  1. yup...February 15-19, 2012 Lots of tourist stuff to do for your family and friends. They can also hang at the beach and you can land by them couple times everyday....and you dont need a passport! edit: oh yeah I see you are from Italy, you'll need a passport haha HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  2. My 1 cent: Ive been organizing sports competitions for many years (surfing), and I know its almost impossible to please everyone, there will always be somebody not happy about something... But if I announce the winner will get $1000, I better deliver the $1000. Changing my mind later to give $300 to the 2nd place and $700 to the winner is not acceptable. No excuses allowed there. Sounds like a baaaad way to promote a contest when the best athletes are going to boicot the event. chupaflautas? esa es buena lol HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  3. Hi Your best bet is to call Jason a couple days before, as we only fly on week days when there are tandem appointments. We have rental gear, but 170 is the smallest. A taxi would be like 4x more expensive than a rental car. Keep in mind the DZ is about 1hr west of San Juan, so after docking, renting car, and driving, youll get to the DZ around 10-11. Then you have to drive back around 1pm, so not much time for jumping from a C182. If I was you, I would do the normal Old San Juan tourist stuff, and come back in February for our boogie. Jason's phone is 787-852-5757 HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  4. I sprained my right knee once while catching a tandem....2 weeks on crutches BUT, I have a friend that fell off a golfcart during a boogie...8 days in a comma and a few months recovering from the head injury. HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  5. Would you mind defining "master". Is that 100 flat jumps? 1000 jumps? Being good enough to get on invitational big way jumps? Breaking a 20 point average in 4-way? Winning the nationals in AAA? What? ...being able to go anywhere without thinking about it ? HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  6. People say that a lot and I don't think it is true. As long as you can track and be stable at pull time there is nothing wrong with not mastering belly flying if it holds no interest for you. I can not think of any sport were you can get good at it without mastering the basics. Skydiving isnt any different. edit: Sure someone can hold a sit at 50 jumps, but its gona take him 5x longer to get good at it. And at the end, hes just gona be an incomplete jumper. 7. Thanks for the invite man
  8. What are you, his lawyer? Where did I said it never existed? I just said I havent seen it. And Im not talking about the tracking derby. A solo jump focused on performance is not the same as a "atmonauti" group jump. Why is so difficult for him to provide GPS data? He has spent years experimenting with that. Something like: "Hey, heres the GPS file of an atmo 4way, and we did 8 points". Hes done hundreds of those, shouldnt be too hard to share some data. HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  9. I remember when I started to read about this Atmonauti thing. I was new to the sport and had no idea what you guys were talking about. But I remember many people asking for GPS data and I still haven't seen any. Can you please provide some? Now we do a lot of this kind of jumps at my home DZ, but we just call it steep tracking. So, can we see the GPS data? I'll lend you my Wintec or my Flysight if you need it. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

  11. I also like to think of that part as a multi-lane highway that converges into 1 or 2 lanes, and everybody has a different kind of vehicle. So I find my logical place in the pattern and sort of claim it, or try to. I know Im landing before the school bus and the 18 wheelers. The porshes will land before me and I let them pass and do their thing. HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  12. Define "more". HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  13. We all fly better when in the middle of our range. In RW (FS) weights, sleeves, swoop cords... are useful tools used to adjust the center of the range to suit the event. I see no reason why weights shouldn't be used as a range adjuster when flying a WS in a flock. I'm skinny and I'm much more comfortable in most flocks when wearing 10 - 13 pounds of lead under my wingsuit. I fly better near the top of my range. .. Define "fly". Fly a : to move in or pass through the air with wings b : to move through the air or before the wind or through outer space c : to float, wave, or soar in the air d : something I do better than you No, you just plummet better than me I hardly think plummetting towards the ground at 80mph constitutes "soaring" or "floating" in anyone's mind but yours. Define "plummet" Define "better" Define "hardly" Define "soaring" Define "floating" HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  14. 50min from my city home, or 12min from my beach house next closest DZ is a 3hr flight + 90min drive HISPA #93 DS #419.5
  15. or make your own thread about mph , since lurch wants to talk bout times and altitudes. "So if you've done 4 minutes or more from standard altitude, post it along with the altitudes and what suit you did it with. If you've done between 3 and 4, post that too." Ive never done 3 minutes...I jump a small suit form 10k HISPA #93 DS #419.5

    speeds and GR

Pretty difficult assumption to satisfy over that speed range. Do you prefer '2.5 average GR' ? HISPA #93 DS #419.5

    speeds and GR

Pretty difficult assumption to satisfy over that speed range. Exactly what pretty word will satisfy you? Take out the "constant" part? Do you prefer: 'assuming a GR of 2.5 during X seconds'? And don't gimme no physic law stuff answer, Newton never jumped a wingsuit.. HISPA #93 DS #419.5

    speeds and GR

Assuming a constant 2.5 glide ratio, at what speeds would you rather fly? Me, I like the 125mph part HISPA #93 DS #419.5

  20. I had a similar experience but it was just a 2way....I followed him from a safe distance until he recovered around 6000', landed out with him to make sure everything was ok...also I had a phone with me and I knew he didnt have one. If it was a 3way+ like in your case, I would have done the same you did. HISPA #93 DS #419.5
