  1. If bossman doesn't have the chat server running, we could probably meet on EFNet or UnderNET (ack!) There's even a few web based clients out there that would let the "IRC Client Challenged" folks join in. Anyone? Anyone?
  2. I was told I had to buy her one.... I knew that didn't sound right...
  3. huh... I wonder if in 20 years I'll be a "Nerd, dork, or Dweeb" because I've seen "The Matrix" a dozen times..... :)
  4. even better, just ban that IP address
  5. whoa! no! It doesn't "explode" it doesn't "fire" it doesn't "cut" nothing "ignites" .... it's an electronic device that activates your reserve parachute if for some reason you are unable. That's all you need to say if asked, you start using words like "explosives" and "fires" around airport security, they get a little jumpy.
  6. hmmm.... now where can I find someone to video.......
  7. cut away handle or reserve? The only thing I've heard about cutaway handles is to make sure the cables aren't too short (but you check that with your pre-flight inspection, right?) but that wasn't specific to the Mirage. Let me know what you find out...
  8. It is very possible. Just think 2-way naked tube while wearing ear muffs.
  9. Those crazy CReW dogs... Video from abcnews.com I wonder if the videographer obects to the the link on the front page that says "Amateur Video of Skydiving Accident"
  10. My Sabre was kinda tough to stall too, I could bury them all the way and just hang there (kinda cool though, and could be useful) Try building up some speed first (hard turn, front risers, whatever) and the bury the toggles (worked for me). Just remember to let them back up SLOWLY after you stall. You can always take a few wraps as someone suggested earlier. Still, remember, SLOWLY recover.
  11. as long as Sangiro doesn't try to work on the site while intoxicated again, we should be ok (I still that that's what caused the problems last week, he just blamed it on the server)
  12. Don't 'cha love finding old stuff like that? That's a good book too.
  13. Kris - Have your openings been different since you did that?
  14. call in with "Explosive Diarrhea" ... they usually don't want to know any more.
  15. After reading the question I was ready for an answer to be: "Do nothing; wait for AAD to fire"
  16. I did the same thing. First couple jumps were tandems, the handles are in a different place. Before the AFF jump, my JM took my hand, put it on his altimeter and said "Feel this? This is NOT your pilot chute" In the video, you see me reach back, grab his altimeter, then move my hand to the hackey. I didn't even pull on his altimeter, as soon as I grabbed it I knew it was wrong.
  17. I like the little cadence they drilled into my head: look right, grab right look left, grab left hard arch punch right, punch left
  18. I have a friend looking for one, called around, can't find one. Any help from here? I know, really bad timing,
  19. I'll take my sugar with coffee and cream please....
  20. There's a lot of people that would argue this (the safe part). I don't have much of an opinion on it, but looking through fatality reports of the last few years, there seems to be a lot more ".... static line progression..." in there than "... AFF ..."
  21. Let's hear it for the eastern time zone! You should have some Fruit Loops ;) I like this egg stuff my mom always made around Christmas, don't even know what it's called. But, seeing as how it's not Christmas and I'm not in the same state as my mother, I'll go grab a bagel for now.
  22. So when do we find out if we guessed who's rig it was? That would just eat at me if I never found out.... I wouldn't be able to sleep, I might lose my job, my hair would fall out, my friends would leave me, the world would plummet into chaos! Or not, it could just be me.
  23. Had the same question before myself, check out http://www.jumpshack.com/the3ring.htm

    HELP

Could this possibly change now that tandems are no longer "experimental"?
