  6. Yes! no doubt, very bad thing!...but you already spent the first 6 seconds of your track looking for those. I should've said "back tracking for 2 seconds at the end of your track just before pull time, after making sure nobody is in the cone under you". After all, clearing the space below us is the #1 priority, as in the lower tracker has the right of way, always. Like I said, I dont barrel roll or back track during break off, but I think the latter could be done safely and effectively. HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  7. I think there's a biiig difference between (1)doing a quick barrel roll, and (2)back tracking for 2 seconds at the end of your track just before pull time. A barrel roll doesn't give you time to really scan the sky above you, and I think its not productive at all. But if you can maintain your heading and speed while transitioning to back tracking, then you have time to look for people above you. BTW, I dont do either. HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  8. Im a log whore too HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  9. Niiice, I like! and you did a great job! One observation thou. Probably Ed told you and you already know this, but in the video you are doing different. When you go to close the leg wing, think about getting your knees together and not just clicking your heels. That way you make sure the wing is completely collapsed. That goes for the exit, wave-off, the actual pull, and all the time thru deployment till the slider is down.

  17. Yes, i agree - he was a bit behind the power curve, but i think he learned his lessons, so let's just move on. Those lessons of course are: "Get a smaller canopy", "Add more rotation" and of course the most important one: "Trust your rears". but but....what about the gates? HISPA #93 DS #419.5

  23. This one has to be on the top 5 stupidest ever... It was on her AFF level 1. Everything looked fine, good exit, good freefall, good altitude aware etc etc. So she opens her parachute and she is hanging around in the holding area and everything seemed fine until its time to start the usual student landing pattern...then she cutaway about 1000' She landed fine under the reserve and her excuse was: "I was going too slow and it was taking forever to get to the ground" She got the "speech" and never came back.
