Slacker, I've been there done that, I had a reputation for riding the plane down, crying, freaking out, etc etc. Yet every weekend I'd end up at the dropzone hoping that I had gotten over the fear, since I knew that I loved it once I was in the air. It took....all summer. April to September for it to go away (minus a month away in China). haha I spent A LOT of time just hanging out at the DZ and gaining confidence, I wish I had the magic answer for you, but one day it just vanished. One thing to definitely check out is Brian Germain's transcending fear. The book helped me with a lot of life issues along with skydiving. The breathing helps, and I used to sing songs in my head up to altitude to keep my mind from thinking about the fear (I was always good until about 3k) Thanks to the cold weather I didn't jump in Nov-Mid Jan, and then we headed to Eloy...I was so nervous about having the fear again, but it wasn't there!! So it does get easier...

I was a crier and whiner when I was 8, so maybe you won't see any tears. I wish I had some better advice for you....

my parents told me when I was 8 when the babysitter forgot to tell them that I lost a tooth. I was crushed, especially when they started to tell me about Santa too. I burst into tears with "Does that mean there's no Easter Bunny too?" Its funny to look back on it and laugh now

Apparently we really won't be traveling with the tacky hot pink suitcase anymore! Haha!! That suitcase is awesome - maybe they have one like it that's a size smaller? Perhaps, but where's the fun in a suitcase that is a manageable size?
