    Rig colors

Yeah...get drunk...color your rig and post your order while still drunk . I've spend a lot of time coloring my rig too but ended up with a very black rig because that was the easiest way too go...it always looks good
  2. show them you can handle your canopy and it will not be a problem I think. They just cleaned the gear from last weekend Hahahahahahaha Yeah...I must say that I felt a little guilty for getting a rig that stained .. _______________________________________
  3. [replyI]t all in the chief instructers hands. How many jumps you've got now? 100? It can be a problem to jump it. Doe maar een goed woordje voor me bij de instructeur dan...I have 110 jumps _______________________________________
  4. The French have a canopy chart like we do here in holland. They have a lineair correlation between jump jumbers and the size of the canopy. I was in France last week and I have 100 jumps..I (officially) couldn't jump anything less then a 200. Which I find way too conservative. I'm glad I don't live in France
  5. Hee...I deserve some credit for that too.... GravityGear is a good dealer..
  6. Technical Data of cypres expert: Activation altitude: approx.750 feet (225 m) Activation speed: approx. ³ 78 mph (35 m/s) I would not trust my cypres that much. I would pull the reserve myself...please note that your cypres won't activate if your speed is under 78mph...which could hapen if you haven't cut away (completely)???? _______________________________________
  7. Golf is a dangerous 'sport' dude. Do you know what happens if someome shashes a golfbol into your head? I would rather go skydiving...that is much much safer...at least then I can see the 'golfbal' coming towards me and I can take evasive action ------------------------------ Only 6 more days till I get my new rig
  8. "... I started walking, past a castle. CASTLE?!?! I've never seen no $%^ castle! Well it turn out you CAN sometimes see it from the plane, but man..... " hehehe...Where is that $%^ castle? ...Can't remember ever seeing that either _______________________________________
  9. You can't expect a clear answer on that question if you don't post your jumpnumbers and exitweight.. It is always a good idea to downsize one step at a time...first try out a 170 a couple of times before going eventually to a 150 _______________________________________
  10. "Whole this analysis leads to only one conclusion; people who kill themselves during a parachute jump should be treated as suicides and buried outside the cementaries. What do you think? " I think you are nuts. A parachute jump is considered suicide if you jump without a parachute..The rest is just nonsense. Nothing in life is 100% safe...driving to work/riding a motorcycle/walking on the street/ taking a vacation in Asia/whatever. Just because you choose to enjoy life doesn't mean you are considered to be suicidal. "One does it from his or her own free will and, what's more, purely for his or her own egoistic pleasure.." Of course...I'm not doing it to please my mother ..if you know what I mean. Appearantly I'm not a true christian and deserves to go to hell.......fortunatly I'm not a religious person so I won't loose any sleep over it . _______________________________________

  13. There is a hook knife on my icon which I ordered (haven't got it yet). I'm glad its there..probably won't use it but you never know. I have seen two vidoes here on DZ.com though in one week where a hook-knive could have been very usefull altitude-permitting. _______________________________________
  14. got that msg too...that damn prince has got some nerve to bother a skygod like me edited to add: If he calls himself a prince...then I can call myself a skygod right? _______________________________________

    Maubeuge

This was my first visit abroad to a DZ. It was a very pleasant experience and I will return here in the near future. There is very friendly atmosphere and everyone is willing to help you get started but there were only two or three people who could speak english. It's France afterall so that was to be expected of course. They have two very nice looking Pilatus Porters and therefore lots of lift capacity. Landings are in front of the hangar which I thought was pretty cool as I never done that before. Compared to the Netherlands prices are also very friendly. 20 euros/13000ft and rental gear is only 7 euros. The choice of gear is excellent..they have something for everyone.
  16. Didn't look at your jumbnumbers. I jumped a 175 with a wl of 1.2 at 110 jumps.. _______________________________________
  17. I see you're jumping a hornet 170 at a loading of 1.3..makes appr. the same weight as me. Have flown a smart 175 and its a good choice. This size is very forgiving..flies outstanding...landing are so easy. I ordered a smart 175 first..then demoed one..If I ordered the smart after the demo I would have gone one or two sizes smaller probably

    barigo altimeter

"OK but you could still ask Kees, they've got email ya know " Hmm...You got a point there "If you do remove it, I do know to watch out for the needle, it's very easy to mess up. And I'd put in a sticker or something to personalize it

    barigo altimeter

How do I replace the lens of a barigo altimeter? I found the two little screws at the side but can't detach the lens from the altimeter.... Thanks _______________________________________
  21. Congratulations...I made my first off airport landing too yesterday....I even made a downwind landing because I trusted the visual reference points more then my actual groundspeed...Realised my error untill it was too late to turn back safely into the winds. Made a downwind/crosswind landing instead in a muddy field...I was so glad I was wearing a jumpsuit (which was black but now kinda brown :) ). Bottomline..I got confused...I was dropped 2 km away from the airport Upwind...noticed I had almost 0 forward speed while tryign to get back..but saw the hangar and runway so I figured that's the direction I had to land in because I landed my previous two jumps also that way (first day at this DZ). Turned out what I was looking at was a second row of hangars which I hadn't seen before because they were so far away. I won't make that mistake again...you won't either..thats the way you will learn :).. Although I must admit...pulling at two is a bit more dangerous then a downwind landing... Had to walk a long way back to the DZ _______________________________________
  22. indeed...not much... Whoeps..missed that thread _______________________________________
  23. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1945 Got this one from www.skydivingmovies....This must be the scartiest malfunction I have ever seen. This guy is pulling his reserve-chute out of the bag himself by pulling on the risers/lines.... How can a line snag something on the container? I wonder if you are able to cut the line with your hook knife if you are spinning that hard. _______________________________________
  24. "How do you decide when to land out and when to stretch for the landing area" As soon as I decide that landing out is a safer and better option then taking the risc to try and land at the DZ. At what altitude I decide to land out depends on where I decide is the best 'out' and how long it will take me to set up a safe pattern to land there. I have made two outs in 106 jumps..both because I wasn't sure I woul have cleared the runway above 2000ft (not allowed to be under 2000ft over runway). At 2500 ft decided to land out at these two jumps. Min decision altitude is above 1500 ft _______________________________________
