Great fights! I saw it live (and have a few stalker pictures to share.) The booing of the crowd made me extremely embarrassed to be from Chicago. I hope that doesn't weigh on Dana's mind on whether or not to bring it back here. I thought Sherk won the first two rounds, so I was surprised the crowd was booing over his interview (and pissed that I couldn't hear it.) They kept booing the Maynard/Clementi fight since it was on the ground, and that also annoyed me since I thought that was a fantastic fight! During the Silva/Cote fight, they booed at less than a minute into the fight! Dumbasses. Did they air Spencer Fisher's fight? It was one of my favorite fights of the night. And did you guys see Franca run into Aurelio before the fight? That was a jackass move for sure. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  3. Statistically, the chances have worked out to roughly 1 in 5. Do we adjust to account for McCain's age & health? I'm undecided. An insurance underwriter or an actuary would probably say yes. An historian would note that Eisenhower and Reagan were both old and survived, while Garfield and JFK were still in their 40's when they died. As a pretend actuary, my advice is don't believe everything Matt Damon says. He must've been using an outdated Mortality Table....or doing an ever popular trick of adjusting interest rates until you get the number you like! That being said, Sarah Palin still gives me the heeby jeebies, and I don't understand why McCain chose her over other, more qualified individuals. 5. In my humble opinion (I swear....I'm humble!) which will probably offend a few people (I'm good at that), it seems that sometimes skydivers getting frustrated in a tunnel has absolutely nothing to do with the coach/instructor. They're frustrated that they can't fly in the tunnel, so they blame something...anything...."The instructor didn't understand what I wanted," "The instructor isn't a skydiver, so they don't know what they're doing," "My shoelaces became untied." Generally, I arrange for a coach beforehand, but any time I've used the tunnel instructor for coaching, it's been a really great experience, and I learned a lot. For a skydiver to learn in a tunnel, they don't need to have specific coaches, they just need to check the ego at the door, prepare to be humbled by the dude with 10 jumps, and get ready to learn a whole heck of a lot! I don't use a scapegoat for my crappy flying. It speaks for itself! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  6. I thought twice before posting this so that I could avoid such persecution of my beliefs in boy bands. But, I ended up deciding that I could trust this community to not judge me. I think I'll go cry now NKOTB has another show the night before the UFC fights. Coincidence? I think there are several closet NKOTB fans amongst the male population. 7. I was in high school for the Backstreet Boys takeover of boy band rulers. I babysat two girls who listened to their music constantly, and it still haunts me. I hope they don't reunite! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  8. When I was a 9-year-old girl in the late 80s, I had crimped hair, day-glo clothing, and my very own NKOTB cd! I spent many nights making up dance routines and dreaming of Jordan. My parents saw this love and took me (and my brother...who has hated me since) to my very first concert! I had some very jealous friends who fell into the super-obsessed category (she ran out of wall space for her posters, so she started hanging Teen Beat pictures from the ceiling.) By the time the concert rolled around, I had already started turning on NKOTB. I didn't even get "Step By Step"! Nonetheless, I had a great time at my first concert watching 5 dreamy men dance and lip-sync to songs I was very familiar with. Almost 20 years later, an important news event came to me via email: the New Kids were reuniting!!! A few of us women in our late 20s/early 30s just HAD to go! Last night, we joined 20,000 other women in their late 20s/early 30s for a show full of cheese, ridiculousness and big fun! I enjoyed seeing the side pony tails, neon jackets, oversized buttons, fringed t-shirts, and other bad fashion statements that I used to wear proudly. Some women took on more "adult" themes making posters that read, "We're bigger now," drawing boobs below the statment and another girl with a poster reading, "I swallow." When the five grown men stepped on stage, it took every one of us back to our Girl Talk playing days. They threw in some of their old dance moves to "The Right Stuff" while everyone in the crowd sang along. The back up dancers also did the running man, the knee and the Roger Rabit...a nice touch. They did a mix of old and new stuff with a most fantastic finale of "Hangin' Tough"! It satisfied the women who missed out on it in their youth, and it let the rest of us relive a most memorable moment in our lives. And I STILL love Jordan!!!!!!! 11. I dont know. She has a habbit to get drunk at lunch on fridays, and there are several compromising pics of her engaging in public spanking play. My character overflows with "first lady" kind of class! Right? And Remi, I don't get drunk every Friday at lunch...just the ones where my boss makes me! 12. Congratulations, Don! She's beautiful! And this whole time I thought you had a thing for wildblue.... There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  13. It's really embarrassing that anyone is a creationist. When I was a young kid in school learning about how people way back in the day believed the Earth was flat despite the evidence, I wondered what our "flat Earth" controversy would be. I keep moving more towards the grey area when it comes to voting/political beliefs. One single thing generally isn't enough to sway my vote (otherwise, I'd have no one to vote for!) It would, however, be very very very difficult for me to vote for a creationist. I don't care what someone thinks religiously, but having such a high level of ignorance and stubborness to deny overwhelming evidence...well, just not sure I can ever give someone like that any "power." 14. It's a line from Jimmy Buffett's song "Fruitcakes," and it's how I felt at Couch Freaks!
