  1. Got 2 pillows on my sportrig and the tandemrig I jump. You need to be aware that you need a firm grip to pull the pillow because of the double velcro. (Never needed it on this rig) Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  2. You are clearly not a TM! Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  3. This flubber might be caused by flexibility of the total suspension system, including zoom/focus system Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  4. Why No wonder there is a difference in stability. If you turn it off on both the footage improves, the only thing i notice that if i happen to look down a bit on opening sometimes the world wobbles/waves slightly for a bit with my HC5. Don't think that happens on the A1 and HC1 we have at the DZ but saw the same on another HC5. Besides that, no difference with image stabilization with these 3 cameras. I also have that sometimes, I think it is the flexibility of the lens suspension system, Not really bad and only lasts 1 second. Tried horizontal till vertical on opening (Handcam) Does not happen always Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  5. Zoekt en gij zult vinden (Search and you will find) I bought a second HC5 (as spare) 2 weeks ago, in a regular shop, NEW in the box with a year guarentee!! Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  6. Read the guidelines below, personnaly I would recommend 100tandem in the last 12 months: http://www.waycool.com.au/phpBBindex.htm Have approx 75HC jumps now (±1150tandems): My experience: - First, second and thirth prio is YOU ARE TANDEMMASTER. The video is extra. A tandemjump is not just another jump - I use a HC5/waycool with a .25lens, not the smallest camera, but stable in freefall and very nice footage (You can make 10x15cm (4x6in) prints in nice quality) - Keep the camera away from the pax during deployment. It is easy to hit the passenger with the camera. - Learn to fly with your legs as you have 1 arm less to fly. - Look at youtube, some good and bad examples can be found there (I also have a couple of videos in youtube and here in dropzone.com search for "skydive grefrath") - Take some jumps to find the ideal camera positions - When the pax does not cooperate, the video sometimes does not work out. - Find a fixed routine for every video (saves edit time) - Do not compete with outside video. It's a different product. My DZ has inside and outside video without stress in the team. HAVE FUN Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  7. Dang skippy buddy! Have had thoughts of that happening.. thus my hesitation to do it.. kinda funny tho... if Im going say..hmm 60 mph with the rig on and on the bike, my p/c or reserve pops... is that a slow speed mal or a high speed mal? thanks! It hurts!!! Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!

  9. Yes, to be a TM you need to be some kind of monkey with long arms Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  10. Try, and you will know. As your friend did not stick to the regular sony, consider yourself a testjumper. Please let us know Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  11. No wide-angle. Spend your money on learing how to fly, not on cheap toys Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  12. You needed a computer to save your life.....TWICE......????????????? From a reliability point of view the more complex the software the less reliable..... BY DEFINITION. The hardest thing to certify for aerospace use is.......software. Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  13. pc1000 is still normal DV. The 3-chips will improve the quality of the colours, but the resolution is still DV. CX12 or any other HDV camera used a 1900x1080i resolution, This resolution can be printed on 4x6in. Besides that the small wideangle lens you put on the camera will be the limiting factor as handcam lenses are single element lenses (not the best optical quality) I found out that the all lenses sold for handcam show a little bit of vignetting when used in 16x9 image format (shows on framegraps and laptop, not on TV), also the ones that claim no vignetting. This is based on 4x3image format Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  14. Do a search on this forum .25 or wider is what you need. (Also order the filter as you might damage the lens easy) This is what a waycool setup including .25 lens captures on a HDR HC5. (Check that you order the correct thread size for your camera). Check the waycool website, gives you all the info and also advise Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . 15. Tape of memory stick. Tape -> Sony HDR HC5. have approx 50 handcam jumps with it now. Only issue is the availability of a good HD grade wideangle. Waycool .25 is not the best lens, but very small. Set-up is in the attachment (waycool) Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  16. A violent spin will reduce height fast. So during this spin you want to spend time to find your hook knife, select the correct lines (I hope you are sure it is the steering line) Cut both lines. After that you have to land a canopy using an unfamilliar method perhaps even an off DZ landing OR Cut away, pull reserve and very likely more time to plan your landing using a method (toggles) you are familiar to. Unless you are a highly skilled current canopy expert, the first option looks like an ticket to the local hospital or worse. In case you are a highly skilled canopy expert you should know the answer. 17. These are pictures from a HC5 (PAL) The picture on the ground is with the photobutton (compressed 5% to meet the 300kb upload requirement) the other photos are videocaptures from the HDV footage (made in pinnacle studio12). Lens is a waycool .25 (relative low grade but nice small for handcam) Camera is in manual focus, no anti-shake and beach exposure mode Not super quality, but I mail the passengers a couple of files for free when they buy the DVD. Quality is ok till approx 4x6in. I always tell them it's a videocamera, not a photocamera when you have the camera on top. Press the photobutton with your hand. I've seen several vidiots do this because they lost the biteswitch of their photocamera. It's the result that counts, not the way to achieve this result Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  18. Which .2 lens are you using? Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  19. When you do not have 1 second to breakaway from 5000ft (tandem opening altitude) stop picking your nose and focus on your job. It takes longer to decide not to cut away than perfroming the cutaway itself Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  20. Yep, but there are way more accidents from people not cutting away and ending up under an main/reserve entanglement than cutting away and ending under an entanglement, so what is the safe option? STAY IN SEQUENCE Back to the malfunction. Periodic inspection and early replacement might have prevented this malfunction. It is a single point of failure with hazardous concequence Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  21. The manual says: throw the droque, not the handle Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  22. From the black corners in the video (caused by the wide angle lens) and the color quality I think the camera is a DV camera, which was not available in 1990. (TM helmet and videoman canopy also look more recent than 1990) As already stated this is either an inner bridle or bridle attachment failure. Both parts are not stressed during droquefall. From the text next to the video you can read that the TM did not breakaway the main after he pulled the droquerelease (before pulling the reserve). As a TM I do not understand why? 23. Easy when you shoot the video yourself Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
  24. Jump the HC5 in a waycool glove as handcam, Also with a cameye. No issue during the 30-35 jumps I made with it from a C208 in various weather (also high moisure environment) but of course the camera is nicely covered in neoprene. Till now, no shutdowns, dropped frames, error messages or fogged lenses, so I keep my fingers X-ed. Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
