  1. THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT REPLIES! I found something to fear.. actually 2 things: 1. Myself 2. The guy with the radio I'll post all the gory details of jump 3 after I get some work done
  2. I've read a lot at this site regarding fear... How to deal with it mostly, and it made me start thinking. I was scared stiff on my first climb out of the c-182. It started when the door came open. It got worse when I put my legs out... and worse still when I reached out for the strut and my hand flew back at me. By the time my JM gave me the finger I had to force myself to let go. Being petrified, I didn't arch and did a barrel roll. Landing was another scary part. I began to flare way too high and made a tumbling landing. On my second jump I got a little shocked when my canopy openned super-fast, but that was it. I was never afraid. I even stood the landing. Granted, I'm an SL student, so there's no freefall... yet . That might scare me the first time, maybe. It's hard to say. I am really looking forward to it.
  3. So, let me get this straight. If you prematurely, um, project, then you die. Harsh! 1111, GeekStreak
  4. First time I ate wasabi I thought it was avocado or something with avocado in it... ate a full spoonful !! BAD! VERY BAD!!! It cleared my head alright, and my intestines too!!! I have never eaten any since. On the bright side, my kids got a little free entertainment while I dashed around the kitchen looking for something to put the fire out.
  5. Air travel is very common in spiders. Little ones just spew a little web out the back end and off they go on the breeze! He/She is probably sitting in a clearing somewhere wondering when the recovery team is gonna arrive.
  6. Damn straight!! I love the name now. I hated it when I was in grade school... Remember Freddie the Freeloader? TOO MANY THINGS rhyme with Freddie! Just try and rhyme Karl... doesn't work as well
  7. Kimmer, I'm sure that your DZ is chock full of support. Go. Jump. Hang out. Meet. Greet. Have a beer or three. Come back here and tell us all about it! 1111, GeekStreak
  8. When all of your coworkers keep track of when your next jump is for you... probably thinking that you'll shut up afterwards
  9. Remember self-potato doesn't count... You'll have to have somebody help you!! 1111, GeekStreak
  10. I gotta ask this... ALF???? 1111, GeekStreak
  11. LOL!! I had a friend back in TX who lost 2 husbands that way. She's still in counselling . OOPS! Was that insensitive ? 1111, GeekStreak Edited by GeekStreak on 7/12/01 04:19 PM.
  12. I think who gives and receives is not relavent . 1111, GeekStreak
  13. I'm sure that's not for a lack of volunteers! Look at it this way... YOU GET MORE JUMPS! I've been logging 0 in the middle for weeks! Gonna fix that Saturday
  14. Yup. They'll train their masters if they can. Maggie (who killed her first critter today!) has our boxer pretty well trained! She is definitely the alpha of the two. I am, of course, the real alpha dog
  15. I was afraid someone would ask that. I'm stumped. All I know is it aint 4, I think. If it aint 1 I've been counting wrong. 1111, GeekStreak