  15. Weee! Wishing I was still at Couchfreaks drinking Jengas, listening to "Face down a** up," and keeping up with the tomfoolery... There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

  18. I believe copying and pasting people's resumes is classified as the "argument by authority." Also, it doesn't have to be a "scientist" to claim the million. If you think that the rice experiment works, you could go and claim the million if you can prove it in a controlled setting. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  19. I meant that the Million Dollar Challenge offers $1 million to anyone that can prove in agreed upon, controlled settings that the specified paranormal phenomenon works. So, if the rice experiment works, why isn't anyone taking on the challenge of proving it in a controlled setting to win the million? Would you have the guts to say that to a starving child? Would you tell them all they have to do is think positively? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  20. Basically, if you talk bad to rice, it will turn bad. I think the million dollar prize is offered to anyone who can prove it in a clinical setting under controlled conditions. So, if people out there really think it works, I don't understand why they're not going out there and becoming instant millionaires. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

UFC is coming to Atlanta in September and we got tickets, so me first! I already have And there's pictures/video to prove it! (Not to mention a story or two in the news...) I could be wrong, but I think it had to do with Arlovski not performing as well (he hasn't looked that good in a fight in a really long time...if ever) but still wanting more fights/money. That was probably Affliction's most humiliating moment! Also, (as noted by the men I watched the fights with), another fault of Affliction was to never ever show close ups of the ring girls. I mean, how do guys know they're still straight if they don't throw in video of a hot chick while they're watching buff, sweaty men roll around together? I ditto a lot of what jt said (except for Megadeth...WTF were they thinking?) Where Affliction fell short (announcers, production, footage from previous fights, Megadeth), most of it can be worked out over time (especially with Trump backing it.) They obviously put together one of the best fight cards this year, but it will probably be awhile before they can do anything like that again. They did rather well with filling the niche of the heavyweight void. I think eventually they'll stop doing weird stuff (like reading a list of all the "famous" people in attendance...and for thinking that showing Don Johnson was a good thing.) And the good thing is that Fedor isn't hurt, so he should be ready to fight again very soon!
  24. I completely agree with that. I’m no stranger to making “all about me” posts, and I’m sure I’m a strong contender for being one of the louder posters about my good deeds (how many JFTC posts did I make?) Do the ends justify the means? What’s a little self-absorption if it benefits people? People can always choose not to listen/read/etc. We are all guilty of self-advertisement, and I don’t think that’s what people have a problem with. I think it’s when that seems to be the sole purpose of this strange, dysfunctional community to some. I have been and can be loud/obnoxious/self-absorbed online, but that is and how I have been in person as well. I have used this community to learn more about and stay connected to my favorite sport. Even people that I have heated arguments with online, I have met up with and chatted with in person. When someone makes getting attention their sole priority for this site, they shouldn’t be shocked when they get it, good and bad. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  25. Heck yeah! Bummer that you guys only got one jump in...it's not always fun doing the smart thing! Hopefully, the next meet has better weather! Mmm....four-way... There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
