  1. Why don't you check them both out and make an informed decision for yourself? BASE 1384
  2. You are aware that bitch was a law enforcement officer right? But i guess if your not prepared to go down in a hail of gunfire over a basketball hoop than your probably a god damn communist!! BASE 1384
  3. If you don't have B12s, you could still unthread the legstraps before the squad gets there with the scissors. BASE 1384
  4. So because they have a different opinion than you, they don't know what they are talking about and their opinions arnt worth anything? IMO, B12's are uncomfortable, bulky, more expensive, and sometimes they jam open and you have to stick a screwdriver in it to knock it back closed. My employer is 65 years old and still manages to put on his rig without B12 snaps. Unless you have the flexibility of a 2x4 you probably could to. But hey, its your rig. If you want them, go for it. 5. Now how is he supposed to work on his step back J's? BASE 1384
  6. The comments in that article are great BASE 1384
  7. On many BASE containers, the cutaway handle is hidden behind the main lift web. It is possible you just couldn't see it. BASE 1384
  8. Sounds like the high angle team got some practice. They are professionals, I wouldn't worry too much about there safety. They know what they are doing. Also like someone else mentioned, they really only had to lower him down to the elevator. Even me and my redneck friends could rig that up. BASE 1384
  9. I know that Jimmy has found a dead body under a bridge they were jumping once. Imagine the surprise of finding one at the top of a broadcast tower! That would be one creepy fucking jump, especially if it was a tight area to gear up! BASE 1384
  10. My first thought as well! BASE 1384
  11. Come on man. If you can afford to skydive, you can afford to buy a pair of shoes. Something without snag hazards and decent support. BASE 1384
  12. Make sure you buy Andy Copland a few 40's of Colt 45 BASE 1384
  13. From what I have been told, it still has the 3 ring drogue release. BASE 1384
  14. A M1 or a M4? A M1 uses "clips" a M4 uses "magazines." There is a difference and people laugh at you when you get it wrong. +1 BASE 1384
  15. Or who to avoid entirely. Not many cops get mugged. While I would not open carry often, I am FOR any progun right. There are bad guys out there who practice how to disarm a police officer. Carrying open is completely pointless, and only serves to put a target on your back. If you carry open, you are giving up your biggest advantage, which is the element of surprise. Plus, open carry really tends to freak the general public out. Odd - I know folks living in OC states, and the only people they report getting freaked out are the recent transplants from places like Cali. The cops and instructors at my CCW class had a LOT of stories of people getting in a panic because of OC. The majority of the population is pretty ignorant about guns, therefore are going to be uneasy when someone is carrying one who isnt a cop. Just the way it is. BASE 1384
  16. Pure opinion. If that were true, then why don't all cops carry hidden? It is MUCH faster to draw from an open position than from cover... So there is one point right there. Or tell the criminal to stay away. Not many cops get mugged. Criminals prey on the weak, not the armed... there is another point. Big deal. Skydiving scares people... Should we stop? People think base is dangerous... Should we ban it? -Of course it is opinion, much like most of this website. -Cops dont have the luxury of carrying concealed, so that is not a very good example of what citizens should do. Police HAVE to be seen as out and in force. They may not get mugged very often, but they are attacked a lot. A lot of bad guys really hate cops for some reason. -Exactly. A bad guy can disarm you much easier from an open position than from cover. Cops train for this. Do you? Bad guys can't take your gun if they don't know you have one! -Guess what.....most of BASE happens at night because if done in the day it would cause such a public stir that we would burn down our objects. The less the general public see about stuff that is "out of the ordinary" the better. Also worth noting I am not saying you should NEVER open carry, nor suggesting anyone lose the right to if they choose. If you are out in the country it should be no problem. However if you feel the need to carry a gun on your hip while you go to taco bell, seems to me like your trying to be John Wayne. BASE 1384

  18. Pretty sure Joe knows that. BASE 1384
  19. Why is that? Funny thing also......just watched the video again and realized that is my DZ. They always put a tandem out first........but dont really know why they do. I guess it has always been that way. Because taking a customer on a jump where you have to pull around 5,000 feet, then letting some low timers fucking around with an iPhone jump out right after you seems like a poor plan. Tandems usually go out last (except wingsuits) because they pull higher than sport jumpers. It wouldnt take much for the sport jumpers (especially while focusing on the iphone) to drift close to the tandem at pull time. BASE 1384
  20. That is insane. My most frequently jumped object is 290 feet, and to imagine hitting the ground from that height and living is astounding. Good thing the taxi driver picked that moment to get out of the drivers seat! BASE 1384
  21. Use 1000 pound spectra. It will last a lot longer than the average closing loop. BASE 1384
  22. What size is the plug? What type is the stereo pin? (compare it to my pictures above). It is the "low profile" plug. Looks like the one on the left in your last photo. Aha! So: Light can be either green or blue (but has to be blindingly bright) for Cameye II. Larger Plug, Thicker Cord, and Smaller Profile Stereo Pin Base = Cameye II Smaller Plug, Thinner Cord, and Larger Profile Stereo Pin Base = Cameye I Glad we could get to the bottom of that! BASE 1384
  23. Thanks, Conor. You have the CII, right? If so, then it fits with my Sky Tools email that some CII's have green lights and some blue. The jack on mine looks like the one on the right, so I think that the one on the left is what they call "low profile" Plus, I've never been bothered at all by the brightness of the light, although I do have old eyes.. I'm still pretty sure I have the Cameye and not the CII Which means I've just wasted time and money for Chutingstar because they shipped me a replacement for the adapter I thought was broken. Well allow me to take it off your hands! I needed to buy one for my CX before next season anyway. Just let me know how much $$$ BASE 1384

  25. To further complicate this......Mine has a bright blue light, and has the logo on the back. I also cut part of the tab off because it was so bright. BASE 1384
