  1. In most cases, yes. Stowing behind my head takes me all of about 5 seconds, and requires no rigging back on the ground. For me that is a much better solution than a removable slider. BASE 1384
  2. If you can land a backflip on a bike, you can land a parachute with goggles on. I promise. Few more jumps and you will have it dialed in! BASE 1384
  3. Maybe stop spending money on loudspeaker systems for your sweet riceburner and buy a rig BASE 1384
  4. With winds out of the north, I fly a right hand pattern and turn left. Winds out of the south, I fly a left hand pattern and turn right. The whole setup and turn happens on one side of the runway, and the regular patterns happen on the other. It did take a minute to get used to turning right, but after a few tries at it, it started to feel more comfortable. BASE 1384
  5. I had that happen to me while I was driving on the freeway about a month ago. Went to clear my ears, and the whole world started spinning! I pulled over and it went away after a minute. This was after doing a bunch of jumps while sick with a cold so I can see the concern. Luckily when it happens to me, it is very temporary. I can't imagine how bad it would suck to feel that for an extended period of time. BASE 1384
  6. One of the young kids on my PL team uses this stuff called "Super Pump" which we have rightfully renamed "Super Dump" Like clockwork 30 min after he drinks it he disappears into the bathroom for 10 min.... Yeah, also N.O. Xplode could be renamed Colon Xplode. It has to do with the stupid-high amount of magnesium in those to brands. Jack3d is much better in that regard. Back in my high school lifting days I decided to try that stuff. I couldnt work out 15 minutes without running to the shitter. What a waste of money that was! BASE 1384
  7. Big fan. Saw him when he came to Akron he put on a good show. BASE 1384
  8. Ive seen video of 2 jumpers jumping off of a building, then landing on another building, then packing on the roof and jumping off the second building. Ive always thought that was epic. BASE 1384
  9. I have made a total of 10 jumps this year. And 8 of those were tandems for my rating course. I probably had close to 100 on the season this time last year! Can't wait to move out of this shithole of a state. BASE 1384
  10. So what happens if half the load wants to swoop and half the load doesnt? Does the plane sit? Or how about if more than 50 percent of load wants to swoop? Do the non swoopers agree to sit on the ground until they can fill more than half the plane? After all, its in the name of safety right? BASE 1384
  11. +1 that was my first thought as well BASE 1384
  12. pies are for 1000's, not 100's do you have graduation ceremonies for kindergarten? "cupcaking" is good one though +1 Guess I should have got pied 3 times last summer! BASE 1384
  13. I love youtube comments: "can someone tell which is the max speed u can fall but in a almost horizontal plan? almost like is this vid and Jeb if you see this i think i have a better idea about the wingsuit landing i don't think u need necessary a runway for it i think i have something more simple i'm still working on it so if u see this please contact me here." Jeb you should get in touch with this guy he seems like a winner. BASE 1384
  14. I thought Pieings happen after 1000 jumps? BASE 1384
  15. It takes a hell of a lot of aviation fuel to get most people to the the Perrine! BASE 1384
  16. How much experience in this sport do you have? I am going to assume (because you have no profile) that it is not very much. That would explain this asinine idea you are pushing. It would be a complete logistical nightmare, inconvenient as hell, and most importantly would not improve safety. The 2 low timers at Spaceland both had similarly (and lightly) loaded canopies and that didnt help them. Difference of wingloading has nothing to do with these fatalities. Bad piloting in the pattern does. I would assume that the low timers at Spaceland were doing nothing bigger than 90 degree turns. Must not be that rare. BASE 1384
  17. Looks like they're not using the line release modification. I would presume that they weight the risks, and determined that the possibility of having to land without one or both control lines is more dangerous than the small possibility of a lineover when using a tailgate. There was a lot of discussion on the BASE boards about that recently. BASE 1384
  18. Haha good shit. Can't believe I have never seen that before. So the new question is...when did NEO get so soft? Haha I guess when all those people got old. Have you never seen the full length Thread the Needle 2? Nate needs to start selling those again. BASE 1384
  19. Its super easy. Wear sneakers and not boots with big hooks obviously. We call them Nate Sacks at our dz. http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/video/video.php?v=1017514085761 BASE 1384
  20. Thanks Adam. Words with friends was getting boring, and I need something else to occupy my time during class! BASE 1384
  21. I've seen it done a bunch with base canopies. As long as you are very careful taking the canopy out of the barb wire, you should be able to get away without much damage. Obviously if you just start yanking on it, it will probably be in bad shape. BASE 1384
  22. How will he be able to see you? BASE 1384
  23. Hopefully the weather holds out for you. This is Ohio after all. BASE 1384
