PM'ed you, mister! HISPA #93 DS #419.5

Thanks for your opinions/suggestions everybody. My only reason for a new canopy is because this one is getting close to the end of his life, and I dont wanna wait until the center cell blows up on opening like I did with the 150! Im not a swooper, and I dont have a good reason to downsize. But I like to induce a little speed to make the landings fun (Im sure some will call that swooping)....and its 10x more fun when I can surf longer than some people flying xfires and katanas with my triathlon Im 100% sure I can safely jump the 120, but probably a change in model is enough for now so Im gonna demo the Sabre2 135 and go from there. Gracias. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

Time is coming up for a new to me canopy, and Im considering going 1 size smaller. My progression has been something like: 1000 jumps on Triathlon 150 @ 1.1 wl 200 jumps on Triathlon 135 @ 1.4 wl 500 jumps on Sabre1 135 @1.5 wl Gained about 30lbs since jump 1 . Now Im about 200lbs out the door. Never been hurt and landed those canopies in every condition in all directions. Thinking about demoing a Sabre2 135 for about 40-50 jumps, and then buying a Sabre2 120....or demoing the 120, or staying with the 135, or going straight to the 120. What you think its more reasonable/practical? Anything Im not looking at? HISPA #93 DS #419.5

I have a friend I call "Mayday"...Because his first 3 seconds after exit used to look like a stalled airplane with a past-out pilot. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

Severe line twists with full toggle turn- why did this happen?
yeyo replied to kmyren1's topic in Gear and Rigging
Just to be clear, what he meant was to loosen it AFTER opening. "Tighter than most" is good for the freefall part. Ask your instructor to show you and explain the concept. HISPA #93 DS #419.5 -

With 200 Jumps loading 1,46 (Sabre 2 135)
yeyo replied to enta's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I didnt read all the other replies, but I tell you this... You can do a LOT on a Sabre2 @ 1.32. Learn to fly the 150 for real, not the learning you do in 80 jumps. I mean put at least 300+ on it. It will be way more productive in the long run. HISPA #93 DS #419.5 -
If you are doing 2 solo jumps, you are overthinking Just use packing rubber bands and put a red stick in your chest strap, the green on the left legpad facing back, and tie the strobe to your left hip somewhere with more rubber bands. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

Why are canopies of 150 square feet considered high performance?
yeyo replied to Sky_doggy's topic in Gear and Rigging
Just to clarify that part. Aspect Ratio is the relationship between span and chord...line lenght has nothing to do. Something like this: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YzSdnDA8SwM/UH6yGBoI2nI/AAAAAAAAAPc/GetwPVdPI6I/s1600/rwnew_2.gif HISPA #93 DS #419.5 -

Im talking about ethics in life, wich is bigger than wingsuit selling. If I was selling a hair dryer I wouldnt let Jarno buy it, and maybe I would tell him why he doesnt need it. Im talking about doing the right thing and not taking advantage of someone that doesnt know any better. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

I know of a case where 1 jumper landed, started running to get away from coming water (beach jump), got hit by another jumper that was landing, broke an arm, and he sue the jumper that hit him. Dont know the outcome. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

This one was a young girl, early 20s, on her first AFF jump. Uneventfull freefall and opening. She flew alright in the holding area and at about 1000' right as she enters the landing pattern she cuts away! The RSL pulls the reserve cable and she lands downwind like nothing happened. When asked why the hell she did that she said she was going too slow and she wanted lo land already. Im not sure what the instructor told her, but she never came back. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

Need Advice for Tri 135 Snappy Openings / Replacement Chute
yeyo replied to ed5k's topic in Gear and Rigging
I had about 900 jumps on a Tri 150 before I moved to a Tri 135. I was getting "hard" openings on the 135, so I put the 150 slider on it. Problem solved. HISPA #93 DS #419.5 -
