 'ol fashion closing pin. 5. Don't feel stupid, I thought the same thing when I got my new Mirage.. I was too used to it being under the reserve flap. Make sure when you put it back in, you put it back, and then get that black flap (with serial # and stuff) back over top of the card so it doesn't have a chance to accidently fall out Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  6. C'mon now Phree, you're not suggesting "those damn freeflyers" crowd the ramp, are you? God forbid we rush, bitch at, crowd, or otherwise inconvience any sky goddy type people. Crowd the ramp... christ... that's a new one... Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  7. Ask them (nicely) to secure it. Exaplin to them you don't want it hitting you in the head in case of a crash. I'll bet most people just haven't thought about it. If it's blazing hot, sometimes I'll let my knee wear my helmet, but it's still buckled around my leg Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'

    Landing Out?

Wal-Mart parking lot?! That's got to be a good story! Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  9. hey man, you coulda come right back in, I just booted ya off the channel for giggles. Musta been one helluva retirement party! If you just took a break to say hi, that means you guys were drinking before noon over there!! Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  10. (sigh) people get bent out of shape about the stupidest things around here... should we put a disclaimer up "If you can't take a little ribbing, do not enter" ? lighten up.. jesus... and as far as I know, he's not even the one upset about any of it, what should he care? He was probably too busy drinking vodka with Vladimir to even take notice! Maybe we should just move this to sis' apology thread. That'll be a new one, apologize to person "a" because person "b" thinks you should.
  11. Ever find it funny that we start thinking of the front of the airplane as the back? Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  12. bottom row, 8th over from the left .... mmm.... nice picture (but someone had way too much time on their hands!) Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  13. so what are the jump prices going to be? Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  14. well, if we decide not to pay the registration fee for one day, maybe we could all meet up for a couple drinks at the Ramada or something... snickersnicker.... Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  15. What's the jump prices for the boogie? I wouldn't mind showing up for a day or two, but gimme some way to make it worth the $30 registration! Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  16. I'm not trying to be a prick here Brandon, I just want to see you around awhile. 205(you) + 25(gear) / 170 = 1.35 If you're planning on losing 25lbs, then cool. I guess if youre JMs think you can handle it, and you're comfortable with it, then cool. Just be careful. Like I said, not trying to be a canopy Nazi (we all know that's lisa's job) I just think you're a cool guy and I don't want to see you get hurt. Sorry to everyone for bastardizing this thread... guess we coulda moved it somewhere else, but I've already typed it all here.. so someone else move it... Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  17. That's what a few of us have told him. He'll be loading it about 1.35 or so. Lisa! Talk to this boy... Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  18. There are no silly questions, only silly people... Your risers are the things attached at your shoulders. Ever looked at your 3-ring release system? 2 of the 3 rings are attached to your risers. The lines going up to your canopy are attached to the other end of your risers. When you grabbed your toggles after opening, you pulled them off your rear risers. You can (and should be able to) control your canopy using nothing but risers, you can even flare using your rear risers. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  19. I'm going with everyone else here, don't limit yourself to the M$ stuff, but it's not a bad place to start. Get a hold of the Troy Tech study guides, and all the practive tests you can. Read the MS Press training kits first though! You can get the core 4 (Server, Professional, AD, and Infra) for < $100 at bookpool.com If you taking the classes, you're probably using the MOCs (big 3-ring binder things) those are complete shit, they teach you nothing. Get the MS Press books (I can find you the ISBN # if you want it) Also, find a book on TCP/IP and understand it, that'll help you with MS stuff and Cisco stuff. Don't be afraid to get the "For Dummies" books, some of them aren't really for dummies, they explain advanced topics pretty well. The O'Rielly books are pretty good too, but usually a bit dry. And get some hands on! Nobody likes a paper MCSE. Then, I saw these two guys swoopin across the pond, and I was like 'weeeeeee!!!!'
  20. Holy high-speed opening Dan! (way off topic here, I know) Just got that CD you sent out and it was very cool to watch (although it did make my CD player make some really odd buzzing noise) Can't wait to demo one of these! But seriously, on those openings in a sit and headdown, you did nothing special to the pack job?? Ok.. back to the topic for a second.. I hope everyone understands what Dan said, sometimes they can't control timing issues (gets returned late, gets lost by UPS, needs fixed, etc). They probably could have called and said "hey, it's not coming when we said it was gonna come" but most people don't have funky work hours like that, so they probably didn't think it was that big of a deal.
  21. hey, I'll chime in on Skykat too. I"ve ordered a bunch of stuff from there, always had great service. I ordered a complete rig from them too. There was a bit of a screw up on that, but they said "just jump that one, be gentle with it and we'll get it right as soon as possible" even shipped the correct version overnight and saturday delievery to make me happy. Speaking of which... I should probably send the old one back now... oops! Tony and Kate are on my "To buy from" list (of course, along with Lisa aka skybytch)
  22. What's this obsession you have with feet?
  23. mm... I want a little sunshine to start the day! seems like a great way to start it to me! I keep getting this song stuck in my head though....
  24. Just because you changed your name, doesn't mean you don't like to do rodeo dives anymore? right? RIGHT? Especially those reverse rodeo things.... hmmmmm....
  25. freeflyers are going to LOVE you... can you say "hybrid dives!!" ?
