  1. Yeah, the duck's cool....I'm votin' for him, in November! There was a really unique radio campaign, musta' been in the early '90s...kinda' freaked me out, at first. It started with a sexy, breathy woman's voice saying "Ooooh yes, I loooove dicks!"
  2. Hmmm.....for some reason, after reading that, I got a mental picture of an ejection seat. "T'was ever thus."

    Big snake!

Oh, absolutely! Twenty feet long, 200 pounds, 3-4 inch fangs and it inhales large mammals....sounds cuddly! "T'was ever thus."
  4. I really wouldn't consider myself a "skydiver", just a "jumper"....'coz I'd still jump, even if nobody was watchin'. "T'was ever thus."
  5. Yeah, me too....I always wanted to drive a choo-choo, too! More meals at McDonalds, will take care of the "more rounded" part.
  6. Eggs....the other white meat! "T'was ever thus."
  7. The ones who show up with everything, except their ego. "T'was ever thus."
  8. I just saw it on CNN, this morning...it was some form of cancer, I didn't catch the specific type. Even discounting the blindness, he was flat-out amazing. His music will live on but it's a helluva loss...he was an inspiration for many. "T'was ever thus."
  9. Jeff Healey has passed away. Music has lost another legend. "T'was ever thus."
  10. I raced motorcycles, most of my life. Primarily MX but an occasional flattrack, scrambles, cross-country or hare scrambles, just for kicks. I don't race anymore, just play-riding but it's one of those things I'll probably never give up, entirely. "T'was ever thus."
  11. Awww, c'mon....they got 'im outnumbered 3 to 1 PLUS, they've got clubs....and they're still runnin'!?! Whutta' buncha' wussies! The confrontation probably could have been avoided, had they just let the bear "play through". "T'was ever thus."
  12. You should have explained the "third handle" theory..... "T'was ever thus."
  13. Considering the length of the run, I'd install a second battery....just to be safe. If you need to use an inverter, it might be wise to make the second battery a deep-cycle (marine-type) and use an in-line isolator switch. This is a common set-up for tractor-trailers, due to the need to power fridges, tvs, DVD players, etc. You'll need to have a connection to the alternator, for charging...unless you can install a second dedicated alternator, which would be optimum. If you can only have one alternator, you might consider installing a higher output unit. Is this like a Paris/Dakar thing? Oughta' be a good time!
  14. Triple Yahtzee rules! "T'was ever thus."
  15. I always figured that if they had any competence or marketable skills...they wouldn't have to spend their lives, portraying those that do. "T'was ever thus."
  16. Seriously....we shoulda' left Hitler alone. "T'was ever thus."
  17. Whoa, that brings back memories! I was on a small twin, commuter flight that landed like that. We were coming into PIT from DC (IAD) and landed in near-blizzard conditions. I was sitting in the starboard wing seat and honest to God, the wing was in-line with the centerline of the runway, just as we touched down! I dunno' how he pulled it off but the pilot actually set 'er down gently and kept it on the runway. That was the only U.S. domestic flight I've been on, where the passengers applauded the landing. He deserved it, that was one "sh*t-hot" pilot! "T'was ever thus."
  18. I suppose I've done more than my fair share of "chatter jumps" but now, I'm pretty much over it. The best thing I've found, is one of those "warm-up" suits...like a nylon sweatsuit, with a flannel lining. I found it on the clearance rack at Wal-Mart, for $8.00. I also have a cold-weather Tony Suit, made with the heaviest materials and a turtleneck, which made a helluva difference...a wise investment, if you're in a cooler climate. "T'was ever thus."
  19. Naw, man....ya' had it right, the first time. "T'was ever thus."
  20. Damn, that's tragic...that's gotta' be tough to deal with. Hoping for the best, for the injured and deepest condolences, to all those affected. I don't know anyone involved but I probably go by that house, on my way to the dz. Sounds like a chimney fire, they usually go up quick. "T'was ever thus."
  21. In the late 80s, a sailor from my base won the lottery...2.4 million, if I recall correctly. Anyway, he wanted to stay in and although he "fought it", he was discharged within 2 weeks. In his case, it would have likely been an "administrative, under honorable conditions" discharge...often termed a "convenience of the Navy" discharge. I can't recall ever seeing the reg but according to military urban legend, "an enlisted man cannot be wealthier, than his Commanding Officer". I doubt it's worded that way, actually but there is something to the legend. Apparently, the reasoning is to avoid the possible discipline and morale problems. "T'was ever thus."
  22. Only two kinds of people, in the U.S.....criminals and the ones that the government eventually makes, into criminals. The moment you're born, you've already broken some bulls**t law or ordinance. The worst part is, the most hardened of criminals are allowed to run free...on Capitol Hill. "T'was ever thus."
  23. Ya' go back up & find it. "T'was ever thus."
